Mr Mac went out for a walk and asked me to join him.

Told him I would take a pass as it’s too darn cold for me outside today.

When I lived in Chicago, weather would be bitter cold this time of year.
We would take walks all the time being bundled up and got used to it.

Times have changed for me since I moved south some years back.

I need it to be warmer than 50 before I do walks in the battlefield area near our house.

Watching game shows on tv to pass the time.
It’s something I haven’t done in years.

I`m ok if it`s frosty cold with sunshine, we walked in that yesterday, scarf, hat, gloves and winter warm clothes, it is very nice, but yes, if it`s windy too, that`s a big no no for walking for us. With us being right on the coast you can`t hide from that wind.

snow plow down the street almost a doz times already Mostly throwing salt. They pretreated most of last night. something to be said for having two councilmen as neighbors lol

spent most of day updating various medical related websites with new insurance info. I'm a good patient lol, even upload pics of the insurance cards Know the gals have enough to do beginning of each year verifying new coverage. Oddly, the pharmacy apps i use don't have that capability

picked out the sail date for my 'xmas present', in DCL treasure...in April...of 2026 Seems so far away, now to find a TA who will give a bit of love with an OBC.

Seems we have to get snow tonight into tomorrow, typical when we have to be somewhere, but that`s what four wheel drive cars are for I guess.

How fun organising that cruise, no I`ve never spoken to anyone who has used DU, using a TA is quite alien over here, I know many do use them in the States, hope you find someone who can help.

We had a parcel arrive for Kyle yesterday, wasn`t supposed to arrive till he was back at work next week, so yes, it was a nice surprise when he appeared.

lol...it should be fun, they also do other dances too, it just sounds fun as it`s for everyone, no partner necessary, some folks come on their own apparently and it`s something a little different for the New Year. J and I both have two left feet and no dance coordination but we both love dancing so we are looking forward to it. We might last one week and give up, but we hope it`s fun, haven`t line danced in many years!!





Yes, it`s a cold one this morning, but no snow till tonight into tomorrow although we`ll hope for it to be more rain than snow.

Looks to be a very sunny day, so might go out a walk this morning as there`s little to no wind, so along the sea front might be nice after breakfast, or sleeping beauty might give me a "you`re crazy" look as it will barely be above freezing.

Ironically having a cold dinner tonight, got some smoked salmon, shrimp, parma ham and some lovely Italian olives which will go nice with some rocket salad (arugula) garlic and rosemary bread I`m baking today. Lunch will be grilled sandwiches and poached eggs for breakfast on toast. But already on my second pot of tea, only a mini teapot, but will make a large pot for breakfast, only way to start the day for us.

But, it`s the weekend, or to us ladies of leisure....just another day to enjoy and a lazy one for us, definitely an afternoon for snuggling on the sofa with my husband watching old movies for sure

Quiet on here today, everyone must be doing something exciting, I feel quite dull staying home snuggled up watching movies all day now.

Heck no, love it really, perfect way to spend a day just me and my mister

No snow so far, looks like we might get some during the night, but looks more like rain tomorrow which is fine as we have to get out early for an appointment. Looks like we might get some snow later in the week, hope not though.

Just enjoyed our mini charcuterie, it was bliddy nice!!

Movie and an early night for us, not the most exciting Saturday night, but it`s far too cold to be going out in this cold, maybe I am getting old...lol

Made some lemon syllabub for dessert, will have that and then a pot of tea before putting the movie on.

Good evening everyone. Nothing interesting going on here. We are waiting to see how much snow and ice we are going to get. B is very thankful that she doesn’t have to work this weekend.

Christmas has been packed away and today we reorganized some of our kitchen cabinets and the china cabinet (which doesn’t contain any china). Our new teacups are now in the china cabinet.

Charade, 8 years before you need to replace the battery is great!

Unfortunately we had to replace entire keypad. We are going to try to remember to change the battery when we change the batteries in the smoke detectors.

I don't think there will be sleeping in tomorrow. I need to see about my cell phone. My plan is almost done - and with work, I get an awesome deal on a new one. So going to take advantage of that.

What kind did you get?

How is your daughter enjoying her work? Is she planning to stay put now?

Work is okay. She may stay there until she graduates unless she finds a better opportunity somewhere.

