Thank you both for taking the time to reply! You've convinced me :) Camera is coming with us! I didn't realize there weren't photo pass photographers during the character meals so that's really helpful information to have! I definitely want to capture those moments.

We've ordered Memory Maker and now I'm trying to decide if I should lug around my DSLR or just rely on the Photo Pass photographers and our iPhone cameras. Are there photo pass photographers at all of the character meals? What do you all do? Thanks!

We're officially booked at Bay Lake Tower 1/28 to 2/3! So excited!! This will be our first family trip. We were originally planning to stay in a suite at Art of Animation, but when I found out about renting DVC points and did the math...we decided it was worth it to say at BLT instead.

We're planning a resort/pool day. My kids get over-stimulated and just worn out if we don't have a relaxed day at home every once in a while. Plus they love to swim so I figure we might as well enjoy the resort and save on a park ticket for one day.

I am not from an "alligator area" and it honestly never occurred to me that there would be alligators in the resort areas. If I were camping, I would have researched wildlife safety but staying in a resort I would have (apparently incorrectly) believed that the resort would ensure deadly...

My parents took me when I was 4 years, 9 months. I remember parts of the trip and I'm 31 now.

We're going to hire one of the sitters and we're staying in a family suite at Art of Animation. I was thinking they'd stay in the suite for the 2 hours before bedtime. We're going to tire the kids out beforehand so I think they'll be happy to eat pizza, watch videos and play some indoor games...

You're a brave woman to be adding another baby into the mix with 2 under 2 already! With so much family around to help, you could just relax at the resort while everyone else braves the heat and the parks...that might not be so terrible...

Thanks for all the responses! I love reading about what works for other families. With fast pass pluses and ADRs, it's so hard for me to take a step back and not plan every detail. But with a 4 and 2.5 year old, we're going to need to go with the flow.

We'll be flying into MCO after a 2.5 hour flight - not a particularly tough travel day, but am not sure how the little ones will handle it. I'm curious what your arrival day plans are or what has worked in the past for you? Did you keep it low key and just check out the resort? Were the kids...
