If you look at the numbers, it’s clear that Disney is focusing more on expanding its Deluxe and Deluxe Villa resorts rather than adding more Moderate or Value options. There are already over 17,500 rooms available in the Value and Moderate categories, while Deluxe and Deluxe Villas only make up around 10,000 rooms.
From a business perspective, this makes sense. Deluxe resorts generate higher revenue per guest, with guests willing to pay premium prices for accommodations, dining, and amenities. Meanwhile, the Value and Moderate resorts already provide plenty of options for guests looking for more budget-friendly stays. Since those categories are well covered, Disney seems to be prioritizing higher-end experiences that bring in more profit while still maintaining a range of choices for different budgets.
