OFFICIAL New Animal Kingdom Experiences UPDATE 5/28: Reports from first night in Post #2

There is no good section. Dining can barely see the singers but the stage obstructs the video. Other sections get a good dancer view but can't see the singers and some video obstruction.

If your going to eat at tiffins or tusker house, I found the package saved me about $20 per person to eat. (tiffin) Not having to wait in line was priceless for this. It chews up most of the night so if you want to do rides in dark and see the tree, efficency with the show is a must.

Near the center, bridge between fp and dining, closest to front seems the most promising but it's not a good seat, just better of the bad seats. Sit near the aisle so you can leave early if you hate it.

To my understanding is, LKQP, but hopefully someone who did the dining package will report back

Add u and yes.

U might have the best seat being above everyone else to actually see the stage without standing

You enter from the nemo stage so walk around the line. They use nemo standby line to line up if theater isn't seating yet

Thank you! I hope they tweak this show before I go. They have 42 days to improve it before I get there. I'm not feeling too positive with the reviews. However, I will go and form my own opinion. Not everything is for everyone. Case in point... I Can't stand the Nemo show, yet others rave about it. So....I guess I will see. I've avoided all video and will not watch any before I witness it myself in person.

I think that's the best attitude to have. Not everything disney does is for everyone. Try and go in with an open mind.

@Accident - what time did you enter the show with your dining package ticket? I think you make a very good point about the dining package actually saving you money at Tiffins, so I think I will keep that ADR. If it also saves you time from having to line up (either FP or standby), then the DP seems worthwhile. Thanks for your review and observations.

Waiting for JB. Had some excitement. A snake behind us. Not Kaa. An announcement came through earlier that the show may be stopped mid-show due to incoming inclement weather.

I know it's getting a lot of mixed reviews right now, but JB is actually growing on me as I keep watching it on Youtube. I'm actually thinking I'll enjoy this show when i see it. I am sensing it's a lot like the Festival of the Lion King (my favorite Disney theme park show) with having highlights of the songs from the film and then ending with the medley of songs.

About 8:40ish. People line up stupid early and I casually walked in, watched, out first no mess or wasting 3 hours.

This is the approach I'm taking but I'm going one step further. I'm avoiding reviews too. Even reading negative reviews can plant seeds that may grow before I get a chance to form my own opinion.

Plus, RoL/JB is not my primary reason for being excited about AK After Dark. I want the whole experience of the park at night. The show is just a small part of it. Even if I don't like the show it won't mean I won't be in the park at night in the future.

Agreed. There are many reasons I am excited bout AK after dark. JB/ROL is just a part of it. You've made a good point about avoiding reviews. I think I will start doing that as well.

And that is exactly why I'm always on edge when we're at AK. At least during the day I have a chance of seeing the snake before it's too close to me. While I'm really looking forward to seeing AK at night, I'm already having anxiety about the possibility of unexpectedly running into a snake. I think it will be a double-dose Ativan day. :D

I don't want to get you nervous but same chances of seeing snakes in any of the other parks and wherever you are staying.

I've seen one but for the life of me I can't remember now where it was. Last summer, and it was a baby. Rather cute little thing actually. So yeah, it wouldn't surprise me at all to see a snake. It's outdoors and it's Florida.

Local here - for the most part, snakes are like bumblebees (as opposed to yellowjackets). Harmless unless you trap/provoke/attempt to kill or capture them. If you don't bother them they won't bother you.
