What does Disney consider a costume?

My sis and I are going to DLR next week. We bought Christmas dresses (blue with snowflakes and fake fur around the neck and sleeves) because we like to feel festive and get good pics in the hotel (we're staying at GCH) and with Santa.

But here's the issue: we thought we'd wear the dresses to our F! dining package at RBT. My sis bought us capes to wear to keep warm and look cool with our dresses, but at what point does an outfit become a costume?

By costumes Disney is saying they don't want guests wearing clothes, hair and make up to look like Disney characters...although you'll see guests everyday dressed like Star Wars characters.

As long as you are not dressed like a character you will be fine. And as @purple figment said, for some reason guests get away with it in Galaxy's Edge.

Uh oh...these are full-length capes! I wonder if I can cut them off?? That's NOT something I want to do this close to our trip...or at all, ha ha! I already had to cut slits in the side seams so we could keep them up above our feet.

Those are beautiful! Please don't cut them. How about calling Disneyland Guest Services before your trip?

You'll look like queens! You could try wearing them in and just take them off if the CMs have an issue with them. I'm sure you can at least wear them at the Grand to see Santa.

This year I ordered White Christmas t-shirts for us (from the old movie--the "Sisters, Sisters" song) I got us fans to keep with the theme, but our fans are little things from the Dollar Store that I glued some feathers on and not the full-size version from the movie . That's what we're wearing, along with matching bottoms, to meet Santa

That sounds delightful. I have a poster of the "Sisters" song on my wall (that my sister gave me) and I gave my sister a personalized ornament of us dressed up like Betty and Judy for Christmas this year! Love the fan idea!

Oh, Diz, you will have to post your pics of both events! What night are you doing RBT? We have rezzies for RDZ for both Sat and Sun but im waiting to see how weather cooperates before canceling one of them.

Those capes are BEAUTIFUL ! Even though you are not dressed in costume, people are sure to think you are someone special (which you are!) and will be following you anyway! Cant wait to see those pics!

Yes. they're floor length (see pic I posted above). I'm thinking maybe we could just bring them with us and put them on when we're seated for Fantasmic dinner at Riverbelle. I guess we could go back to the hotel and change afterwards or keep a change of clothes in a locker and change them out after the shows.

We are going Sun the 15th at 7:15!

My sister wants us to wear tiaras. Yeah, not costumey at all, right?! Everyone who knows me calls me the tiara girl because I wear one anytime I can get away with it, LOL. I even have it on in my Driver's License picture, which I will post but I no longer wear glasses and I no longer have brown hair

They won't allow you to wear them in the parks but I am sure you could put them on while seated for Fantasmic.