We also decided to go to Salsa dance classes next week, it starts back up on Wednesday night, no dance experience necessary, thank goodness I have two left feet and so does J. We heard it was a very friendly class for beginners. I doubt the husbands will join us, can`t see it somehow.

Sounds like fun. I’m completely uncoordinated though. I guess B got her dancing ability from dh’s side.

We want to do the Keys to the Kingdom tour. Dh wants the fireworks party on the top of the Contemporary. I’m a little nervous about that. I don’t do well with heights. We also want to try Hoop Dee Doo.

First it was 2-4 inches, now saying 4 to 6 inches starting in the wee hours of Monday morning. Joy. Not. But snow shovels are at the front of our garage, ready for that Monday dig out.

Yikes. I think we are supposed to get more ice than snow.



Did I mention that I reserved a room at the Grand Helios for next year? My trip starts exactly one year from today.

Snow, sleet, rain and bliddy cold here. We got back home from my appointment about 11am and it got steadily better as we got nearer the coast, now it`s just raining, but so cold out there, won`t be going back out anywhere today.

Had the last of the meat for charcuterie for lunch with some bread, dinner will be pork tenderloin in char suit style sauce with lo mein and stir fried veg, got some lovely Bok Choy form the village greengrocer, so I think it`ll be a lovely meal.

Black and white Sherlock Holmes movies this afternoon and maybe a snooze too.

Tom is making us a pot of tea, might have a treat with it.

She’s currently working on her master’s degree in public history. She’s not taking a full load of classes, so it will take some time for her to finish. Her dream job is to work in the Disney archives.

Good Sunday morning everyone








Hope everyone had a wonderful Christmas and New Year.

We are in the corridor of weather that is affecting the midsection of the US and are getting hit with cold temps and snow. It started this morning about 3 am. Not sure how much we will have when it’s over.

If the weather predictions are going to come to fruition we will have this front then another to follow in a couple days. Will take it as it comes. Snow is pretty. It is the icy roads that are the issue if those conditions show up.




We initially were supposed to leave for Florida tomorrow early am, but have had other things going on so will have to delay that maybe a couple of weeks before we leave.

I have most of the Christmas decorations down. Still have my tree up in kitchen and a couple of wreaths. I do love having the lights on. I will put the rest of the things away slowly.

Mac not sure if you are getting some of this snow too. Looked like you could possible get some too.

Ruth continued prayers for you and your family.

Janet and Schumi sounds like you both have been doing lots of cooking and entertaining. Everything sounded yummy.

Pumpkin I know you were glad to have your little granddaughter over night. Sound like you all had a wonderful time.

Charade glad to hear your hubby was home to help you get back in the house. I changed the battery on our keypad for our garage a few months ago. I had not had to change it for years. It is a wonder that something so small as a 9 volt battery can control opening such big garage doors.

Lynne hope you and you family had a nice Christmas and your hubby is continuing to get better.

Epic Universe is getting a lot of buzz on the stock programs as the biggest theme park opening in many years. That will keep the interest to attend this year really popular.

The grocery stores were slammed here in preparation for the weather. So I went out at 6 am yesterday morning to pick up just a few items. There is usuallly no one in the store that time of the morning, but there were more folks out shopping preparing for the weather.

Looking forward to seeing the Palm Trees and sun when we can take head south.

Made hubby his banana pancakes this morning. I’am enjoying a cup of coffee and a fruit smoothie.

Going to be lazy Sunday here. Nap is for sure in the cards later.

Still saying 2 to 4 inches of snow by the time we eat lunch tomorrow. And it is blessedly cold, given the Arctic blast of air that will stay most of this week into next.

DH wanted me to take him outside to walk. Um, honey, it’s 29 degrees out, but with the breeze, feels like 20 degrees. Nope, no way I’m going out to walk or take you either. But I can take you to the mall, to walk, if you want. He’s watching a screen instead. He’s still not walking without assistance, and he’s never been a fast walker, and that hasn’t changed, though assisted walk is even slower now. But at least our home has been changed, so he can get around without help. But we always want someone home with him most of the time, just in case he falls or needs something he can’t get. I am hopeful he won’t need his rolling walker, but only his head saying stand and walk without assistance, will let him. And so far, nope, but it has been less than a year, and the almost half year since it happened, he’s much better than when it happened.

