New Express Transportation: $19/day or $29/week-SERVICE ENDING AUGUST 23RD 2017

Question for those who used this service. We usually rent a car mainly due to not wanting to take crowded buses at night with a guide dog who will be stepped on constantly. My major reason for not getting a car and using this service would be a totally different reason, not having to go thru security more than once a day, first Disney does not train security people for blind people, second Disney disrequards me when I ask to not be scanned due to already having radiation poisoning. So to get a car (my dd drives) or to get this pass. We can take this bus from most of the parks as the last bus of night, and go to MK and then take the boat to WL. No sense getting a car and this pass, I don't mind other buses when not crowded, but when Disney is allowed to put 100 on a buss that only has seats for 25, and my $40000 guide dog gets stepped on or rolled on, I get really mad, so just those last few buses of the night do I mind. What would you say the best option would be?

I can report that so far, the buses have not been crowded - they have been nowhere near capacity. Based on my personal experiences, as well as others who posted here, it seems like the greatest number of passengers is usually about ten. Many times, it is even fewer than that. The buses say "VIP," and that is how you will feel - like a VIP. The cast members who staff the service to escort you to/from the buses and check you in are all from Guest Relations, so they are more highly-trained than most other CMs. They truly provide personalized service.

I would recommend the Express Transportation over a rental car, if you will not need a car for anything other than transportation from park to park or resort to park.

I'd certainly use the express service over a rental car in your situation. I used express myself to get to an open park from the one we were in that was closing just to avoid the crowding that happens at night. If the MK is still open, any park will have express service to the MK.

where on the app did you find this?? I don't see it anywhere :worried:

When you open the MDE app, there is a bar at the top that scrolls left and right.....Attractions, Characters, Dining, etc. Scroll to the Guest Services icon and click on it. It will load a map of all things Guest Services, at the bottom right you can click the list icon, and then everything is listed alphabetically. Scroll down until you find Express Transportation Option. If you click on that, it will load info and give you the option to view the "bus stops" on a map.

Thanks!! found it!

When is this currently extended through? Wonder how long it'll be - if they decide to keep it as a permanent offering - to allow us to modify our existing reservation to include it in our current package.

I got a call today from Guest Services (I wrote an e-mail to them last week raving about it) and they said that they've passed my e-mail to Transportation and they said it is going on indefinitely (so scratch that "end of summer" post I made a couple pages back) and everything about this is fluid right now, including departure times, price, and how long it's going to run.

They said that they want to hear from everyone that have used it and going to the "contact" section of the WDW website is best (over going to guest relations at the parks) because their department (the department of CM I spoke with) will actually direct your questions/comments to the transportation department.

I've used it 3 weekends in a row now and will not park hop without it. As an AP, I used to just do half days when I went by myself, but have been going all day now with express transportation (I also let them know this). Finally crossed "rope drop to wishes" off my bucket list this past Saturday :) 4 park days are almost normal now. And yes, I know it's ridiculous that I keep throwing money at this service every weekend, but seriously. It's (Disney)Life changing for me lol

AMAZING. I hope against all hopes that the price stays the same or reaaaallllllly close until the end of April. Well, honestly, how great if it stayed like that all the time...

I had given positive reviews while we were there last week, but just sent an email as you suggested. We plan on returning sometime this year or early next year and I absolutely want this service to continue.

reporting in again

We used the Express Bus service for 6 days in a row - today (Day 7) we decided to PH the old fashioned way because we wanted to go to Winter Garden (from MK started the day at AK). OH boy did we miss our express bus today!!! I admit it we were spoiled park hopping for the first 6 days via the Express system - today we were back to reality. I really really hope the service stays around and the price point stays the same!

Side note I made my time chart on day 1 and it held true for all 6 days (and we generally hit 3 parks per day) Big thumbs up :-) and yes, before you ask I have written in about it twice and talked to a Guest relations person on the phone (he called me with questions about the service)

Yep, we did the Backstage Magic tour and there is plenty of room in WS to get a bus, and a bus load of people. We were taken in behind the US Pavilion. You don't even see any areas that would be considered risky either. it would be an ideal spot to drop off and pick up people.
We'll be using it next week and I plan to stress how much benefit they would see out of a WS drop point.
If you could get them to add that stop before Feb 9th that would be fab ;).

For those of you who have used it, have you found the times to be the same on the days you were there?

Also would this be a good time to grab lunch and eat it while waiting if park hopping around that time? If so and the bus came quickly, are you allowed to take food on the bus?

Thanks.

I think the general rule is no food or drink on a bus. For minor things they're unlikely to give you a hard time but I wouldn't try it with a full meal. The bus schedules are pretty set so they'll tell you it'll leave at 10 after and you can board at 5 after so you should know how much time you have to grab a meal and plan accordingly.

The times did not change during the week we used it. You should know in advance what schedule the bus will have for each park so you'd know if you have time to eat or not. Technically, you are not supposed to bring drinks or food on the bus, but many people do. We don't bring meals, but we have brought snacks and drinks on- but not on express yet. Only once in all the years we've been going has a driver ever said anything to me and that was because it was an open container. He was a little on the grouchy side so I reached for my resort cup, dropped the open cup in it and snapped on the lid. I do think trying to bring a meal on board would cause some issues and since you can plan in advance, it's really not neccesary.

So what I'm still seeing here is that you have to go to the bus stop at the park to find out the times. Correct? Or how did you know in advance - you mean by asking that morning?

Good to know they didn't change. Maybe I could just get this info off here the day before we leave. I'm so tight on time!

I meant by asking at some point in the day- but I went through this thread before we left and found almost all the times that were being reported. Turns out those times were still correct, but we double checked once in the parks when we found ourselves close by. I'm hoping they start publishing times soon!
