This doesn't seem right. There were no additional checkpoints or security to go through anywhere during the bib and shirt pick up process or even rD merch access compared to years past or even compared to W&D a couple of months ago.

Agree on this. I didn’t see any extra security protocols or even more of a security presence than years past.

Yea, switching around my planned attire also tomorrow with what I had planned for 10k. It lends better to wearing sleeves and tights. According to Weather Bug, going to be 38 degrees at race time.

Look idk I just know she said they had extra meetings about security since New Orleans because of New Orleans. I don’t know security well but it could be that they’re just not allowing as many people in one space as they had before. Which to be honest it felt like that when I was in the shirt pick up area. Because that part of the expo was not nearly as crowded as I’m used to.

They’ve been doing this long enough to probably know how to fiddle with security without it being as noticeable. Well aside from the lines.

Edit: Also let’s be real. We just had an attack they would be foolish to at least not be more cautious this weekend. I remember after the Vegas attack other than costume changes there wasn’t much going on at Avengers. But they almost certainly had increased security since the daily room check started then

I know they have to say all that stuff because this actually is cold weather for Florida and people don't all know how to handle it, but as a Minnesotan, seeing 25-30°F wind chills described as "very cold" is kind of hilarious.

As a North Carolinian who runs far more frequently at temps approaching “feels like” of 100+ than anything close to freezing, “hilarious” is an egregious misspelling of “horrifying”.

Don’t forget that it’s still humid with these temps. I just looked and humidity will be in the 60s during tomorrow’s race. Not as bad as usual, but still pretty bad. It will make it feel way colder than what the thermometer says.

We are so not prepared for it. But weather is so relative. I remember while visiting Nee York, the news went on an on about 3 days with high temps above 90 degrees. For me, that’s the entire summer!

Expo was amazing. Got there at about 2pm and didnt queue for anything except to meet Jeff. The T-shirts look a lot better in person than they did on Disneys instagram.

Edit - btw, rain now showing from 12 noon on Sunday on my forecasts. Potential for it to shift earlier.

205xx in coral A/A with 1:48 POT for half.

I turned in a 1:49 and 8-10, and ended up in C/A. Thought about talking to Runner Relations, but the line was way too long.
