Goals for April:
- minimum of 5000 steps per day
- drop at least 5 pounds
Both of these are vacation prep, which is now getting close enough that I can almost smell it.

We actually had spring like weather over the weekend and what a delight. It felt so, so good. I took care of a couple household things that were nagging me, which also feels good, and the walk at the nature preserve really hit the spot for what my mind and body needed, so all-in-all a nice restorative weekend.

Motivation this week... to get eating back-on-track. I got some pre-made acai bowls and smoothie packets at COSTCO, to get fruit and veggie consumption back up to where it needs to be, now I have to focus on protein.

It depends. Walking on a treadmill I do on my own but I like going to jazzercise as it is fun, a good workout and I feel like I am being held accountable. When walking outside I do like walking with DH or a group of friends. I like the conversations we have and it doesn't feel like I am working out then.

I went to Jazzercise last night. I wanted nothing more then to lay on the couch but I went. I missed going. It was a rough class as my brain was not coordinating with the rest of my body. But I went and I got an hour of movement.

I think I'm also a "it depends": I loved the group connection at my Pilates classes, but I get stressed having a set schedule outside of work. I was checking out the class schedule for the fitness place down the street again, and I can get two after-work Zumba classes in and then something over the weekend, so I think I'm going to do it. I'll just have to get over the scheduling-commitments thing... it isn't like I'm doing anything else.

When I was in my 20’s and 30’s in good shape doing aerobics at Women’s World or lifting weights at Bally’s, I enjoyed working out with others. Now that I’m older and out of shape, I prefer to exercise alone on my treadmill. I have enjoyed group water aerobics classes but I don’t like going into the cold night air afterwards. Swimming on vacation is fun, but I enjoy my backyard pool the most. I have become more solitary in my exercising.

Answering my own question -

If walking outside, I prefer to have someone along to talk to, but I also like walking by myself on the treadmill and watching something on the iPad.

I'm currently doing a yoga class over Zoom, so that's sort of a combination of alone and with people.

I am woohooing that I went to Jazzercise on Monday and plan to go tonight. So more of a woohoo to getting back to normal. Also woohooing that DH and I planned dinners this week and have been eating at home. The last 2 weeks we have ate out more them eating in and we are trying not to do that and save money to hopefully build a new house within the next year.

Woohoo... got somethings figured out yesterday personally and professionally. Now fingers-crossed both will move forward as desired.

Woohoo... had a nice massage yesterday. He won't become my regular person but did what was needed at this point.

I am thankful that the storms yesterday did not cause any damage around town. We had one earlier in the day (maybe around 11) that was pretty strong. It had some impressive lighting. We were supposed to get another on 12 am to 4 am this morning and it was supposed to be stronger then the one earlier. This is the same storm system that hit Arkansas. We just got the top part of the system. It finally hit at about 1 am but it seemed to be only rain and a lot of it. There had to be some wind too as I woke up to rain hitting our front windows that are covered by the porch. It was like someone through the rain on the window. It was weird. I think it only really thundered once and I didn't notice any lighting. I so ended up getting more sleep then had planned. I slept on the couch as storms really freak me out and I knew I would keep DH up with having the TV on.

I am thankful for my new home. It still feels very hotel-y, sadly without room service or housekeeping, but every day it is little bit more mine. I'm done buying new bits-and-bobs for it until I fill in the deck planters with flowers, which won't be until I get back from vacation.

I'm thankful to have the Easter party to look forward to. Keeping the menu simple (yes, ha ha, when have I ever done that) with french toast or a french toast-like bake, fruit and a sweet potato hash. Then munchies to nibble one... which is always my downfall. I got a fancy new six cup tea pot when I was in Canada, so will plan on serving lots of tea as well.

And thankful that it isn't raining... at the moment.

Not much going on this weekend. I will go to Jazzercise in the morning and a hair appointment in the afternoon. Other then that it is just getting stuff done around the house. We are slowly working on getting things cleaned up around the house. We have a small house and too much has accumulated over the last 20 years. Garbage day is Friday for us so we plan to fill the can every Thursday. We started last night. Feels good to get started and a step in the right direction to moving

I found out this week that I do have asthma (Suspected since I was at least a teenager but nothing ever done with it) and saw the doctor this morning. She put me on an inhaler for everyday to see if that stops the coughing that I have and a few other symptoms. Hopefully this makes working out and a faster walk more manageable. Right now I am out of breath by the time I get back from a walk and working out (Jazzercise) I cough through it and have a harder time breathing during the peak time of the workout.