Ah not quite the normal Sunday we usually have. Visited my sister yesterday, and kids are game watching this afternoon. And yes, blankets and warm clothes they took.

Alarm is set though, as very thankful tomorrow is a dedicated telework day. Though I assume when it wasn’t, we be allowed to telework tomorrow, as weather conditions in the morning will be more dangerous with snow on road and still falling. And from experience over the years, where I am, is cleared, and the line between my township and the city show where is it not clear. The city never really clears the roads and the city roads, never ever are as nice as my township and surrounding suburbs are. Hence, after some scary rides to and home, I am so glad, at first, getting a day off, and then, as now, allowing telework.

And while we will drag the trash to the curb, I assume we may not get pick up, until later in the day tomorrow. I hope the snow plow that will go by our street, will be not too long after the last of the snow falls.

Hehe, at least kids have a trip, then little one and me coming up soon. Keisha, may be able to wave to ya in that warmer, even if cooler than want, place. Mouse and potter both trips.

Robo, hope your DH is doing well now. And do not blame ya, for not leaving tomorrow. Safe travels when you do head South.

Ooh tea for me. Even with house warm, so enjoy my tea. And thinking of a lunch of soup and sandwiches for DH and I. Had a big, late breakfast. Had made bacon and spinach and cheese soufflés, and egg and bacon or sausage Italian bread sandwiches to fill the kids up, and the other two of us too. So a late lunch, as still feeling full. But maybe will make the soup and let it sit, until DH and I are hungry.

Ah end of the weekend. But a big yay, as 4 day one coming up at the end this week.

Nice to see you post Robbie, I was wondering how things were with you.

Yes, this cold is hitting so many people, a couple of inches can be dealt with, so hope you don`t get more than that and can get to Florida soon. Ice was the issue we had this morning, but thankfully it`s just rain now, cold though.

Yes, we love entertaining and having friends over, always a pleasure to cook and prepare food and have some lovely times together.

Hope your family members are all doing well, you had quite the time last year to deal with, it`s never easy.






Slept most of the afternoon away, it was so dark outside and poor Tom, again, I fell asleep and he wouldn`t move his arm as I was so comfy, bless him, think it`s back to normal now after being numb for so long!!!

Yep, still raining and very heavy so some areas will get flooding, we`re up higher so no issues usually for us but some of the country is getting dreadful weather here.

Pork tenderloin was lovely though, very tender and everything worked well together....always enjoy describing foods we eat, maybe too much it seems

Time to get back into normality of 2025 tomorrow, everyone is back at work and back to dealing with some lovely people and some real idiots, sadly part of life, but I often wonder what makes people like that tick, no sympathy though.

Yes, comes in handy for sure at times. One of our friends Henry is an immaculate dancer, we all think he could have been a professional, but he bought a haulage firm instead...no difference!!! We all love watching him when he gets up and does a turn.

Heights are not my friend either, strangely flights don`t bother me nor coasters when they`re going fast, but stand near the edge or on a bridge, legs go like jelly!!

Yesterday got a hideous combo food poisoning at Carrabbas for another birthday with vertigo attack that led to an anxiety attack. Thank God for meds.
All better now with a few bowls of high protein and fiber cereal this morning.
Prayers for the snowboard, my brother in KC is posting hourly Pic updates on FB and it looks blisteringly cold.

Keisha, yay to a good agent. Yeah, he has a life alert, and is still doing PT at the rehab place twice a week. His rehab lady is great with him. I am ever hopeful, but it’s now been our routine, so what will be, will be.

Ooh I’m just thinking just soup with crackers. I am still full. And DH and I are watching the game, and trying to see if we see the kids in the sea of green in the stands.

Light snow has begun to fall. I am watching it from my recliner. I have no plans to leave the house for the rest of the day. B has to work tomorrow and I doubt Kroger will close. She has never driven in snow and ice before.

We went on Friday and it was pretty busy. I had to pick up a couple of extra items yesterday. Saw someone in the store buying a plastic sled.

Our local farm store is advertising that they have sleds, shovels, and ice melt. Thankfully we had lots of ice melt leftover from last year.
