We've always stayed in hotels. This will be our first time renting a timeshare condo. We are staying at Summer Bay Resort (2 bedroom - 2 bath for $249 / wk thru AFVC). I called to try to find out what is provided, but received really vague answers. So I'm turning to the experts.

It lists a "full gourmet kitchen" & washer / dryer. We really only plan on eating breakfast & evening snacks there...and maybe reheat leftovers. What does the kitchen provide? (Dishes, cups, utensils,...?) I imagine sheets & towels are included. But posts around the web lead me to wonder about the following items.

hand soap
bath soap
paper towels
toilet paper
tissues
trash bags
salt / pepper
any coffee stuff?
If they are provided, is it enough for the week?

I've got the following ready to go...(do I need these?)
laundry tabs
dryer sheets
dishwashing pads w/ soap built in (disposable)
windex wipes
various ziploc bags

Since we are flying, I'm trying to limit what we take.

Also, would appreciate any breakfast / snack ideas that would limit what I need to bring or buy when arriving. It's just DH & I (both 40) and my parents (both 73).

Thanks.

Summer bay will provide most of your list - but not spicies - so bring your own salt, pepper and other stuff.

some resorts provide coffee for a couple of days then you are own your own.

definitely bring your ziplock bags.

Summer Bay will provide - paper towels, toilet paper, tissues, etc.

If you think you will need the windex wipes bring them.

there is a Publix close by - I would shop there.

AL charges a tax on groceries - FL does not - so generally I can get a bigger variety at lower prices in FL.

if you are going during Thanksgiving week - be aware that WDW has added hours to the MK - so if that is on your list - get there EARLY and be prepared to stay. (bring a backpack with foods, water, snacks)

We are also checking into the afvc. They have remarkable deals. Do you find that the info they supply is rather vague? Many times I'm not sure where the resort is actually located in reference to WDW.

Please let us know how Summer Bay is. We are interested in this property.

you can go look the resorts (timeshares only) at

www.rcicommunity.com (I think) - if this doesn't work I will ask.

you can join and be a member for free.

You don't have to join a timeshare or be a regular member of RCI to join this.

Plus to get to read other opinions - but don't base yours on this.

Some timeshares owner are down right spoiled....They expect the best - one person down graded a resort because the air condition filters were not changed before HER arrive.....

So look at all the reviews - not just the negative ones.

In my limited experience (2 timeshare stays), I wouldn't count on hand and bath soap. That's considered a toiletry.

Enjoy your trip!

We haven't actually stayed at Summer Bay, but based on stays at Orange Lake and HGVC, here's what I think based on your list:

Bath & hand soap: bring what you're used to...they may provide the hotel sizes of those, however

Paper towels, TP. tissues: they provided this, and we had enough

trash bags: they provided a couple of white kitchen size bags...I think it was enough, but we may have used grocery bags too.

Salt/Pepper/spices: we brought ours

Coffee: sorry, don't drink it, but I *think* there was at least a packet or 2 of some by the coffee maker.

Laundry tabs/dryer sheets: I'd bring these if you have them...they provided 1 or 2 mini boxes of detergent, but we did more laundry. There were no dryer sheets provided.

Dishwashing stuff: They provided liquid detergent and dishwasher tabs or powder packets for a couple of loads. Also a dishcloth or sponge.

Windex wipes (or cleaner of some sort): none provided, bring your own if you want it.

Ziploc bags: definitely bring your own--they aren't provided, but come in really handy!

Regarding breakfast/snacks, we had bread, butter, frozen waffles, milk, cereal, etc. We drove and brought non-perishables with us, and then bought the milk and frozen stuff there.

Good luck and have a great trip!

:D
