At Aulani Right Now, And…

I'll never really understand the "freak out" over bugs and roaches.
I mean if it's infested yes, but a few bugs are normal, especially in a tropical environment and at night.
Bugs are a sign of a healthy ecosystem - not to be feared.

Tropical environment aside, roaches are also a sign of uncleanliness and infestation. Call me crazy, but I would rather not see a huge roach scurrying for cover when I turn on the bathroom light.

you only need to worry if you see 50 of them at once - an infestation.
one or two won't hurt you and as I said are normal and common where you have lot of people and food.
People are just too precious these days.

I have never seen a cockroach at Aulani or any other hotel that I stayed at…. I’ve seen ants… but not cockroaches….

This would freak my wife out….

Are you an entomologist? One or two roaches on the bathroom floor can very well mean 50 of them in the walls. And I don’t usually expect to see any in high end hotels, no matter their location. Does that make me too precious?
What about rats? Are you ok with those as well? Thankfully I’ve never seen any at Aulani.
Anyway, let’s stop the back and forth and stay on topic.

If you read further up, the reporting is that the sun cover doesn’t go down as far and you’ll get absolutely baked in the afternoon.
Did the old ones fully cover the entire chair? Could see a bunch of adult things happening on the beach if that were the case. pirate:
I am not one to sit long periods of time anyway I guess. I can see myself in one of these for a few hours in the morning or evening but missing the afternoon heat anyway.

No you could still see all the lower half of a person. :poop: But it did really well covering the whole top half.

The back of the cover could come up to the top of the chair and that would allow the cover to block more of the sun.

Given that these are paid seats, you want to have more of the day where you can come back from the pool or beach and get out of the sun without having to go back to your room and rinsing off.

ohhhh yeah it did do that. SMH at the new styles.

For us, the new casabellas were a total failure, unless you don’t mind zero shade cover from the Hawaiian sun all afternoon. I guess if it’s a cloudy day you might be ok, but even then you can still get a sunburn.

We switched to the adult pool, which has plenty of shade, but not as scenic a location.

They might have a much harder time selling them then….

When we were there in Jan, I complained to several people who rent them out from that little shack by Rainbow Reef, and got the exact same canned reply from all of them. “We’re aware of the issue and are currently working with the manufacturer to come up with a solution.”

They also had no idea who ordered them.
