How often does Disney restock the Magic Bands on MDE? There aren’t many options.

I was thinking the same thing. I don't necessarily want a character specific. There should be some plain color options.

There is no rhyme or reason to what’s available & no predictable pattern to when things get changed. You just have to keep checking.

they never put many options there. The MG selection is always limited compared to shopdisney. Do you know why? To force us to pay full price at shopdisney or at the parks and not take advantage of the resort discount

Yeah, we would have 2-3 pages of MB's to choose from years ago, for our New Years week trip, we had about 13 also to choose from and 6 of those were Star Wars theme Like Davi mentioned it's so we will have to pay full price for them.

Can someone explain the advantages/disadvantages of buying the MBs through the MDE app, Disneystore.com, or at the resort? Some of the MBs available to me on the app are the same high price as those on Disneystore.com. Are the MBs available at the resort the same price as what I'm seeing on Disneystore.com? Do they have a different selection at the resort?

Also, do I have to buy and assign MBs to people all at the same time, or can I buy some through the app and others on Disneystore.com? Right now, I only see the plain (less expensive) MBs on Disneystore.com.

No magic advantages / disadvantages, they are generally all the same price except for the discounted ones that are available to purchase at a discount using your on-site resort reservation.

Yes. Selections vary by location. The large store at Disney Springs and at the parks tend to have the widest selection.

Also, do I have to buy and assign MBs to people all at the same time, or can I buy some through the app and others on Disneystore.com? Right now, I only see the plain (less expensive) MBs on Disneystore.com.

No with the exception of MBs that you order via your on-site resort reservation. Those need to be assigned to individuals on your reservation before they are mailed out to you.

If buying on property and have an AP or DVC you will receive a discount where you will not online unless it is for an upcoming trip. The AP/DVC discount is a few cents more than when buying for the upcoming hotel stay.

Thank you for that link. By "plain" MBs, I just mean the solid-colored bands that are $34.99, as opposed to the $44.00+ on that site, as well as on the pre-arrival purchase page. There are a few solid-colored ones listed.

That's so strange because I'm looking at it right now. I see dark pink, olive green, red, black, light pink, cream, lilac, "Tink green," and orange. This is on Disneystore.com.

Ah, I see. Yes, I only saw red, navy, ombre orange, and Tinkerbell green (more like a lime green) on the MDE site as far as solid colors. I'm glad I kept checking back every day because I had only been seeing the fancier (more expensive) ones on MDE. Today I saw the solid-colored ones, so I ordered Navy for my husband and ombre orange for myself (I hope it's the lighter peachy orange color as it looks on the website, and not the brighter orange I saw in a blog post somewhere). These two were only $25, as opposed to the $45 Star Wars themed MBs I let my boys choose. My daughter is going to take her chances with the older MB she has from her 2021 trip with friends. If it doesn't work, I'll buy her a new one at the resort.

As of yesterday (2/17), MDE had a few solid color bands. I bought the Tinkerbell green one. I had been checking each day to see if it would be added, as it has been on the Disney Store site, it was $24.99 instead of $34.99 and there's no shipping charge, just tax.

I saw that Tinkerbell green one and almost bought it! I ended up buying the ombre orange, but the Tinkerbell green is super cute, too.
