Ringing in 2010, 6 months til we'll be back again

I am right there with you MeMom about your "favorite" park. My favorite is wherever I am :goodvibes Although may I add that another reason for Epcot is all of the food options ;) Very well said  Hope you are having a wonderful Friday!!

Tracy

I have a question for you MeMom. Currently we're booked in a family suite at ASMu for our September trip. But we're thinking about switching to Pop in a regular room to save money. I'm retired on a fixed income and my daughter is a teacher and the furlow days have hurt her family's income. The only thing we're worried about is fitting 3 adults and a 3 year old in one room. I think my gs would love the theming at Pop but we don't want to feel crammed in the room. What do you think?

Terri

I guess it depends on how well you get along and how much time you'll spend in the room. I would be in the middle on that one - I'd switch to Pop, but have two rooms. That is still cheaper than an ASMusic suite, but it gives you four beds, two bathrooms, and your own doors. Jill and I and the girls do great with one room, but when you add another adult, either John or if John weren't there and either Trent or Drew was, we'd go for two connecting rooms.

I think you would like Pop, but you could still have plenty of space for less money even if you get two rooms.

We did just get one room when my friend, Kay, went with us, and we did fine, but I slept on the floor, because I'm not comfortable sleeping with someone else. Other than the bed situation, we did okay. I showered at night, and they varied as to when they showered, and it worked just fine. You could probably do just fine, but you could meet in the middle on your options with two rooms at Pop and still cut your cost.

Maybe other people will give you their thoughts. Join in, anyone.

We did enjoy Food & Wine Festival sampling. I'm just waiting for Jill to be able to verify her October dates, and we'll be ready to book again and try some more samples.

It was then decided that Jill, John, and Bella would go back to the room and get everything all packed up, and Brooklynn and I would hang out at Magic Kingdom a little longer and see Tiana's Showboat Jubilee.

Being entertained by these guys in the middle of Main Street on a beautiful day does not make it easy to leave!

I just saw on Facebook that Dimitri, the son of Lovemy3babes, fell yesterday and hit his head. He hasn't felt well since, and the scan is showing a spot they feel they should watch. They are monitoring him at the hospital, so keep them in your thoughts and prayers that all will be well. :)

Thanks MeMom - I didn't mean to hijack your thread but I do appreciate your input. :worship:I really thought that the suite was cheaper than 2 rooms, but you're right, it is a little cheaper. I talked to my daughter tonight and she thinks it's a good idea but wants to discuss it with my sil, who I'm very close to, before we decide anything.

And I would love to hear from anyone else who has thoughts on this.

I will definitely keep Lovemy3babes in my thoughts and prayers

Terri

I just had to share this photo of Caleb I took tonight! Its even Disney related...he has on a mickey shirt...but don't know if you can see it or not! LOL!

Being a silly boy!

I hope to hear good news about Dimitri soon. I'll keep him and the whole family in my thoughts.

Tiana's show looked like so much fun! My kids would've loved that. I sure wish they'd kept it around at least for the spring/summer.

My favorite park is whichever one I am in on any given day. :)
I love Magic Kingdom for what it means to Brooklynn and because it is the essence of Disney. I love Epcot for the opportunities to learn about countries I will never see. I also love all of the educational aspects of that park. I love Animal Kingdom because I am fascinated by the animal world. Again, there are so many learning experiences here. I love Hollywood Studios for the entirely different vibe I get in that park - all the glitz and glamour of old Hollywood is fun, and the shows are wonderful. (If I had to give up a park, it would be this one, but I hope I don't ever have to give up a park.) Depending on my mood, each one of them can be my favorite park in so many ways.

Well said. I have been asked what my favorite is and I have a similar answer. I have tried to answer "if you could go only to one park and/or one attraction which is the must do?" For me it would depend on so many things, the time of day, week, year and my mood. I just hope it never comes down to only one thing.

If you can do 2 rooms at Pop and come out cheaper than ASmu then I say go for it. I think you will have that privacy you need and yet with connecting rooms have the togetherness. Nothing beats a good night sleep.
Do you need the kitchenette? Losing that would be a drawback but you can get a fridge in a swap perhaps? Does having the kitchenette matter more than 4 real beds and not pull outs? If you are looking at square footage that 2 pop rooms have more that the suite.

Looks like we might just miss each other. :sad1: I love October. I wanted to try to get to an early MNSSHP when I am hoping to be there in Sept. but they are not starting until the 14th. Hopefully then that week may be quiet and not crowded, with some great rates.

I loved the Tiana's jubilee!! Hollie thought it was so cool!!!!!!!! I love your pictures from it!

Praying for Demetri...I really hope he is alright!!

Oh, and Jill and MeMom.....I just posted my last day and I put a picture of someone that you both might know ;)

The kitchenette is not a big deal to me. my dd wants a fridge to keep milk in for my gs, but even if we can't get in on a fridge swap it's still cheaper if we rent one for a week. I think we'll probably end up with 2 rooms at Pop, but we're gonna think on it for a few more days.

