Random women's fashion question about JEANS?

Hoping I can piggyback in here with a jeans question of my own. Any suggestions of places who carry tall/long in-store? My young adult daughter is having a terrible time finding jeans that she can buy and take with her instead relying on ordering online without being able to try on. She’s gotten some hit or miss luck at Old Navy and Maurice’s but nothing consistent. Thanks!

Back with another question... This time about where the bottom of your jeans hit.
So I basically grew up on bootcut/flares but in recent years have liked straight leg (never was into skinny).
With bootcut/flares they always half covered my shoes and then when sitting they come up a little but you don't see my skin at all.
With straight leg unless I get long they just barely meet my sneakers and you can see my socks and when sitting you can see my skin and I'm self conscious thinking they are too short on me.
But I do definitely notice that's where they hit the models too when standing... of course IDK about when they sit...
So now I'm wondering where do you consider a good place for the straight leg to end and when you sit is your skin exposed?

OP update.
Got the Levi's very quickly.
They are going back just as fast haha.
They fit nicely when I stand but they are EXTREMELY high waisted and when I sit its the tightest thing I've ever had on my body.
I'd probably throw up or pass out if I tried to sit for more than a minute lol.
And I was surprised by how thin they seem compared to what I expected. I was expecting you know the thickness of 80's/90's denim.
It wasn't as thin as most jeans these days but not thick either.

So I've decided that my 2 basic options now are the Levi classic bootcut but size down ANOTHER size and hope they stretch out to what I want or stick to the Lee relaxed fit which are super comfy but just a little loser in the leg than I'd like leading to it look less relaxed more babby.

Oh well I tried haha.
I was sorting through my sewing stuff (note, not a real sewer, more of a mender) , and had some pieces from jeans about 20 years ago. I too was shocked just feeling the weight of those jeans vs what I'm wearing today.

I’ve found that high-waisted jeans with some stretch are the most comfortable for all-day wear. They don’t dig in and give enough flexibility for walking and sitting comfortably.

I like wearing jeans but have always had issues with fit because I have a fluffy tummy. A while back I went to a thrift store and found some Blair Denim-Ease Back Elastic Jeans that fit perfectly. I normally have not liked clothing from Blair but these were very nice.

I find that the St. John's Bay straight legs from JCPenney fit that description; they do have a small lycra content, but not super-stretchy, and pretty heavy.

I don't spend a lot of money on jeans, because I don't spend a lot on clothes, period, except for work suits, and if I want something for a special occasion I make it. Penneys and Old Navy are my usual go-tos for jeans. Right now I'm wearing a pair from Old Navy that are insanely heavyweight; it's unusual to find denim this thick nowadays, and I now find it uncomfortably heavy (not to mention how long it takes to get them fully dry.)

I think it has to do with the style. Flare leg or wider leg pants tend to be longer so they hit at the top of the shoe laces. Also more expensive brands will be more generous with fabric used in making their clothes.

Straight leg and skinny leg are supposed end shorter, near the ankle, (I think,) so they the leg doesn't end up all bunched up.

Are you putting your jeans in the dryer? They will shrink more once dried in a dryer.

I never put my jeans in the dryer, for one: the shrinkage. Two: they fade quicker.

You can try stretching your jeans longer, right after they come out of the washer and are still damp and the fibers can be stretched and stay. Grab the front of one leg at the waist, and by the bottom hem of the leg with the other hand. Gently tug and you will likely be able to stretch the material some. I was able to get a whole inch in length back on a pair of jeans that accidentally went in the dryer. Do this along the back side. Then do it with the other leg. Air dry, do not place in the dryer.

I’m 5’9 and buy my jeans from Hollister.

Diesel jeans are definitely one of my favorites—they’re just so comfortable and stylish. But to be honest, clothing is the least of my concerns right now. With everything going on, my main focus is on finishing my college and getting ready for the next chapter of my life. Thanks to the help from https://academized.cоm/write-my-research-paper, I’ve been able to stay on top of my assignments and reduce some of the stress that comes with juggling schoolwork. It’s such a relief knowing I can get assistance when needed, so I can concentrate on what really matters—finishing my studies and landing a good job.

Gotta have the leg fully covered when sitting. So I like them to just barely touch the floor when standing barefoot. Or if a narrower leg that bunches at the ankle a bit, long enough to not come up when sitting. Skinny jeans I kind of like if they bunch a little. For me this is 33-34" inseam.

For the OP post, I like some Maurice's and Old Navy but they do stretch as the day goes on. I've found some Eddie Bauer straight leg at thrifts that don't seem to stretch so much. Recently I've gone back to Lee's again because they tend to have the correct rise, and come in long.

Maurice’s M-Jeans in bootcut. Love them!

Maurice’s does have a nice program where if you need to size up or size down, and your jeans are still in good condition, and you’ve kept the receipt you can bring them in to exchange for a new pair. Same style, different size. I’ve done this as part of my weightloss journey. It’s fantastic.

I feel you on the struggle! I’m still on the hunt, but so far, Wrangler straight-leg and Levi’s Ribcage have been solid—sturdy, hit at the belly button, and don’t stretch out too much.

What brand and/or style of jeans is your go to?

Since I can remember I've always been in between sizes for pants and I'm STILL looking for the perfect jean.
I like jeans that end at my belly button and are "sturdy".
But it seems like I can only find one or the other lol.
My current go to is Levi's classic bootcut which is mid rise and they are comfy but stretch out and start falling down.
I even sized down one size and they still do it. It seems ridiculous to have to size down 2 sizes just to make them still fit when they stretch out throughout the day.
I'm considering trying the Levi's 501 original fit straight leg but I'm worried they will end up too high waisted on me.
Unfortunately there is not a store near me and the department store Levi's 501 Original Fit are NOT the same as the actual ones from the Levi's store.

So got me to thinking what's everyone else's go to jeans?
Have you found YOUR jeans or are you still on the hunt?
I feel the same way and my answer is going to shock you. I'm currently wearing a very sturdy super comfortable pair of jeans that has generated more compliments than any pair of jeans I've ever head.

Want to know what they are? It's gonna surprise you.

Time and Tru from Walmart. I think mine are the straight leg. Who knew.

I normally wear J Jill or Loft or Talbots. But these...wow.
