SEPT 2009 code watch

My wife and I are in the process of planning a trip for October 2009. How can these codes be found and used. This will be our 4th time to the park and have never heard of the codes or how to use them.

We are interested in either the dining discount or room discounts it does not matter.

Thanks in advance for any help

Hi AW and welcome to the DIS!

The free dining "code" is available to anyone - whether you use a travel agent (if you do, make sure your travel agent is a Disney specialist!) or book it yourself through the WDW website or call the WDW reservation centre. Just ask your travel agent to get the free dining or ask WDW to apply it.

Have a great time on your vacation! :thumbsup2

Well I have changed my reservations again. :)

Originally I had 11 nights at the Poly. Then I switched to 6 nights Poly, 5 nights Boardwalk Villas one bedroom.

As of today, it's 6 nights Beach Club Villas 1 bedroom, 5 nights Boardwalk Villas 1 bedroom. I THINK I am finally done messing around with it. I have a 40% off code, and the CM was SO NICE and got everything switched around for me with guest relations. :) With my discount, it was only $384.84 more to move to the 1 bedroom BCV the first 6 nights as opposed to the Poly.

My whole point of the 1 bedrooms (besides extra room!) is to have the washer/dryer in the room. I won't have to pack nearly as much this way. :)

Yippie Skippie, add me to your list. I talked my sister into going out for free dinning, and during her birthday too. Our dates are Sept 4-7! And I have us booked at Pop, which will be our first time at a value. I'm sure it will be great fun!!!:dance3:

We are going September 22nd-30th. We were going late October but with FD we couldn't pass it up. We have never been in September. How will the weather & crowds be?

The weather is good, it can get hot if you go early in Sept. Our last trip in Sept we had 4 straight days of 95+ so it can be hot. It always rains in the afternoon so watch for it. The love bugs will be a problem in Sept they always are. For some reason some resorts have more than others I don't know why. We didn't see many at POP but a lot at POFQ so I guess it just depends. And by LESS I still mean a lot but not a terrable amount. The crowds have been not that busy the last couple of years and with the ecomony in a mess maybe there'll be even less people. We've never used a fast pass the last 3 yrs we went in Sept. Have fun and enjoy.

When you say you did not have to use fast passes were you there for the rope drop?
Did you follow a touring plan? Thanks in advance!!

My family is planning on going 09/15 - 09/18 and we want to stay at CBR for the first time. :cool1:

We are FL residents so we want to use a room discount versus Free Dining. I am anxious for the room discounts to be released for September. Any word on that yet? :goodvibes

Never been there for the rope drop, I can't get up that early on vacation. We go without kids so for us we don't plan much, a lot of the time we go to whichever park has the shortest bus line. We use the park hopper everyday, morning to one place then the evening at another, where we have our dinner reservations at.

We are FLRs too. And for our family FD is a MUCH better deal than the FLR room discount. I didn't look at your dates on a calendar and I see you're new to the Dis. Do they fall on a weekend? Because Disney is no longer dicounting rooms for FLRs or APs on the weekends. :(

But I will tell you if I remember right the Vaule resorts went for 69 a night for FLRs in Sept last year. So probablly 99 (or so) a night for CBR - honestly I can't remember though. I'm sure if you can find it if you look it up on Mouse Savers.

If it was me - I'd book FD and then if the room discount that comes out is better, cancel and rebook. ;)

Thanks for the info! I was wondering what was a better deal. I just check and the rack rate for value season is $149 a night so I do think the Free Dining is a better deal. :thumbsup2

When it comes to tickets don't forget you only need to buy a 1-day to get FD. So once you get to your resort ask them to seperate your room key/DP card from you ticket. Then go to the parks use that one day ticket - head over to Guest Relations at some point in the day and ask them to UPGRADE you to the 4-day (I assume you'll be in the parks for 4 days) FLR pass. They'll take the regular gate price, 75 bucks, and discount it from the 4-day pass price. And you pay the difference. MUCH better than buying the rack rate tickets with your package. :woohoo:

Enchantinodin: Can you explain the 1 day ticket to me? :confused3 Is this something only for FLR? I have booked a vacation package with the free dining for 7 nights and I included park tickets for 6 days without park hopper. Is it cheaper to get the tickets at the park vs with your package?

Thanks
P.S. I am new to this way of planning. When I lived in Florida we just booked a room and ate wherever!!! That has been years ago!

YES this is a FLR ticket thing. Sorry if that wasn't made clear enough. We have 'special' tickets like the 3 or 4 day pass that are good for 6 months instead of just 2 weeks. Which are at a decently discounted price.

I know things have changed a LOT over the years. I grew up here and had a Season Pass from infancey until I moved out to live with my boyfriend (now hubs) as a young adult. Really it has to do with the invent of the DP, or moreover I should say with the PUSH of the DP. As I do beilve they had something before that. Long gone are the days of walk-up TS in the parks, at least for popular places.

It's kinda sad - but then they have the FD deal with I must say is VERY hard to pass up. So I get over it quick enough. :rotfl:

I had no idea this could be done. :woohoo:

Thanks so much for all the advice! I ran the numbers with my dad (DS's pop pop) last night and we figured out taking the FD will be a much better deal for us. I'm so excited! We are booking our package tonight when we go to my parents' house for dinner. :cool1:

YAY! Glad I could be a help. :)

Thanks Chuck, we also go kidless but have been there at rope drop. This will be our first Sept. trip. We generally have the major rides done by 11:00am then spend the rest of the day at a much slower pace.
