Ok I have a question for you guys. Due to guests feelings towards alcohol, I am only having a signature cocktail during the pre-reception. I was originally wanting the Strawberry Sparkler from the German pavillion, but DF doesn't want anything with strawberry flavor. Now, I was thinking of trying to come up with something in our wedding color. Our colors are purple and champagne. Now the obvious thing would be to serve some form of champagne or sparkling wine, but was wanting something a little more fun. Do any of you know a good cocktail that is purple in color, any shade will do? Also, do you think something red would work? Thanks for your help.

Oh there was a episode of "Who's Wedding is it Anyway" She had purple martini's. I'll try and see what was in them. They were really pretty.

I had a Blueberry Pina Colada at 'Ohana and that was a lavander color...and it was really yummy!

Introduction
This cocktail is perfect for the Champagne lover who enjoys a little extra excitement. Whether or not your guests appreciate the slight deviation from the most decadent drink around, you'll be sure to get plenty of oohs and aahs when the drinks get poured. Show off your spontaneity, dance to Prince and watch it bubble.
Instructions
Difficulty: Easy
Things You'll Need
Champagne
blue food coloring
red food coloring
Steps
1Step OneDecide how many people you'll ask to join in the excitement of your cocktail hour.
2Step TwoPurchase enough Champagne for your guests, along with blue and red food coloring. It's important to buy Champagne that tastes acceptable to you, since you won't be changing its flavor.
3Step ThreeOpen the bottle of Champagne (see Related eHows) and begin to fantasize about taking your first sip.
4Step FourListen to your favorite Prince song as you squeeze three blue drops and four red drops of food coloring into the open Champagne bottle.
5Step FiveTurn the bottle from side to side gently to let the food coloring disperse throughout. The liquid will slowly turn purple.
6Step SixPour the Champagne into glass or plastic Champagne flutes. Pass them around to guests, drink as you would any cocktail and/or use it as a fun opportunity for toasting.

The Vampire cocktail is very similar to the Black Cat, the only difference being that the Vampire does not include cola. This is an excellent choice for a lowball drink that Halloween party guests will really enjoy. This drink is also known as Purple Haze.
INGREDIENTS:
1 1/2 oz vodka
1/2 oz black raspberry liqueur
cranberry juice
PREPARATION:
Pour the vodka and black raspberry liqueur into a cocktail shaker with ice.
Shake well.
Strain into an old-fashioned glass filled with ice.

I have always been a fan of he French martini. It is a classic and a subtle light purple. It has vodka, chambord(a rasberry liquor) and pineapple.

Also Kir royals are super yummy they are champagne and chambord.

these all sound so yummy! maybe i should change my color to purple so i can se them hehehe

i was woundering has anyone done this at their wedding beofre. and used it for their toast???

i wanted to do that using the liquor that was included in the bar package.

how much did they charge and how did that work it
was it worth it??

Thanks ladies for all the wonderful drinks. I guess I will have to host a party for my coworkers and find out which one is the best.

Sunsh1ne - I watched the Food Networks Disney Fairytale Weddings special over the weekend and a couple on there had a specialty drink for their toast that was orange. As for the cost, I have no clue. If you are willing to wait a month, I will tell you what they say at my planning session.

you could try a purple rain:
equal parts vodka and blue curacao, topped up with sprite/lemonade with a drizzle of grenadine. lovely purple color and nice taste! (i dont normally like vodka). knew being an ex-cocktail barmaid would come in handy sometime!

princessbride- i am so sorry, there was so many shows on this weddend with weddings. it actually was a "who's wedding is it anyway" episode that one was purple!! i am sorry again
