How is a Disney Trip Like a Writing Desk: A PTR through Wonderland UPDATED: 9/18/10

The ONLY Five Disney Rides Tinkerbellarella Has NEVER Ridden

5. Primeval Whirl
4. Triceratop Spin
3. The Magic Carpets of Aladdin
2. Astro Orbiter
1. The Teacups

Notice a theme?

A spinny, dizzy, theme?

:crazy2:

I've done all of those, and your not really missing anything. I haven't done the teacups or Astro Orbiter in years, but the others I get sucked into riding with my nieces. Aladdin and the Triceratop are pretty passive rides. I actually enjoyed Aladdin though. I'd keep angling the carpet to try to hit my niece with the spitting camel. Yep, that's the kind of aunt I am. She loved it and the two of were giggling like crazy when we got off.

LOL! I'd be the same kind of aunt. :goodvibes

I actually haven't ridden Dumbo, either, in at least 19 years...possibly 24 years!!! I can't remember if I rode it when I was 12 or not. I may try to hop on that cute elephant this trip!

Igor is expected to be back down to a Cat. 3 storm and hanging around Bermuda Sunday morning. Still looking great for my flight plans! Julia isn't looking like she even needs to be a consideration.

YAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!:thumbsup2

Notice those T-storms disappeared? Hmmm...I know better than to believe THAT 100%. It's Florida. In August. I'll be expecting some sprinkles around 3 p.m. ::yes::

In August? In what alternate universe do you live?!?!:confused3 I have had t-storms in September, and then I have not had thunderstorms in September. So....it's possible! (Though, if the heat is anything like that time last year....you will be praying for some rain!)

 EXACTLY what I was thinking!! Wow...even the teacups, huh?! I consider them a necessary evil, at least once in your life! But I do understand....

I loved all the food lists too. Made me hungry. Each of the 10 or so times I read them

Woo Hoo!! Only 4 workdays!! That is so great! And kudos on all the prep you've accomplished, including the personal grooming ;) Trust me, you are not alone on that front. All important stuff!!

Hope the time flies for you until you get to Disney Eve!!

Right?! Good catch. Of course I meant September. Going back to edit...:moped:

Believe me, I've been tempted but so far, no dice.

Speaking of hungry...how is your week shaping up? Or are we shooting for after my return so I can drown my post-Disney sorrows in some meatballs?

Hope the time flies for you until you get to Disney Eve!!

Thanks! I promise to leave the World in good shape for your quickie trip!

Just an update to say that BF got to do a practice run for the Physical Abilities Test (which is next week) today. He passed all the events with flying colors. The only one they can't practice is the dark maze (because they could just memorize the twists and turns for next week's actual test). Matter of fact, after he completed the forcible entry piece in 5.5 seconds, the instructor looked at him and said, "D*mn! You've got a whole lot of upper body strength!"

And if you know my BF, you know this is true. He's very broad in the shoulders, the back...sigh. :cloud9:

ANYHOO!

So, that means things look good for next week. This is the only thing standing in the way, for him and the 45 other trainees, of the academy on 10/12! His appointment is next Tuesday at 9:30 a.m. I'll be wandering around Epcot waiting for his call!

NICE!!:thumbsup2

.

Great news about BF!!!!! I'm sure neither of you had any doubts, but it's always nice to ace the practice run.

The Astro Orbiter is evil. I don't mind the spinning, but those little rockets are TEENY TINY! Joe and I made the mistake of squishing into one on our honeymoon.

5 Rides/Attractions I've Never Done

1) Haunted Mansion
2) Aladdin
3) Voyage of the Little Mermaid
4) Circle of Life film
5) Kali River Rapids

I can't even remember when I've ridden Dumbo last. I'd venture to guess that I only rode it on my first trip way back when I was only 8. That was probably the only time I was ever out to Tom Sawyer's Island too.

I may have to remedy that one of these days.

And it's a great boost for his confidence!

Joe and I made the mistake of squishing into one on our honeymoon.

Oh how I wish the Tag Fairy was here for that one. :lmao:

1) Haunted Mansion

Seriously?! Fly down next week. You NEED to go on this. Wonderfully classic Disney.

3) Voyage of the Little Mermaid

Haven't done this in a while. Will probably try for it this trip.

4) Circle of Life film

Not a must see, but a cute little film. I miss Food Rocks more, though.

5) Kali River Rapids

Worth it just to walk through the queue. It's SO well themed.

That was probably the only time I was ever out to Tom Sawyer's Island too.

I visited that for the first time as an adult a couple of trips ago. It was a nice break in the day. Peaceful. Lots of shade. I only wish Aunt Polly's had been open. An ice cream would've made it perfect!

YAY!! Nice job BF!!!:thumbsup2

I'm so stinkin' proud of him. :goodvibes

FIVE DAYS!!!!!!!!!!

How much do I love the dancing broccoli?!!.......:upsidedow You're right of course, nutrition should be balanced.

.

Fun dancing folic acid!!!

The only one of your five rides I have ridden is the teacups! The rest go up much too high for me.

Yeay for BF! Great news about how well he is doing in the practice sessions!

Brook, I thought you were going to ride HM with Leslie. :(

5. Primeval Whirl
...
:crazy2: Leo made me ride it for the first time last week. It's the Wild Mouse on steroids. I don't recommend it.

Just an update to say that BF got to do a practice run for the Physical Abilities Test (which is next week) today. He passed all the events with flying colors.
Fantastic! :cheer2:

Five days! And I need a little of that dancing nutrition today!

I take it you don't like to spin? Oh, and while you are taking money out of the bank, send a little to me.

 the dancing brocoli-my 4 yr old said-those are green bananas with a lid LOL

Congrats to ur man-I bet he will do great!!

I am with ya on PW and AO-I do the teacups if it is only me-the others are ok

Brokk I am stunned really

Brook, I thought you were going to ride HM with Leslie. :(

I was supposed to. :guilty: But sadly, it remains undone.

I do PLAN to do it. I'm not scared of it anymore (mostly! ;))...you guys have convinced me that it's campy silly fun. I won't avoid it next trip!

(I almost didn't want to post this knowing I'd be ruining something from the TR!)

Wow, Brook, I am SHOCKED that you haven't yet ridden HM. It's one of my earliest ride memories, and such a key part of the MK! Tink is right. Get theeself there ASAP!!

Tink, check your PMs ;) I think we'll be shooting for tomorrow, if that still works? I'll let you know as soon as I get the a-okay from our friend.

Bravo to the BF on the great showing on the practice run! I'm sure the confidence boost will help BOTH of you get through this! Any news on your third floor apartment?

Mmm...onion rings. Yet another food I can't eat right now. Dang milk allergies.

Anyhoo, enough about me and on to you!!! You're going to Disney World!!!!

Let's party. :banana::banana::banana:

Well, I may be  on the outside, but inside I'm a wee bit :sad1: I'm going to miss my girl Tink, even if you will call me lots.

And I had to chuckle a bit over BF and the test. When I read about the upper body strength, I thought, well, duh. :lmao:
