I think that this movie will show promise after seeing how successful the live-action The Lion King was and now that we will see Mufasa's backstory I think this movie will win The Lion King fans over. Who will provide the voice for Mufasa in this movie? I hope whoever they chose does the voice great as the late James Earl Jones did when he played Mufasa in the animated The Lion King. But I do predict this movie will be a Christmas hit and do well in the first week it's in theaters

This movie looks genuinely awful but I do predict that it'll do well in the box office. So just like Lion King 2019 where that movie sucked but made over a billion dollars.
Yep, this movie will do pretty well overseas considering how the 2019 one did. Domestically it’ll do alright but Sonic 3 could actually do a little better than it.

It will do well, and I think they get the benefit of Lin doing the music… they will have to compete with Sonic, and the presales for Mufasa are not great so far… especially when you compare the numbers with Inside Out 2 and Moana 2… I just don’t think this is movie that people are clamoring for.

I think the reason why Disney made this Mufasa movie is that they plan to make a franchise of The Lion King movies and while I agree that this movie may do well it will get low audience attendance in theaters at first. But Mufasa The Lion King might break records or get second place next to Wicked. Which actor will voice Mufasa in the movie? And what about Scar? Is he also gonna be in this movie too

I think Disney hopes that this Mufasa The Lion King movie will bring in huge amounts of money and bring a lot of audience attention to the movie. Because The Lion King is a Disney classic film of the 90's and people who saw the animated The Lion King as children in 1994 will most likely take their children to see this one. Who will perform the music for this movie? Because seeing how Beyonce performed for the live-action The Lion King I hope they pick someone great like Angelique Kidjo

Lin Manual Miranda did the score for Mufasa

Mufasa The Lion King opens in theaters today and I hope it gets strong numbers at the box-office this weekend. But I do think it will compete for the number one spot with Sonic The Hedgehog 3 and I guarantee people will see Mufasa more than Sonic. I also heard a wonderful song that will be in the movie called I Always Wanted A Brother and it's amazing how Aaron Pierre and Kelvin Harrison Jr. show their singing talents in this song

Globally more people will see Mufasa this weekend because it has a wider release than Sonic 3. Domestically (USA/Canada) Sonic 3 will win the weekend.

Don't get me wrong... I love me some Lin Manuel, but Mufasa is NOT his finest work.

On the plus side, IMHO he did knock "Shiny" out of the bottom spot of my "worst songs from a Disney movie list" with "Bye Bye".

When I went to Disney Store I saw plushies of Mufasa and Taka from the movie and judging by the movie's success Mufasa The Lion King toys are hot for Christmas and I also think that Lin-Manuel Miranda will win an Oscar for the songs in Mufasa The Lion King. But as I said in my opening post this movie will be part of a new series of live-action The Lion King movies and Disney will be making big money from this film alone this year

Sonic opened with $6.5 million, Mufasa opened with $3.3 million. When both open overseas that's when the numbers come into play (Mufasa opens this weekend, Sonic next weekend).

Does Anika Noni Rose voice a character in Mufasa The Lion King? Because I saw that she performs a duet with Keith David and what character does Anika voice in the movie?

I think the animation looks "weird", and off somehow. The lions look like they are stuffed by a taxidermist to me. This probably isn't a popular opinion, but they just look off to me and kind of strange compared to other animated movies.

Saw it yesterday, and honestly, the animation is brilliant ! The CGI some of the best I’ve ever seen. The savanna scenes looked real !! As far as the movie itself… loved it.. the backstories were excellent, and Timon and pumbaa were hilarious.. the score was typical LMM… But, will say… “bye bye” one the worst songs I’ve ever heard ! Lol
