Marathon Weekend 2025

Seems like 8-10 min are being split into at least two corrals, possibly (probably?) three. Would be curious to hear if anyone who put down <8 min got bumped to B.
I’ll report back when I pick mine up. Put <8 for 5/10k along with a 2:06 hm PoT. Expecting A and B for my two bibs. Waiting until later this afternoon to pick up because of the reported lines, though.

They use the chart below. That conversion doesn’t sound right, unless i’m mistaken it looks like it’s just an extrapolated 10 miler pace but the expectation is that your pace would slow over the course of a longer race.

Gotcha, I see what you mean. I used a different calc method and I’m at 4:55 so still under the 5. Same question, different perspective. In the past, saying you would be under the 4:30 cut off put you in C, so wondering with the new 5 hour what that means for corrals.

Yeah… I’m corral D for the 5k/10k this year with the 8-10 pace.

ETA: and Corral B with my 1:55:48 half time.
Another note. I did register with a charity this year - so I wonder if that put me back of the line for the 8-10 pace group since this had me registering later.

Legend.

By the way, I've spent the morning going totally forensic on your file (working out my timings, pacing, strategies, toilet stops, checkpoints, etc). It really has got everything. Total legend, so thanks again.
I'd love to take credit, but @DopeyBadger created the original and my DH added some formula wizarding this year. I agree it's super helpful.

How do these hotels know who the runners are? Did you guys make a note at check in?
Disney knows all!

I wouldn't even have my suitcases out yet a full day before my flight

Confirmed. Line is way out from the building.

Saw all the people waiting to pounce once their group is called. Again, glad I pre-ordered the jacket.
Reading these on the plane and glad I preordered what I absolutely wanted, although it seems there's a bunch of cool stuff I didn't get.

Hoping this dies down by 5 or 6 when we get over there.

I think it’ll be a lot better, obviously merch situation won’t be as good but a lot of this is driven by merch fomo.

I expect C to be a small corral bc there wasn’t much time for people to get new POTs and there was some uncertainty about POT conversions. D is going to be big.

runDIsney appears to use the calculation T2 = T1 X (D2/D1) ^ 1.079, 1:46:24 10 miler = 5:01:03 M

McMillan uses T2 = T1 X (D2/D1) ^ 1.0735, 1:46:24 10 miler = 4:59:28 M

Hansons/Riegel use T2 = T1 X (D2/D1) ^ 1.0600, 1:46:24 10 miler = 4:55:34 M

If runDisney uses the same rate release system they have over the years, then this is the distribution of runners per corral.

ETA - Changed the 1:46:24 HM to a 1:46:24 10 miler in the formula part above

wait...are those numbers correct? a 1.46 half equates to 5.01 full? dont you mean 4.01 full?

or you talking something different than equivalency calculations

278xx

we registered for the Dopey Challenge in July, well after the anticipated times were due and rushed through the registration to make sure we got it, so I ended up with 6:30 - 7:00 for Marathon time and 10-12 minute pace. I think my wife put in a shorter marathon time, she has 270xx

I got G for the half and full, F for the 5k and 10k. My wife got F and F.

With my bib number, I asked if I was last. No, but close.
