Mickeystoontown's Cheers to 40 years! 18 days, 10 park days, 2 parties and a lot of fun! Updated 3/12 x 2

That's what I remembered! Take a picture of that and that and that.

We were headed towards the Land pavilion and we headed there with a purpose.

IMG_6458.JPEG

You see, a year ago, we started building a storage building on our property and we used the Living with the Land house as our inspiration. We finished the building itself but we hadn't painted it or put the finishing touches on it (and we still haven't) because Mama's health was getting worse and I was spending all my time working, going to see Mama, taking care of her needs, etc. I had taken pictures of the house when we went in May but I needed better pictures. So, as we went past the house, I was snapping away like crazy.

Now that we were passed the house and I had enough pictures to use as a reference, we just sat and enjoyed. We made a note that we needed a scarecrow in our nearby bee hive and flower garden.
IMG_6468.JPEG

We already have chickens!

IMG_6471.JPEG

We went outside and into the greenhouse which I always enjoy because I am a flower and garden type of gal.

I bought John one of these for Christmas 2023. Obviously, on a much smaller scale but, again, we haven't installed it in the greenhouse yet because we are so behind on all of our around the house "tasks".

Stacybaeasm: here's a picture of the Epcot shirt and ears. They were Aristocats and Parish themed. Ugh, maybe there's a better picture of the shirt later on because you can't really see the design. The ears were white "fur" with a white bow with rose design

Popcorn and chile powder for dessert? Are you loco?

Our dinner reservations were at La Cantina de San Angel and it was part of the Eat to the Beat concert series packages. In order to book the package, I had to make an earlyish dinner reservation: 5:45p.m. which was 4:45 p.m. at our house. The early dinner reservation is why we shared the flatbread and truffle fries at Pinocchio's and didn't eat a full meal.

We meandered around, stopping to look in a couple of the stores but not purchasing anything. We were, basically, just killing time until we could check in for our dinner reservation. Once we made it to Mexico, we checked in at the podium and were seated in less than ten minutes. Super fast!

We had eaten at La Cantina de San Angel before but it had been several years.

IMG_6496.JPEG

While we weren't seated next to the window, we did have a pretty view.

IMG_6497.JPEG

Our waitress came around quickly and took our drink orders and gave us a minute to review the menu.

IMG_6495.JPEG

I chose:

Tacos al Pastor

Marinated and seared pork topped with grilled pineapple, onions and cilantro. Served with plantains with crema Mexicana and cotija cheese. Sides of guacamole, rice and corn tortillas

IMG_6498.JPEG

and John went with the

Tacos de Camarónes

Fried shrimp, Chipotle-Lime Aioli, Cabbage and salsa verde in flour tortillas with riceIMG_6499.JPEG

Everything was so good! As we typically do, we shared entrees with one another and we both agreed that we had made great choices.

Oh I forgot the rice:
IMG_6500.JPEG

The Eat to the Beat package included dessert

IMG_6501.JPEG

John ordered:

Pan de Elotes Tres Leches

Rice milk-soaked Mexican corn bread topped with sweetcorn gelato and toasted almonds

IMG_6503.JPEG

IMG_6504.JPEG

And I went with the

Helado De Palomitas

Sweet corn ice cream with popcorn and chile powder

IMG_6502.JPEGIMG_6505.JPEG

John's dessert was sweet! Well the rice milk in the bottom of the bowl was sweet. The rest was very good.

We both said that my dessert was the winner winner popcorn dinner. I would have never thought the popcorn with chile would be good. The whole thing was delicious. I'd order it again in a heartbeat.

We signed our tab, tipped our waitress and started making our way towards the American Pavilion. The views were so pretty.

IMG_6507.JPEG

IMG_6509.JPEG

We made a stop at one of the restrooms and in one shop where we saw this. i immediately pulled out my wallet and started checking my change, my "folding money" (as my papaw used to say) and all my credit card limits. Unfortunately, it was a no-go and the souvenir stayed right where it was.

Hey now, you're a rock star!

I'll go ahead and apologize for semi-duplicate pictures but I was snapping away during the whole thing.

We got in Eat to the Beat dining package line and were fortunate enough to be not too far from the start of the line. The cast members gave everyone instructions about how we needed to have our stickers on our shirt and clearly visible because we would be turned away if not. We put ours on and not five minutes later, we were able to enter the theater. They had cast members stationed throughout the theater and were directing us to our seats. The center front was saved for friends and family of the band so we couldn't sit there. We had a very good view though.

IMG_6511.JPEG

Oh I didn't tell you which band was playing tonight....ready? SMASH MOUTH!!!!! Heck to the yeah!

The concert was amazing! The band made sure they traveled all over the stage so we could see them. It was a blast! If you ever get the opportunity to see any of the bands who perform during the Eat to the Beat and Garden Rocks concert series, do it!

First - those ears!!!! I love Marie and those are gorgeous. But yeah - I need a better picture of the t-shirt.

