OP got attacked because they were being absurd and dramatic to the point it almost felt like bait (after all of that getting on it again? lmao).OP, you're brave for posting this. I expected that you'd get attacked for this and I was right lol I think Rise is fine.......when it works. I have yet to ride it with everything working /shrugs
When I go to DL this September, I plan on skipping it and don't even expect myself to step into Galaxy's Edge at all. There are better things to do in the park.
I agree that OP's points were....not great but I feel like even if they worded it better they would've been attacked anyway. I've seen it happen in other Disney spaces when someone says Rise isn't the best theme park ride ever created.OP got attacked because they were being absurd and dramatic to the point it almost felt like bait (after all of that getting on it again? lmao).
It really is an entirely different experience with everything working though, and I say that as someone who pays to ride it on every trip. And I mean *everything*. I was lucky enough to ride it back when the cannons still moved and that was genuinely the coolest thing I have ever experienced on a dark ride. It did so much to sell the danger inherent to the frantic escape. That’s why I was really happy to see it get fixed in DLR and hope we get those fixes in FL.
B mode is pretty mid though, and too often it’s what people get. I’m one that actually enjoys the sequel characters (I just wish they had a better story), but I thought Kylo was really dumb, and Rise actually made me respect him as a villain the way the movies never did--but the ride really suffers when his finale AA is broken. The ship is so anticlimactic after being chased by him for half the ride. I will say my other ding on this ride is bc so much of the immersion relies on the CMs, when guests don’t buy into the RP elements with them (eg trying to get them to break character, not paying attention, etc) it really takes away from the experience for me, I find. Many times I find myself wishing I could ride it in the context of something like Star Wars Weekends when I know everyone’s willing to commit to the bit.
I think it’s a great immersive experience… if it’s working properly. Many times it’s not and I feel so bad for the people who are riding it for the first time when it’s like that.

And yeah I bet the ride is amazing when everything is working but I personally have never been on it where something wasn't broken.
All of this. Rise is a truly amazing ride. But Disney is simply unwilling or unable to invest the resources necessary to keep it working properly. As a result, what can be a fantastic experience usually ends up being a middling one.I agree with prior posts about how part of the issue is that some of the ride just doesn't work.
It is not a thrill ride. It is interactive and meant to be experienced. You may be confusing WDW with Universal, where almost everything is meant to be a thrill.I have never been more disapointed in a ride.
There is almost zero thrill factor except that one tiny drop. The ride vehicle is really dull. Remys was even more fun and thats pretty disapointing as well. At times it feels like you are on a slow moving tea cups ride.
The action is your ride vehicle, not the set itself. The story is centered around you, not the sets. The sets are big but mostly static. Very little movement. They arent game changing. Feel like some screens as background could of brought some life to it.
Disney, although I believe it was a poor decision, did not base Star Wars land on the original or second trilogy. They based it on post-Lucas films where Disney was involved. All of SWL is focused on everything outside of Episodes 1 - 6, even Smuggler's Run.Nothing on old star wars. Kylo ren just isnt interesting. Why oh why is there no original characters.
More room in the line for others who appreciate it.Ive done it twice now. Zero interest in ever doing it again. It was just a boring ride.
Because it is a great attraction. You are one opinion out of hundreds of thousands. Those of you who do not like it are in a minority. Why does this get so much praise? I cant be the only one confused by this?
This comment makes zero sense among your complaint. These are in 2 different parks. Nothing is stopping you from riding Guardians as much as you want to, regardless of what tier it is.The guardians of the galaxy roller coaster ride should of been the e ticket stars wars ride. How amazing would of that been.
My understanding is that neither of these are true and that they put in a LOT of work to get the turrets going at DL again. It's an extremely complex ride and now they're dealing with a handful of issues and not a lot of opportunity to fix those issues. As I mentioned before, a refurb would be nice, but...But Disney is simply unwilling or unable to invest the resources necessary to keep it working properly.
Sorta interesting because this isn't the first time I've heard the complaint that Rise isn't thrilling enough, there might be an expectation that since it's an e-ticket then it should be thrilling (and the easiest way to do this is with a coaster) and sometimes that isn't the case! Going to be interesting when the Avengers e-ticket opens, I have a hunch we might see similar complaints for that one.
I agree with prior posts about how part of the issue is that some of the ride just doesn't work. The cannons are a big one, when it's on it really makes you feel like you're trying to escape in the middle of a firefight, but it's not at WDW so the tension isn't nearly as high. Last time I went one of the screens wasn't on, which made it even worse. It's definitely a diminished ride from what it was in the first years. Feel like a refurb would do some good but they're in a difficult spot with future attraction closures.
