Week After Thanksgiving

It was a pretty good day!

And now about 5 hours later I'm standing freezing at the GCH entrance to DCA to join the 6am power walk through DCA...
Have fun! I just peeked out our hotel window and it looks windy out there. I'm hoping for a beautiful day.

That was a really fast walk. It’s a beautiful day right now though! And didn’t feel much of any winds walking through DCA. :)

People are already lining up at the GCH DCA entrance at 6.30 though - for EMH at 8! That’s a long time to wait...

Considering how crowded DL has become regularly, I think they picked an excellent day! I hope so because I will be there too.

I would make sure you explain the FB system, and encourage MaxPass. It made a huge difference for me in terms of my enjoyment!

Oh yes, I gave them the lowdown and even gave my mother-in-law a link to DIS so she could also read up for herself on how things work!

DD is napping and I’m resting my feet. Pushing a 5 yr old in a stroller is no joke.

We lined up for EMH at about 7:10 and we were three families back. We did RSR, Toy Story, Little Mermaid, GoTG, Mater, then RSR again before heading to DL at around 9:45. We had a fast pass for HM but it was down, still is actually. DD was so sad. She’s been talking about HM non stop for about two months now. I’m hoping it comes back up soon! We moved on to Splash, then Tarzan, Star Tours, and finally Buzz before taking a break.

It seems busy out there. I’m going to stack some passes now and then we have our parade dinner this afternoon.

It’s so sunny and warm. I’m soaking it all in.

We get there tomorrow night, with Wednesday our first day in the parks. Lots of rain in the forecast, but I don't care!

Almost done packing.

We also arrive late tomorrow (we fly out after a full day of school for my daughter). The rain in the forecast is not seeming very magical! I'm counting on Wednesday and Thursday to have good days since crowds will be bad Friday and Saturday. Although there's so much snow and ice on the ground here anything is looking good right now!

We fly out tomorrow too! I am stuffing all the rain gear in and trying to decide if I want a pair of shorts. Like you - it will feel much warmer than home!

We went Fri & Sat after thanksgiving. Arrived at noon each time. Saturday arrival was crazy. Parked in Mickey and Friend parking lot. the line to the trams was a 30 minute wait! We walked to the park instead.

we stayed from 12-5pm. Road 2 rides via Fastpass. Indiana Jones and IncrediCoaster. Had a nice lunch at Lamp Lighter bar. and relaxed w/ Dole Whip and Chocolate cake at Jolly Holiday Bakery. Sat back, relaxed and people watched the rat race.

Pretty packed those 2 days.

Having a great day so far! We did have to get escorted off Big Thunder when it broke down and then it broke again while we were in line but we got additional multi use FP’s. It was kind of cool to see some of the stuff we did while being escorted out! We literally walked through the ride/set! Hoping it and Haunted Mansion are back up soon

It is not a slow day. Lines to get into Disneyland are very long. I’ve heard mondays are busy... it was slower this time yesterday.

Definitely feels busier today than yesterday to me too! RSR hit 120 minutes earlier today, whereas I think the most I saw yesterday was around 75 minutes (not watching closely to be fair though).

We leave tomorrow from PDX. Hoping to be in the parks tomorrow evening. The rain forecast is really bothering me, but hopefully it will affect the crowds in a good way!

HM never made it back up today. I wonder what on earth could have kept it down all day. Hoping tomorrow is better.

I’m beat. Today was busy and doing it alone with DD, who was really pretty great all day, was exhausting. Off to bed early. Fireworks tomorrow, before the rain shows up...

We’ve been going hard since 8:00AM! Everyone is tired but we had a great day. Fingers crossed HM is back up tomorrow

So it looks like it’s going to start raining Wednesday night and through Thursday. Just bring your ponchos and rain boots, so you don’t get your socks wet, and you’ll be fine! The crowds will be lighter too so that’ll be great :umbrella:

Wow today has been seriously busy. It feels busier than yesterday, though I was doing yesterday at more odd times (first thing in the morning and last thing at night). Parade viewing was nuts, and fireworks viewing currently looks nuts. Not sure if Disneyland is always like this but it feels way more nuts today than WDW has ever been (and I've been at WDW the week after Easter when crowds were 10/10). Possibly because it's a smaller park...

Yes today was nuts for both parks. Spent most of the day at CA before hitting Disney later. The wife and I did single rider when we could. Just too long of lines. I heard it was like this last year as well but then Tuesday-Thursday were great for us so expect the next two days to be much slower in terms of crowds

My mother-in-law texted me this morning that she screamed her head off on Space Mountain, lol.
