Are the Days of Walking a DVC Reservation Numbered?

With only 5 Club Studios, I would not be surprised if this is how most members get to stay there.

well even though it’s been a while I normally book club during the 11 month window. I waited for the walkers to walk by my dates and picked up their droppings

I eventually booked too few nights so I had to waitlist one more night. Took 1-2 weeks to match but it did.

They don’t for instance, tell you about modifying to reallocate your points

This is a really important one. For a couple of years, I was calling Member Services to ask them to reallocate my points, not realizing I could simply rebook my stay with the exact same dates and the system would do it automatically for me.

Relating this to this thread, there are several helpful "tricks" to using your points that Disney does not tell you about.

I mean they do benefit from the unused points so... maybe juuust a bit of a conflict of interest?

You must not have witnessed all the smarmy and thinly veiled condescension upthread about us poor folk feeling entitled to cheap studios if my reply surprises you. This thread was doomed from the start because it isn’t just a disagreement about the rules of DVC, it’s basically the shopping cart test of DVC membership.

Ok, Dolores Umbridge.

You can ruin the system for everyone else and I will still get to enjoy a Boardwalk Grand Villa, a Grand Floridian Lake View Villa, an Aulani Grand Villa, and a Grand Californian Villa in 2025…. Changing the walking rules won’t impact people with my level of points, it will just give me an even bigger advantage. The main people it will hurt is people with smaller contracts trying to get the low priced rooms…. because that’s what everyone is fighting for.

Walkers aren’t the enemy… it’s the spec renters and the bots.
