Disney Very Merriest After Hours Party just announced!

Staffing isn't lower with performers. It's non-exisitent virtually. They have not even begun to call them back. Why? $$$$$

And perhaps rather than allocate staff to re-open every hotel by December so they can cram even more people in, maybe they should divert that staff to the parks. Clearly you think Disney is doing everything right and I think they're doing very little right. There's no point in continuing the back and forth with you. Enjoy the MVMCP-lite version.
So true, they have clearly drank the Disney Kool-Aid and believe Disney can do no wrong here

Not at all true. I think it was severely misguided that they got rid of Magical Express. That’ll bite them in the behind.

I just disagree about this particular event.

you think they can just divert staff from one part of the parks to another, willy-nilly?

Of course they can. They're doing it right now. You didn't know that? :rotfl2: I don't know about willy - knilly, but yes they can hire staff for any position and staff knows that they can be changed to a different location and job within the parks.

yes, but you’re talking here about very different skill sets. You can’t just transfer a housekeeper to being a parade performer.

I'm talking about the ability to stand at a ride entrance, be able to count and move people through the line. I'm not suggesting they ask a housekeeper to sing on stage. Those would be Union performers, you know, the people they aren't calling back yet.

Yes, but the primary difference between the previous holiday events and this year is the lack of parade and perhaps stage shows. That’s why I keep harping on staffing. Making this year like previous years requires rehiring and training performers. As you may know, that is a long process: you have to identify people with a very specific skill set and then rehearse them. You have to be able to safely rehearse in large groups (remember that adults weren’t even generally eligible for vaccination until April). Hiring performers is among the most difficult of the skill sets Disney requires.

I was referencing the entire operation.

But at the end of the day, if you don’t like Disney anymore, don’t go to WDW. No one is forcing you.
Never said I disliked Disney. I said they are choosing to give sub par experiences, yet still charge the same or more. I also said their customer service is lacking. WE can debate the cause of those things all you want, but we both know those statements to be true.

Then don’t spend your money there! Easy solution. :)

So you agree with my statement. How and where I spend my money is irrelevant to the conversation.

I personally wouldn’t spend my time on a board devoted to a company I think is fleecing people, but to each their own.

Suffice it to say, I do not agree with your statement.

Some of y’all seriously need to try going outside. It’s the first summer after a pandemic and people are spending their entire days arguing on a Disney World message board.

You posting from outside? Just curious. :)

As for me, I just spent 5 days in the great outdoors glamping so I think mother nature and I have had enough of each other for a while.

You know I will give them credit for the nerve to blend the names of 2 events to create 1 event that is actually neither of those 2. They get a 3 for originality, but a solid 10 for hutzpah.

I just came back from a weeklong vacation, where I didn’t spend any time looking at this board. This is the first Disboards argument I’ve ever really been involved with.

The things that I would like to see return in the future are the character meets and parade. I'm sure the fireworks show will be great but it's not enough for me to want to drop the money on tickets. We may go but I'm leaning towards no right now as it doesn't seem like it would be good enough value for us. Looking forward to seeing all of the decorations though.
