Three Things...Gratitude Thread

Good Tuesday Morning

#1 - Pens & Pencils - When I watch anything historical or Harry Potter movies and see them writing with quills, it makes me think how glad I am that pens & pencils were invented.

#2 - Pizza Night - I’m grateful for the actual pizza too, but I’m especially grateful for pizza night, which is Sunday nights. It’s my most relaxing evening of the week - eating pizza, sitting in my recliner, watching TV. My DD21 does this too in her apartment. She told her BF that the only night she eats pizza is on Sundays - LOL!

#3 - Pam - The nonstick spray. I only thought of this because I need to buy some at the store today. When the can runs dry, it’s very missed.

Purses - nay have an addiction on this one with those Disney Dooney & Disney Harvey bags & Vera 🤪😊 is 20 too many ? Is it addiction level ? I think not but isn’t that what they all say 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣

No, no it is definitely not (moves quietly in front of large plastic bin full of purses/bags).

In addition to seconding purses, pizza, and pens...

paper (I love writing stuff by hand)
plums
Pop Tarts

Purple- currently my favorite color.

Pansies- I love seeing their happy little faces, swaying in the breeze.

Printers- I am a hard-copy girl. Having too many windows/tabs open, swapping back and forth while I am trying to work, make me crazy. It's so nice to be able to print out a hard copy of things I need for grading (answer keys, for example). I also remember when one had to schlep to the library or Staples to make copies of things. My printer is also a copier (and scanner) and it makes my life easier to be able to do this from home.

"Park" - We have two high schools in our town. The older of the two just carries the town name. Ours carries the town name followed by "park." When we cheer for our school, it's usually things like "GO PARK!"

Parties - I don't do much (really any) of this now, but after having DD18 home for a week and discussing the impacts she could have on her new social affiliations, I was reminded of much I used to love to plan and attend parties when I was around her age.

Planet Fitness - We belonged to one several years ago but it was too far for us to go as frequently as we'd like. So, we canceled our memberships. We just had a new one open about 5-7 minutes from home, which is making it so much easier to ramp up and vary my attempt to get back in shape. It's also so much more affordable than the other gyms near us.

Honorable Mentions...
- I'm with @WDWEPCOT and @PollyannaMom on purses, but I have been living in a belt bag for close to a year and a half now. So, my purse love (and urge to gratify that love) has waned. My mom did bring me a little bit of purse joy though that some of you might appreciate. Somewhere between 2010-2012, LeSportsac had a line of Disney bags that were It's a Small World themed. I believe they even partnered with UNICEF to donate some of the sales proceeds. In any event, while there were some that were land/region themed, the big three patterns (in my mind) had Mary Blair's concept art. I have several pieces, but my mom brought me a brand new WITH TAGS Kasey bag in the Wondrous Journey print from this series.
- Seeing @MartyParty post about Pappasito's reminded me that DH and I were just discussing how much we wish we had a Pappadeux's closer to our home. We have a Pappasito's and a Pappa's Seafood, but the closest Pappadeux's for us is inside the closest airport, past security. Seeing their post and the pepperoni rolls would also be a DH thing. He loves Double Dave's Pepperoni rolls.
- Parks...as in the National variety.
- Pyrenees...as in the Great dog variety.
- Potstickers...especially pork ones. Also thinking about Pierogies!
- Pathfinder...as in the one I was driving back in 2013 that shielded us from catastrophic injury after a bad accident.
- Greek Org - I have a love/hate relationship with it, but it also was a big part of my college life and had a big impact on who I am now. It begins with a P...well, when not using the Greek alphabet.
- Pets - I know lots of us love our furry family! Mine had her annual visit to the vet yesterday along with some other related health checks and a nail trimming. She hated me for a bit!
- Pineapple and Passion Fruit - My two favorite fruits.

OK- I'll stop. I have more, but lots of P things! :)

I am a print out person myself being in accounting it’s kind of required but my boss does not seem to understand that it’s always a bone of contention between the two of us he doesn’t understand that when you’re working with so many numbers you cannot be working between four screens and six documents to key the stuff you need an actual hard copy I’m just at the point now I’m like then you do it let me know how it works out for you I’m just done arguing about it no one has taken me up on this offer I’m like you just let me do my job and you go do your job and my job requires to print something out!! I recycle so you know I’m not killing the planet 🌎 very grateful for printers and paper!!!

Good morning dear friends :)

By my faith I am above all else beyond grateful to Jesus the Prince of Peace to me.

I'm grateful for you and your kind friendship dear PollyannaMom.

Pancakes for sure! I so look forward to enjoying my favorite warm pancake and cocoa breakfast again God willing once I'm back home.

Panoramic views..as a young child in Joshua Tree was surrounded by mountains and the Joshua Tree national monument... bureaucracy made it a park. And now out my front yard a majestic range of peaks

Picacho.. Mt picacho... Utah monument valley is what it looks like along interstate 8 in urban Yuma.... Many pillars reaching to the sky....though very far to the North and not an exit off the freeway

Paso Robles...a Amtrak Coast starlight stop to prepare your nap with a pillow on the window northbound as you have left the Pacific Ocean and climbed up a steep hillside.. photo worthy ... always in need of a nap... having caught the midnight train to Los Angeles on a platform in Yuma....14 hours later.. time for a nap

Happy Hump Day

I’m picking…,want to celebrate.

