Some video games are so good they feel like Disney could have made them

Who else thinks that?

If Disney had it's own gaming studio they would make PG-13 level cinematic story action games. Imagine something like "Mass Effect" but toned down in some areas but with story and characters that are just as amazing.

The Life is Strange series is a supernatural teen drama.

And they would make games like this that are story rich but aimed at younger viewers.

There are amazing narrative and character based games that are out there.

For someone who has never played games but wants to try them, I recommend Life is Strange. It has a great story and you don't need to know the controller well to pick it up.

And honestly, my first reaction was "These games are good because they aren't made by Disney." They don't exactly have a great record with video games, which is why I think they don't bother trying anymore.

Well, Disney has had their own game studios in the past. They did not make Rated T type games though. Epic Mickey was a pretty good one though. They mostly now license them out.

The best era of Disney games were when Capcom had the license - they made a ton of great ones! DuckTales, Rescure Rangers, The Little Mermaid. Ever since though most games have been licensed to less reputable developers. The new Illusion Island game looks pretty good though.

Turok is a first-person shooter video game developed by the Disney owned developer Propaganda Games and was published by Disney Interactive Studios under their Touchstone Games banner. This game is a reboot of the video game series of the same name.

They already do the same thing with Marvel. Even though Marvel is owned by Disney the Marvel logo shows up instead of the Disney logo next to the names of Marvel movies.

It wouldn't make sense to market a Marvel movie as a Disney movie.

If they were make a T or M rated game again I hope it is of Mass Effect trilogy or Horizon Zero Dawn quality and hopefully the brand name they are publishing it under is less boring than "Touchstone Games".

I did not know that Disney had actually owned Propaganda Games. They also did a TRON game, so that makes sense.

I can totally see Disney creating a PG-13 cinematic action game with amazing characters and a great story. Something along the lines of Mass Effect but with a more family-friendly twist would be pretty cool. Their knack for storytelling and character development would translate really well into that genre. It’d be interesting to see how they balance the action with their signature heartwarming or adventurous tones.