Second - does it bother anyone else when they see a band that was popular when we were younger (but not YOUNG) and they look old??? Like - I'm still 25 so when did they get old????

But yes, I love seeing bands at those concerts. And the Broadway series during Festival of the Arts. I still have really fond memories of seeing Kool and the Gang one year and one of my friends who went with me leaned over and said "Where's the white guy?" Confused, I said "White guy?" She said - you know the lead singer?? And it clicked - I said are you maybe thinking KC and the Sunshine Band??? LOL. No wonder she kept asking about songs that I knew weren't done by Kool. But dancing and singing along to Celebration - great memory.

I will look and see if I can get a better picture of the shirt even if I have to take one of the shirt itself.

John and I were just talking about that this weekend.!

Ummmm, two totally different yet awesome bands!

What's up Sea Dog?

Today was our second Epcot day and we had another planned for later in the trip so we took our time getting up and ready. We also decided to grab something from Centertown Market. I'm thinking it must have been something like a specialty coffee for John and maybe a muffin or something. I see two items but I didn't take pictures so it had to be something easy peasy and quick.

I absolutely love Caribbean Beach Resort. We've tried other resorts and were okay but there's just something about the resort that makes us relax, stop and smell the roses, etc. It's so beautiful! I took pictures of one of the two hot tubs at two different angles.

During some of our travels, John found a shirt by a company named "Sea Dog". They use Comfort Colors brand shirts and the designs stay fresh and colorful even after a lot of washes. On this day, he was wearing this shirt:

IMG_6540.JPEG

I love this design:

IMG_6542.JPEG

And I was wearing this cute shirt that I ordered from Etsy:

IMG_6543.JPEG

My ears were a grayish/blue "fur" and the bow was Ratatouille themed. We retraced our steps, went past our building and on towards the Skyliner (another reason I love the resort so much) where we caught the Skyliner to Epcot.

What a cool idea. Can you share a picture of your storage building, aka the Living with the Land house?

Seeing Mick Jagger in his 70-somethings in tight pants on stage was traumatizing, lol. No! Just let me remember him the way he was when I was a teenager.

I sure can. Keep in mind that it is only inspired by.....it has a few little details that are found in Living with the Land and we will have a scarecrow, fence, mailbox with a chicken atop, etc. We haven't had the time to paint it yet but here's a short video of what it looked like back in September

So nice to read that!
:D Thank you!

Oh my gosh, now you have me picturing him in tight pants. Why'd you do that? LOL

There's more to sight than meets the eye!

We took the Skyliner to Epcot and were there in what seemed like no time at all. We walked from the "back" of the part to Future World where I stopped to take a picture of the backwards, or is it upside down, fountain.

The day was absolutely gorgeous! Blues Skies and Sunshine Guaranteed!

The line for Journey into Imagination, a/k/a FIgment, was short so in we went:

Y'all, forgive my husband because he knows not what he speaks of....
he thinks that Figment is dumb. For the character and the attraction.

Shock! Horror! Egads!

Only because he has so many wonderful traits, is an amazing father, loves me to bits and pieces, can I overlook this. I mean, Figment is a purple dragon for Pete's sake! How in the "world" could anyone think Figment is dumb? Anyway, he attempted to keep his disdain for Figment to himself but I knew he was sitting there thinkin' it even if he wasn't sayin'.

Oh my goodness! How cute is this bathroom?!?

Before I answer what I am sure you are asking right now....

John tried on a hat in the Journey into Imagination exhibit shop and ended up making a purchase. The man wears a ball cap 95% of his day and is picky about how they fit. I had to take a picture of him standing this way and one of him turning his head the other way. He wanted to see it from all angles. I was actually surprised he got it but he did.

After the purchase was made and tucked into my backpack (Disney bring back package pickup PLEASE!), we walked the very short Disney and waited in the lobby of the Disney and Pixar Short Film Festival.
IMG_6574.JPEG

IMG_6578.JPEG

We had seen the short films before but they are good enough to be re-watchable. (yeah, I made that up) Both of us needed a bathroom break once the films were done so we started making our way towards the nearest bathrooms in Future World. There were a few clouds but just look at the beauty that is Spaceship Earth against that gorgeous sky!

IMG_6579.JPEG

We both went into the respective restrooms and, surprisingly, I was the only one in the women's restroom which allowed me a minute to take a picture at this cute towel animal!

IMG_6580.JPEG

Oh look, there's another one!

IMG_6581.JPEG

John and I met outside and he said they had one in their restroom too. So cute!

Bathroom break done, we needed to get to our first lightning lane of the day. We were a little ahead of schedule and had time to stop for a snack break which was a Mickey pretzel!

IMG_6582.JPEG

IMG_6583.JPEG

IMG_6584.JPEG

The pretzel was warm, soft and delicious!

**Up next: Lord have mercy! I hope I don't puke that pretzel up!