#1 - Otis (our puppy) turned 10 months old yesterday - This little guy really filled a void in our empty nest home.

#2 - DD21 Graduating College - The big day is May 10th. She’s the first person at her college to get her degree in 3 years. Then she’s off to grad school in August

#3 - DH and I will be celebrating our 30th anniversary - Anniversary day is 6/3/25. Time really flies - it’s hard to believe we’ve been married 30 years.

My Pets / I enjoy my pets people think I’m crazy to have gotten them at my age they’re like why would you get them blah blah blah and I’m like because I enjoy their company their antics entertain me and they bring me a lot of joy and happiness they also bring me a lot of aggravation because they’re always up to something and it’s usually not something you should be up to but they are very entertaining I just can’t imagine not having a dog and I never thought I was a cat person but I do enjoy having a cat it’s a bit of a story but I now have two

I like to create every now and then just so one day holiday sometimes you just need a day off work - you just need a day maybe go shopping maybe just clean your house maybe just not work make it your own little personal holiday sit and read a book just do whatever just not be working I like to have one of those every now and then I’m a bit overdue for one - this could be a scheduled vacation day it could be I’m sick today

I’m extremely grateful that I now have my peace I’m not gonna get into all of it I’m just gonna state then I’m extremely grateful for my peace and I’m not allowing anything to disrupt that

And as crazy as my job can be I’m extremely grateful for it ! My boss can be unbelievably generous and unbelievably mean on the same sentence🤣🤣🤣 but I’m still extremely grateful that my journey brought me to where I’m at now I don’t think I would be where I’m at now if not for my boss I’m very grateful I never imagined in my wildest dreams that I’d be able to accomplish what I have and I wouldn’t have been able to do it if not for my boss!!! Makes up for the time he so mean almost time it does🤣🤣

.... the number one road block we encountered when trying to sell the unplanned litter....we don't what a dog at our age...or the heart breaking of lost was grevious...so your right... what is the price for joy and happiness 😊 😊 😊

The House to Myself - Yeah, I still have to work, but DH went into the office today, DD16 is at school all day, and my in-office day was canceled. So, I've got the home to myself all day.

Weight Loss - Well, the scale didn't move nearly as much as I was hoping it would this week, but it did creep closer in the right direction and the shorts I'm wearing are fitting noticeably better than they did a couple of weeks ago. Trying to be grateful for baby steps, especially when deep down, I know that slow and steady is the best approach.

Family - It's really easy to take things for granted when you lead a busy life. It's also really easy to get annoyed at having a ton of family around when you're trying to juggle that busy life and spend time together. Still, there are little moments in all of it where you can truly appreciate all of it and realize how special it all is. I did a lot of juggling last week with DD18 home, my parents visiting, work schedules, trying to stay on track with workouts, and DD16s school/school ball demands. Yet, here and there, I had moments where I could pause a little and appreciate.

You know that’s the number one thing I keep hearing it like why do you want a dog at your age why wouldn’t I want a dog they are wonderful companions I have always enjoyed having a dog and I can’t stand not having a dog and I will say well this is the last dog I’m gonna get and then I get another dog and they’re like why did you get a dog You sorry you got a dog no I’m never sorry I got a dog I’m just so sorry when I don’t have a dog I’m always sorry when the dog passes I always enjoy having a dog and I’m gonna be sorry when this dog passes and I’m gonna have a hard time not getting another dog

Aw Happy Birthday yesterday Otis dear Slo! :)

Dad and I will enjoy a fantastic celebration God willing this coming April when I am able to go home and certainly when I'm back to normal.

Dad and I God willing have our special Disneyland trip to take which for sure will be a celebration.

Every breath to me is a gift from God and cause for thanksgiving to Him through how I live and l pray, serve Him.

Pina colada 🥥 🥥 holiday
...so are social unit here in Yuma wants one more tequila/dinner party in Mexico before heading home to the North and the more that come the easier it is to distribute legal medications with out extensive questions by customs... I don't drink the good sized inexpensive margaritas as the other do...rum is expensive..so no buzz on a cherry 🍒 🍒 topping Pina colada

Asst pastor end of farmers vendor market holiday

She has never been a vendor so has no idea of the culture of selling goods. She is 71 and finds it exhausting to deal with the variety of behavior of the seller. She shared yesterday in Bible study.. that Wednesday was going to be a holiday...as for me... I still have the down town market

End of summer 🌞 🌞 Holiday
We just had a 99 degree day.. scaring in that the desert 🏜️ 🏜️ winter started June 9 instead of July 4th...and that winter ended October 25...5 months huddle around the AC... confined to the house after 10:00 morning... what???? winter??? Yep . the torture you suffered during your winter is now our torture..so I call it winter 🥶 🥶 🥶 🥶.. there is no summer holiday here in Yuma