Terri

MeMom also took a little bit of video of Tiana's show.

John and I headed back to the room to finish packing and loading the van. Bella fell asleep on the bus so I called the front desk at about 10:45 and asked if it would be possible to get a later checkout. They said not a problem. We could have the room until 1:00 which worked out very nicely.

Prayers and best wishes for Demetri and family. I hope everything turns out ok.

I hope they still have something special with Princess Tiana and Prince Naveen! I think it might be my new favourite!

We have that issue all the time since we are a family of five and the babes are no longer babes. We went away for spring break and we had planned on getting a cot for one of the girls. No cots available for the room. Darn. So all the girls slept on ONE bed....fortunately it was a queen or they never would have all fit! I think that's the main reason we end of now staying off property in the Windsor Hills house. Its huge and when you split it two or three ways its too reasonable to give up!!! However you also give up the dining plan :sad2::sad2: so you pay oop for all food. With all of this said, I would most definitely agree that two rooms at POP is a great alternative especially if you get a good deal under $100/nite. :woohoo:

When I saw this pic I had a sudden flashback. Do you remember when they used to do a skit with a cowboy or something and a bad guy "shooting" each other and the cowboy or someone fell from the roof here (onto a mat we couldnt see). :confused3 I remember watching that with my mom when I was 6 or 7 yrs.. :flower3: I guess nowadays its all too real and they had to suspend the show. :scared:

That's what all of us are here for - to help each other out. That's for anything from Disney (or other) vacation planning or whatever else we can help with. :)

Tiana's show looked like so much fun! My kids would've loved that. I sure wish they'd kept it around at least for the spring/summer.

I wish they would have kept it, too. I suppose it might be going around from park to park worldwide to celebrate the movie, but I don't know.

Thanks for adding in your advice on the room situation for teedee.

It only last a couple of months. Hopefully, the meet and greet will stay.

I think the only cowboy falling show that I have seen was in Gatlinburg somewhere, but I am old and my memory can be fuzzy.

The costumes in the show were just awesome, and the music speaks for itself - incredible!

The FB update on Dimitri is that he had a 102 fever, was confused, and had thrown up, so they are diagnosing it as a concussion right now. Keep them on your mind today. I'm glad they are at the hospital with plenty of good care. We will update as we can for those not on her FB.

I say 2 rooms at pop over the suite. Done both. Pop is better.

I do remember the cowboy stunt guy!!!!!

Dimitri is in my prayers. kids should never get hurt!:sad2: Thanks for keeping us posted.

Couple of weeks and you are in Disney!

My favorite park is whichever one I am in on any given day. :)

Yep, same here -- my favorite park is always wherever I am or whichever pictures are being highlighted in trip reports on any given day. For example, this morning it's Magic Kingdom since I just read your update.

And the frog hunting guys in the swamp.

Yes, they are! So many humorous parts to that movie!

Poor little Dimitri! Lots of prayers headed his way!

I agree Brooklynn! I think the sidekicks in that movie truly "make it" the movie it is!

Sending lots of prayers that the concussion heals quickly!

Seeing your pictures, and knowing you were leaving shortly afterwards, makes me a little sad. It's strange how you can be in a magical, happy place, but the last day, last walk back up Main St. can be such a sad feeling. I miss it before I ever leave the park! :goodvibes

Hoping Dimitri is safe and healing up quickly.

Then we will definitely all try to meet up! We fly in late on the 30th. I think our plane lands at like 11:00 so we will not be setting the alarms for the morning, however, I do have my two small blonde alarm clocks that I'm sure will be up and ready to go. Let us know your tentative plans for that day and we will see if we can't work something out for a quick meet!

I do believe it is. Is he not a doll????

Let us know how you feel about rope drop. We know it's not for everybody, but it is definitely the way to go for us!

We'll plan a meet, then. :goodvibes

Our guys have not been over to Old Key West, so that would be a good place for us. We can come over and just get food or ice cream at Good's and eat out by the water. If you are willing to show us your OKW room, we'd love to see it. We'll just tentaively plan for an afternoon or early evening meeting at OKW, and we can change it later if we need to.

July 1st (as of now still) is our last day so we will probably just be hanging around not wanting to leave; we never get on the road before 7pm (and more often than not, later than that) so we are open to anything. :)

I thought he might be your Naveen, MeMom, I recognized him from your pictures. ;) I have more pictures that will go up on my TR when I ever get to our MK day...:rolleyes1

If you still have my number from when I texted you some pictures, I'd love to get some from you guys...I'm pretty sure I can put some up on your TR, as well, if you'd like.

Hope you're all enjoying your weekend and Margot's bday!

And hoping for a quick recovery for Dimitri.
