any recommendations?

I tried Arbonne 8 months ago, and LOVED it ...the orange line...but not feeling like I want to fork over $300 in today's economy.

Anyone having something similar that they like??

Do NOT use Arbonne!!! They are scam artists! I have had to contact them 9 times over a refund and now I'm about to file a dispute with my CC as well as report them to BBB.

OK...I did love the products though. What are you using now?

The company that sponsers my wheelchair crank racing is fantastic, and I'm not just saying that as they sponser me,as I used there products first.
It might be what you are looking for: www.balatonspausa.com

I've been using the Lacura line from Aldi for a little over a month now, and I'm really happy. I used the Arbonne eye cream for a while (one bottle's worth), and while I really liked it, it just isn't worth it to me.

I like the Nicole Miller line of facial products that Melaleuca sells. I've really been impressed with results I'm getting with the face wash, toner and moisturizers. My skin isn't feeling as "tight" as it did with some of the others I was using. And I'm not experiencing the burning sensation that many of the anti-aging lotions caused.

I just ordered stuff from DHC skin care -
here's a link to a thread I started yesterday about it:http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=2095326

They'll send you samples to try if you request a catalog.

When I tried their stuff- my skin felt and looked incredible- and that was just a couple of days using it--

I dunno, I use the Garnier Nutrisse products that you can buy in the supermarket and I am always getting compliments on my skin.

I don't really think it matters what you use, just that you use it. I only settled on Garnier because I seem to be allergic to everything else. When I was younger I only used Noxema.

I don't think you really need to spend a lot. My grandmother had the most beautiful skin I've ever seen and she used only Ponds cold cream.

It's funny - my grandma never used anything but bar soap (dove) and the skin on her face was like a baby's.

I have had good luck with pretty much anything Aveeno puts out - lately I've been using their Rejuvenating Serum and I really love it. I was using La Mer serum, and just couldn't justify another bottle (I received the other in a swap!)... the Aveeno Serum doesn't quite do the same thing, but it's close enough for a $160 price difference!!!! :dance3:

Have you looked at the Anew line from Avon? I used to use Dr. Perricone's products - which I love but just can't afford anymore. Now I use the Anew Rejuvinate line from Avon which I love equally as well and pay alot less. In fact, I now sell it! There are always sales and specials on the Anew line.

No, I haven't seen it. I'll take a look on the Web site. Thanks for the tip!

Neutrogena and Olay are what my dermatologist recommended to me.

I am very happy with both and have seen better results than I did when I used more expensive brands.

that's your experience. Mine is just the opposite. I love and use Arbonne. My rep works real hard and is very interested in customer satisfaction. You may just have one bad apple but you shouldn't throw the entire basket of apples out!

Good luck with your dispute.

i second both of these ideas. i use plain bar soap (purpose) on my face and Aveeno moisturizer and skin is clearing. (I also use neutrogena on the spot acne treatment all over because of acne but i think the purpose soap and aveeno make a great basic).

I've been using the arbonne because I develop rosacea (sp?) instantly with most products that contain alcohols and chemicals (esp. neutrogena and avon). I'd love to hear of someone with equally sensitive skin that uses something else - ITA about the cost. I'm stocked up for a bit now, but don't know what I'll do when my supply runs out.

I am a skin care junkie--Sephora could be my second home. There are several that I like, but Paula's Choice is a reasonable alternative to just about everything. My daughter has VERY sensitive skin and this line keeps anything that might be irritating out of its ingredients, so it works well for her. Another bonus, the website tells you exactly what to expect, without outrageous claims.

Paula Begoun (I think that's the last name) is the author of "Don't Go to the Cosmetics Counter Without Me." She reviews most lines in this HUGE book, and evidently decided to develop her own line.

The other nice thing is that you can order samples of everything. They do cost, but most are under $1.00.

I have stupidly sensitive skin - sometimes rosacea-style patches, sometimes horrible acne (I'm 36 forheavenssake!) - and I've tried dermotologists and expensive stuff and have finally determined that I have to watch out for a particular chemical in stuff - Sodium Lauryl/Laureth Sulfate and all its cousins. Benzoyl Peroxide literally burns me - even though I've had so many people recommend products that had the stuff (including a dermotologist that I never went back to). My biggest thing is to avoid that particular chemical (it's in toothpaste, it's in shampoo, it's in everything) and to exfoliate gently.

For about a year I 'washed' with a homemade oil cocktail of sunflower+grapeseed+one drop of tea tree per 4 oz and a tiny bit of baking soda for my face and castile soap for my body. I would still get the occasional horomone induced zit, but the rosacea is gone.

I'm slowly introducing other things now just to make life easier (the oil is tough to manage all the time, and definitely doesn't travel well) and have found a few products that seem to work - the Aveeno serum I mentioned, Neutrogena's Blackhead gentle scrub has no SLS and some fancy soap from Canada (Rocky Mountain Soap Co - fabulous people, really, really great products).

It's such a pain to have such sensitive skin. I'm the girl who had to bring her own bar of soap into the office, because the liquid soap was eating the skin off my fingers!!!

thx. for the tips on controlling rosacea!

Thanks for the rosacea info. My daughter has the same issue. We just switched to a shampoo without SLS. She is almost 15, so the consistency isn't always there...well the consistency of using the correct products. She sure is consistent in her complaints about her "rosy cheeks."
