What was the first car everyone in your family had?

Dude!! You've got a Morgan? Man, that's awesome!! I love those things!!! You're into British cars, I see (or at least British in name). I've had a few British tied cars over the years. Had my R56S. Also had a 1967 Jaguar XK-E 2+2 that purists HATED. It had a hopped up Ford 302 under the hood and a ghost flame paint job. It was Mustang loud, and Mustang fast. Purists gave me the stink eye, but kids at car shows ooohed and aaahhed over it. I also had a Factory Five Cobra 427 S/C replica. Probably my favorite car I ever owned. Just awesome in every way. Still very much miss it and it's been 10 years since I sold it.

Oh well, some day the budget for really wild and exotic cars will come back. I've also gotten into wheel to wheel racing over the past 6 years, which eats up a huge chunk of any car budget I'd have. So for now, I'll make do with what I have. Just bought a 2006 Miata, waiting for the shipper to bring it. This will be my 6th Miata, I love 'em.
Yeah, it's my Wife's dream car. We've put over 11,000 miles on it in 3 years, including 3 trips to the Dragon. Picture is our cabin in Fontana Village. I really should put a hitch on the wagon. Driving the Morgan 600 miles is what one would most politely call an "adventure".13178999_10209206818438717_2253506707626221746_n.jpg

My first car was Ralph Nadar's favorite - a Corvair. And it did swap ends with me once going around a curve at a fairly slow speed so I guess he was right.

Mine was a 1968 Camaro with rot holes in the floor boards so that my feet got soaked every time I drove through a big puddle.

Don't tell me the V is yours too...that's my wife's bucket list car. She's confined to a minivan right now, given the kids, but she loves the V. More realistically, before long I hope to get her back into a used G37 sedan, which has plenty of performance in it's own right, is dead nuts reliable and pretty cheap on the used market.

I put about 15,000 miles on my Cobra in the 5 years I had it, maybe 17,000 miles. Never drove it 600 miles in a stretch, can't say I would have wanted to. It was awesome for about 50 miles at a time, then it got tedious. Can't imagine running the Morgan that long.

The V is ours too. One of less than 400 wagons with a manual trans.

I have a great helmet for when I'm on the highway. It must be quite a sight; I'm only nervous when people are next to me taking pictures while they drive!

Bought my first car in 1984....a 1975 olive green Ford Maverick. 4-door with vinyl roof. Ran like a dream...man I *loved* that car. Wish I still had a pic of it.

Found this on Google though...

OK, now you're killing me. I thought it may be a wagon, but couldn't tell from the photo. And being a manual is just icing on the cake. I had agreed with DW that if we had one, it'd have to be a manual wagon. That's sweet.

Sometimes I go into the garage and I can't believe it myself! I owe it all to my Wife who loves cars and has a head for business.

My big brother's first car was a Maverick- light bright blue with a black vinyl roof. He bought one of those DIY decal kits and wanted to spell out MAVERICK across the top of the windshield. Well, he messed up the 'M' and there was just one of them in the kit, so he used an upside-down 'W' instead. All his friends ragged on him and from that day until he finally sold it 7 years later it was known as "the Waverick", lol.

Me - 83 Toyota Tercel
Husband - 80 Honda Accord
Oldest Child - 2010 Honda CRV
Youngest Child - 2012 Nissan Rogue

All were new except for my husband's . His family was a "buy used" one. I broke him of that.

Me: 1970 Ford Mustang. Cream with a blue hardtop. My father and I restored the car together when I was 16. My dad built a painting garage on on the back of our property and we worked for 10 months. I'm the only girl I know who can putty, body sand, paint a car, change an alternator, timing belt, oil, etc.... best memory I have of my childhood. He also restored 4 other Mustangs with my four brothers and a 1954 Ford convertible for he and my mom. If I can hunt some photos I will post them!

First car my mom bought, with her brother, and they shared it: green ford Maverick, early 70's

First car I ever drove: black 84 lincoln

First car I owned: 1985 powder blue Buick rivera

First car I bought myself: 1993 black Geo Storm (used)

First brand new car I bought myself: 2000 white Ford Explorer

Dh's first car: 1984 ford Tempo

First brand new car DH ever bought: 1999 black Chrysler Sebring

When you are from MI, you only buy American!

That is exactly what my mom's looked like! It was also the car she still had when we were all little, so I guess it was my *first* car, too. I remember jumping around in it....way back in the 70's before kids had to wear seat belts ;)

I forgot to add - the first car that both of my kids drove.... cars on the Tomorrowland Speedway!

I can't actually remember what kind of car my parents had when I was really little...it was blue, I think a Dodge, had those plastic seats that would burn you on a hot day!! I do remember when my father bought a brand new car though - a 1985 Grand Prix. He had a big Green one between the Dodge and the grand prix, but I was really little and don't know what it was.
For me, I got my license in 1994 and the car was a 1985 Buick Regal that my parents gave me/let me use...wasn't in my name or anything.
After that, I got lots of hand me down crap cars bc I was a full time student, including my father's 1985 Grand Prix then a 93 Topaz then a 97 Escort. I didn't actually buy my own car with my own money outright until a 2003 Honda Civic when I had finally finished graduate school and got a real job. My current is a 2007 Honda Pilot. I love it and can't believe it's already 10 years old.
