I will say that even if I don't always agree with it, at least for most of their live actions, Disney does make some tweaks or additions to the story.

The trailer for the "live action" How To Train Your Dragon looks to be pretty much exactly the animated version with no changes.

I still think SW will flop, but at least it's not identical just with people.

Honestly, the vast majority of the movie-going audience won't care about or even know about any of the statements made by actors, etc. The movie may fail, but that won't be why. I do feel like this one is a tough sell because there isn't so much nostalgic affinity for the original anymore, and it feels like the live-action remake trend may be on the decline. I honestly think it could do okay, but with a $300M+ budget, I see it's odds of financial success as pretty long. Maybe it if has a big-time hit song in it, it will grow some legs, but I feel like we might now that by now too.

I'm extremely convinced that movie is an advertisement for Epic Universe. It makes the most sense and it's releasing around the same time the park is opening.

I personally think Disney is obsessed with live-action versions of movies because in their eyes they think that live-action movies make more money than animated movies but they have done live-action remakes of animated movies before and it seemed to make Disney a ton of money. Look at the live-action 101 Dalmatians that debuted in 1996 and when that movie it did so well that Disney even created the sequel 102 Dalmatians and the reason why it did well was because of Glenn Close as Cruella. But I think with Snow White if it gets a good reaction Disney probably will make a Snow White II in the future. I mean Disney is doing the same thing with the live-action The Little Mermaid by developing a live-action version of The Little Mermaid II. Disney should focus on creating more animated movies that are original and have good storylines. But I think if Snow White makes money Disney will begin it's miracle year because it's about time that Disney began it's miracle year in movies
Do you agree?

This is a good site for reference. As far.as live action vs animated ... In general, animation does much better. As far as the cruella movies ... Look where they rank...https://movieweb.com/disney-live-action-remakes-box-office-results/

What new songs are gonna be featured in Snow White? And who's gonna be the songwriter/composer for the new songs in Snow White? Hopefully not Lin-Manuel Miranda again. Because it seems that every single live-action Disney movie seems to use him as a songwriter/composer and the films get disliked because of Lin-Manuel Miranda. They're probably gonna use the same songwriter that wrote the songs of Disney's Wish. And I think Disney also dreads that Snow White will be another failure like Lightyear Strange World and Atlantis The Last Empire and the stellar Wish. Because when you get the general picture I think people like live-action movies because they're easy to make rather than animated movies and as I mentioned Rachel Zegler will become an even bigger household name due to Snow White just like Ariana DeBose did thanks to Wish and due to The Princess And The Frog Anika Noni Rose has made an even bigger name for herself and with Rachel Zegler people hope the exact same thing due to Snow White

I don't know which songs, but they will use some of the originals and new songs by they guys who did Dear Evan Hanesn, Pasek and Paul. They also worked on the additional songs for the live-action Aladdin.

January 2025, it was revealed that Jeff Morrow had composed the score for the film.

Which live action films are disliked because of the music of LMM? He only did the music for two of them, and they are both very successful … The 2021 Little Mermaid, where has teamed with Alan Menken for three songs, and Mufasa.

Again, as much as people say this, moviegoers have shown a very clear preference for sequels and remakes. The remake fever may be dying down a little, but sequels are still hot. Disney has learned that original fare will not do well at the box-office, but sequels will (see Inside Out 2, Moana 2). I woudl prefer more originals too, but we get the movies that we deserve.
Well, to be fair, both of those movies were original within the last decade.

Snow White will also receive it's share of marketing even before the movie hits theaters with merchandise such as dolls by Mattel McDonald's Happy Meal promotions and there will be Snow White valentines released for Valentine's Day and all this marketing will make Disney score huge money. Because when you make a movie that attracts families merchandise based on the movie sells big time. But after we saw with the live-action Alice In Wonderland with Johnny Depp and Oz The Great And Powerful I think Disney needs to know that sometimes remakes of movies are okay but how some new original animated movies that families can watch with their kids. I also see that Disney+ will probably show Snow White after a month in theaters possibly in March

I also think why Disney chose to do a live-action version of Snow White was to see how successful it would become but what they should've done was make a live-action Hercules or Atlantis The Lost Empire first rather than Snow White. Because for some reason live-action fairy tales seem to score high for Disney and Disney thinks that these types of live-action movies seem to sell big. But in Snow White's case Disney wanted to cash in on the popularity of Snow White because Snow White And The Seven Dwarfs was indeed Disney's first ever animated princess movie and I can guarantee even if Snow White fails in theaters Snow White will regain a bigger fanbase and become the most popular of the classic Disney Princesses again

Prepare to see Wicked-like hype of this Snow White movie everywhere, both in the parks and in other retailers. But that's just a marketing standpoint. Snow White isn't the hottest of the Disney princesses, so it's going to take a little bit more push to persuade the potential audience to go see the movie. It's been a mixed reaction from the public nonetheless.

In my opinion, I'm gonna beware the Evil Witch as far as this goes for either the live action Lilo & Stitch movie or maybe just check out Moana's sequel.

I remember when Snow White was the most popular Disney Princess and you would see Snow White almost anywhere in Disney Princesses when the Disney Princess line first began in the 90's with Princess Aurora and Cinderella but I think due to the Snow White movie as I mentioned earlier in a post Snow White will regain popularity again because after all Disneyland rechristened Snow White's Scary Adventure ride as Snow White's Enchanted Wish in 2022 so I see as another poster mentioned a Wicked type of hype for Snow White when it debuts in theaters in March. I also think Disney wants to show that this live-action Snow White will make lots of money and hope that they regain people to enjoy their movies once again

I don’t think people have stopped enjoying their movies.

Once Disney's Snow White hits theaters March 21 I think it will be promoted a lot and as I mentioned in my earlier post Disney Parks will have a live-action Snow White character make her debut in the parks like they did when the live-action The Little Mermaid came out and they had the Ariel character. Because even though some people may call this Snow White a failure Disney will make Snow White a popular Disney Princess again because even though Snow White started the Disney Princess line in 1937 she has been forgotten at times being replaced by Cinderella Aurora Belle Ariel Jasmine and Tiana but it's time Snow White becomes the popular Disney Princess again

I saw the trailer for Snow White and it looks unappealing to me and I don't see how Snow White will do on it's opening day on March 21st and to me it looks like a copy of the original Brothers Grimm Snow White and one of the scenes that was shown in the trailer shows Snow White riding with the dwarfs in a mine cart like fans do in the Seven Dwarfs Mine Train ride and I don't recall Snow White riding a mine cart in the original movie. The only people that this movie will attract are the Snow White fans of the original animated film so I think Disney will take a wild guess and call it the worst adaption of a classic animated film

My 6yo niece is SO excited for this and that's what matters. :earsboy: She cannot stop talking about it. I just gave her my new D23 magazine since it's on the cover.

The release date happens to fall on our family Disney trip and she's like, "Tio.. you have to find a movie theater near Disney World so we can see it." She doesn't know about the one in Disney Springs... 😂

Honestly, I kinda want to see it just because of how many people have been bashing it. I am generally not a fan of the remakes - I mean, they are innocuous but I'd just rather watch the animated ones - but I feel like the reasons people are hating on it just aren't warranted. It looks fine to me.

I finally saw the trailer. I don't understand why there are CGI dwarves. I thought it was going to be real actors.
