It’s fun that there are so many people there! I’m at work, but I’m enjoying all of the photos and videos being generously shared on social media. I’m sure the fireworks tonight will be spectacular. Enjoy!Met some of the DVCshow in one of the gardens/terraces. Sorry @pkrieger2287, heard you are back home being a good father to your furry children.
Saw @Tikiman at Wailulu but didn’t want to interrupt his conversation.
We like Wailulu (at the time for 2 people we had to go to the bar walk up). Met two nice couples both originally from Jersey. We lined their food. (Yes, I had the musubi and liked it). DW is not a spam eater. We had both the crème brulee and the dole whip subdue for dessert. Delicious.
For us, far left view is BTMRR (over GF), castle is over the wedding chapel, can see train station, great view of Tomorrowland, BLT, Contemporary (even the outdoor Christmas tree, possibly top of WL, etc.
Listening to the ambience of resort music. MK train. Castle show fireworks. Ferry, resort boats. Watching the boats, monorails.
Due to how the building wings are angled and how the lagoon-facing Duos are positioned in that angle and recessed, the view from the balcony is somewhat compromised.I managed to snag two nights the first weekend in April in a Duo Premium view. We are debating about flying down for a quick weekend getaway. (No park tickets until we activate APs in October, so resort only.) Need photos and videos for the website anyways. Was able to get RT tickets for about $200 and direct flights from the BUF.
Can't believe the price though - 60 points for two nights in a DUO? That's running near $300 a night worth of dues. This is the same price as one of the preferred view long houses. I mean I have 320 points with no plans to use them this year so I'm not really sweating it for only two nights, but holy cow. It's not even technically "theme park" view - the duos are considered "Premium" view which I am not even really sure what that's supposed to mean. Perhaps you can see the fireworks but not the theme park???

)Hmm. I know they didn't put theme park view in the view name, but how do the point percentage differences in the duo compare to the difference for the others rooms? Hopefully less of a jump from preferred to premium comparted to preferred to theme park from the other rooms. Basically did they just change the name or did they actually keep their price lower since they acknowledge that the view isn't as good.Due to how the building wings are angled and how the lagoon-facing Duos are positioned in that angle and recessed, the view from the balcony is somewhat compromised.
Here's the one Premium View Duo per floor:

The YouTube video posted a couple pages back and views from one of the balconies, and it was definitely limited from where they stood:

I think if you sat/stood all the way to the right you might be able to see the fireworks, but probably need firsthand reports to confirm/deny.
This view is a little claustrophobic!Due to how the building wings are angled and how the lagoon-facing Duos are positioned in that angle and recessed, the view from the balcony is somewhat compromised.

Follow-up to this, because I couldn't help myself.Due to how the building wings are angled and how the lagoon-facing Duos are positioned in that angle and recessed, the view from the balcony is somewhat compromised.

The jump from Preferred View Duo to Premium View Duo is 20.7% across the 2025 points chart.Hmm. Oof so 120% instead of 121% of the cost. A nice 0.8% discount in exchange for losing the theme park viewThe jump from Preferred View Duo to Premium View Duo is 20.7% across the 2025 points chart.
By comparison, the jump from Preferred View Deluxe Studio to Theme Park View Deluxe Studio is 21.7%.
The most bizarre thing is those premium view duos cost more than the preferred view studios. Why would anyone pay more to be shoved in a corner with limited views and no permanent bed?Oof so 120% instead of 121% of the cost. A nice 0.8% discount in exchange for losing the theme park view
What room type is this? Those familiar with Hawaii may appreciate a double rainbow appearing over Polynesian just now.

Link?Holy cow I just saw a video of a preferred view and it is BAD. Standard view must be atrocious!

Staying on the 4th floor premium duo for the night. I took a video earlier but that won’t post here so here’s some terrible screenshots from that video lol. It’s very private feeling but yeah the recessed aspect is not great. @ehh you have it exactly correct that if you stand all the way to the right of the balcony you can see the castle and likely fireworks but I mean completely pressed against that wall lol there’s a Christmas party tonight so sadly no HEA for us. We’re actually in a duo SV for marathon weekend so we’ll see just how terrible those views are lol tbh I’d prefer the lower front grounds than a higher up preferred view of all the Floridian way construction but we’ll see.Due to how the building wings are angled and how the lagoon-facing Duos are positioned in that angle and recessed, the view from the balcony is somewhat compromised.
