I finally saw the trailer. I don't understand why there are CGI dwarves. I thought it was going to be real actors.
I think the live actors were used for the motion capture technology, similar to what they did with Avatar.

I heard Rachel Zegler's song Waiting On A Wish from Snow White on Apple Music today and when I heard this song it gives a kind of Let It Go from Frozen-like vibe and what I think the song will be like what Let It Go became hyped when Frozen came out in 2013. But every talk show from The View to Good Morning America has high hopes for Snow White when it opens on the 21st. But if it gets high praise Disney might make Snow White II in a few years

I got to listen to some of the Snow White soundtrack on Apple Music today and from what I heard the songs sound like they come from a Broadway play on Snow White and Rachel Zegler is better than Adriana Caselotti because she actually sings really marvelous as Snow White and when you listen to Rachel's version of Whistle While You Work she knocks a home run of the ballpark and makes Snow White sound nice. But the other songs are weak and I don't know how Gal Gadot can sing because her song is really out of place. They should've put I'm Wishing/One Song and Someday My Prince Will Come in the movie. Even my mom disliked the songs and in her point of view she thinks the movie is gonna fail. I guess Disney thinks that Snow White will win awards in their eyes

Here's the thing, The View and Good Morning America are both ABC, which is owned by Disney. It kind of makes sense that ABC shows would be promoting and trying to create positive anticipation for the corporate overload. Have you been hearing high hopes for the movie from shows that are not on ABC, because that would be important.

To be honest, the original classic movies, including the original Snow White, that I grew up on back in the 1980s and 1990s are far better as for me. I sure wish I can borrow Emmitt Brown’s “Doc” DeLorean time machine and travel back to the times when these classics were in theaters and watch them there.

I think judging by it's first week in theaters Snow White will get the number two spot and what I think will happen is that Snow White will be debuting a month or so later on Disney+ because they will give Snow White the same treatment they gave Disney's Onward and Disney/Pixar's Soul when they debuted during the pandemic. I mainly think Disney is expecting Snow White to make money so they can have a successful movie finally. But like Lightyear and Strange World Snow White is gonna probably get third place in top movie openings this week. By the way when any of you went to see Snow White today at the theaters how packed were your theaters? Did you get a lot of people watching it today?

“I mainly think Disney is expecting Snow White to make money so they can have a successful movie finally… “

Have you seen the box office numbers for “Mufasa” and “Moana 2”. I think they’ve reached the successful bridge already.

I think Disney hopes that Snow White will introduce a new generation of fans to the animated version and as the original watchers of the animated film that were children when Snow White And The Seven Dwarfs was released in 1937 are probably grandparents by now they want to show their grandchildren this movie and so I think the target audience for this Snow White film is mostly senior citizens who plan on taking their grandchildren to see the movie then showing them the original animated version of Snow White after seeing this version. But what's shocking about the movie is that there is NO merchandise or Snow White toys for the movie and like every other Disney film that has come out there always has been movie toys but for Snow White Disney missed the mark on teaming up with Mattel to release movie toys before the movie's release

The youngest viewers of the 1937 version are great-grandparents by now. 😅

I remember in the 1937 movie, the squirrels were hiding dirt under a rug snd then Snow White said “not under the rug”, so they swept the dirt into a mouse’s hole. That mouse was livid and threw the dirt back out. I laughed so hard at that. The 1937 version of Snow White is a trillion times better than the 2025 version.

Barring a change in audience post first weekend, it will not make enough to break even. With a budget in the $250-270M range and even with scaled back advertising/marketing it won’t come close to the $600M+ required to just break even.

Currently projected to top out in the $300-350M range at the box office. At least it will still get a piece of the D+ revenue for the studios but Disney is just ready to move on from this film.

Ziegler just couldn’t keep her mouth shut, she hurt this film no doubt. The little people controversial mess with Dinkledge didn’t help either. Disney just can’t win for losing right now. Maybe start going back to young hungry actors / actresses and tell them to promote the movie only, no personal opinions.

It's unlikely that any of that had much to do with it. I think it's really just a matter of there not being much of an appetite for the film these days and a reasonably muted ad campaign. Most people don't care about - or even know about - any of the so-called controversy at all.

Eh tbh I think it's a mix of both. For me this just looked like another stupid remake but there are plenty of people who refused to see this due to one or all of the controversies.

I think "remake fatigue" could definitely be a factor, but the percentage of the movie going audience that actually pays attention to the "controversies" is pretty low. Deadline did an article about the performance in "red areas" vs. "blue areas" and it wasn't even very different. It seems like families with young kids/girls went to see it, but it didn't have much appeal to the young adults and such.

Or make something that looks visually appealing. Create a movie that wows the audience with spectacular visuals in the trailers instead of something that looks awful and makes me think Generative AI was used extensively and not the incredibly talented Disney creatives.

I can guarantee that we will see an early release of Snow White straight to Disney+ in May or June because I think Disney wanted Snow White made was to honor the christening of the Snow White Scary Adventures ride at Disney Parks to Snow White's Enchanted Wish and as with Disney movies and direct to DVD sequels they used to release them in honor of the opening of a new ride at Disney Parks "Like Buzz Lightyear Of Star Command which was released after a Buzz Lightyear themed attraction debuted at Disneyland" And Disney thought that with the christening of Snow White's Enchanted Wish this was the right time to market development for a live-action Snow White movie. But honestly I don't know why live-action versions of Disney classics are all Disney seems to be obsessed with. I guess they see that these types of movies do well and better than animated movies. I also think that due to the failure of Snow White the animated Snow White And The Seven Dwarfs will be given the same treatment as Disney did to Song Of The South and anything and everything Snow White And The Seven Dwarfs will disappear in a few years or decades from now

Not really. Lilo & Stitch will do well. Moana is up after that with the Rock. Hercules is in the works.
