Mark your calendars: The 2024 EPCOT International Food & Wine Festival presented by CORKCICLE takes place at Walt Disney World Aug. 29 through Nov. 23!

CommuniCore Hall ​

As we told you in a recent story, CommuniCore Hall will open on June 10 in the heart of World Celebration.


And, once the EPCOT International Food & Wine Festival begins, the new space will add exciting fresh elements to the festival. Stay tuned for more!

Eat to the Beat Concert Series, Scavenger Hunts and More​

As evening falls, chart-topping musical acts and Orlando’s top talent will take to the stage as part of the Eat to the Beat Concert Series presented by Florida Blue. Performances will take place nightly in the America Gardens Theatre. Eat to the Beat Dining Packages will also return, ensuring you get a seat for your favorite acts. We’ll have more details soon.


On the scavenger hunt front, guests can purchase a map (while supplies last) for Remy’s Ratatouille Hide & Squeak and search to find their favorite little chef hidden throughout World Showcase.

First Star Wars Celebration Japan 2025 Merchandise Revealed

Plan ahead to pick up special pre-sale pins, patches, shirts, and more featuring the logo and key art for next year’s event!

Today, StarWars.com has your first look at pre-sale apparel and other items featuring the Star Wars Celebration Japan 2025 key art and logo. T-shirts, ballcaps, pins and more feature variations of the English and Japanese logo text, including a hybrid of the two languages, ranging from ¥1,560 - ¥4,700. Meet the Disney Cast Members Creating Stuffed Toys that Include Recycled Materials

Did you know that over 100 Disney stuffed toys in North America contain recycled material? For several years, Disney has been on a journey to make our products more sustainable, in part, by expanding our use of recycled materials.

We’ve continued to build upon these efforts, and now, in honor of Earth Month, we’re celebrating how this vision is coming to life through more than 100 stuffed toys made with at least 50% recycled material, made possible by the passion of a dedicated group of cast members.

“For a lot of kids, the first item that they get from Disney is a stuffed toy,” explained Adriana Hurtado, associate sourcing manager, Global Sourcing & Product Development. “So, if you can make it with sustainability in mind, it’s like you are supporting their future in a small way. It just helps set the tone for the next generation.”

This special connection made stuffed toys a perfect focus area for Disney, as we take tangible action to inspire optimism for a brighter, more sustainable future.

Giving New Life to Recycled Materials​

By using recycled instead of raw materials, we’re making use of resources that may otherwise end up in a landfill. After they’re collected, sorted, cleaned and processed, the materials are transformed into new, soft and durable stuffing for toys that can be played with for years to come.


“People look to Disney to be best-in-class in stuffed toys. We always want to lead the way, and we can help make an impact environmentally,” said Alicia Henderson, sr. manager, Merchandising.


Making such a monumental shift is more complicated than you may think. Disney’s merchandising, product design and sourcing teams combined their creative power and expertise to bring this vision to life. As the group started to explore options for recycled material several years ago, they found that it wasn’t widely available.

“Because we were so early on that initiative, our vendors weren’t really ready for it just yet, and I feel like we ended up really pushing them,” added Sam Cascio, merchandising manager, Plush.


Finding the best recycled material for Disney stuffed toys—with the same durability and cuddliness that our fans expect—was no small task. After exploring countless fabric and stuffing samples, and undergoing many rounds of testing and tweaking, the team had found a perfect fit.


“When you think about how integral Disney is in the lives and stories of other people – how lucky we are that we get to be a part of people’s memories and magical moments. When you’re part of that, you owe it to them to do it the right way,” reflected Sarah Allan, associate sourcing manager, Plush.

One Step in Our Continuous Journey​

For nearly a century, Disney has found inspiration in the wonders of the world we share, and together, we’re working to inspire a brighter, more sustainable future. We call our collective efforts Disney Planet Possible.


“When we started back in 2017, we didn’t know how long it was going to take, but to get to this point now, where we’re producing and developing these beautiful stuffed toys that include recycled materials is really rewarding,” shared Monty Maldovan, sr. manager, product design.

Still, this is only the beginning for Disney’s stuffed toys. While we are excited to announce this effort in celebration of Earth Month, this is not a limited-time collection, and the initiative will continue year-round. We plan to continue to increase the number of stuffed toys containing recycled material moving forward.


“I think we really can leave the world better than we found it. That’s what Walt believed. That’s what I believe,” Sarah added. “We owe it to the planet, we owe it to our neighbors to do the right thing.”

Savi’s Workshop Custom Lightsaber and Droid Depot Build-A-Droid Experiences Now Require Pre-Paid Booking

The Savi’s Workshop Handbuilt Custom Lightsabers experience and the Droid Depot Build-a-Droid experience have changed booking policies at the Walt Disney World Resort.

Both Star Wars Land upcharge experiences moved from a credit card guarantee to pre-paid experiences recently. Previously, both experiences required a credit card guarantee when booking, and then full payment was required at the location before you began the experience. By moving to a pre-paid booking, guests will be charged at the time of booking, and simply be required to check-in 5-10 minutes before the reservation time.

The products, add-ons, and pricing of the experiences have not changed as part of the pre-paid booking update. The 24-hour cancelation policy also remains in place.

Disney World Announces Virtual Queue for Hollywood Studios 35th Anniversary Merchandise

Disney’s Hollywood Studios is turning 35 years old this year, and Disney World has announced the initial details for the shopping event where guests will be able to find anniversary merchandise. Here’s the latest:

Use the virtual queue on May 1, 2024, to purchase exciting, new items in honor of this special anniversary.

Celebrate this important milestone event when you shop at Stage 1 Company Store for adult and youth apparel, collectibles and limited-release pins.
A virtual queue will be in place for this shopping event.

Tips for Joining the Virtual Queue

• You must have valid theme park admission (and, if applicable, theme park reservations) for Disney’s Hollywood Studios to join the virtual queue.
• You can join the virtual queue starting at 7:00 AM Eastern Time on May 1, 2024. Please be aware that you do not need to be at Disney’s Hollywood Studios when you request to join the virtual queue.
• Download the My Disney Experience app and ensure location services are turned on. Visit the “Virtual Queues” section in the app to begin.

Cast (Opening Day to Now) Reflect on 35 Years of Disney’s Hollywood Studios

From 1989 to today, every day at Disney’s Hollywood Studios has been an adventure. As we roll out the red carpet and prepare to celebrate 35 years of action at this ever-evolving theme park, I asked my fellow cast members to walk down memory lane with me. Here are some of their favorite Disney Cast Life moments from the last few decades...

Nothing can stop us now! From 1989 to today we are still celebrating countless adventures and the cast members that help bring them to life at Disney’s Hollywood Studios and beyond.


“A huge highlight for me was working with a team at Hollywood Studios that was supportive of my career development while I was working toward my master’s degree with Disney Aspire. I look back knowing that Studios made my dreams a reality and led me to where I am today.” – Rachel, Organizational Management
