Has anyone heard if the Sit down restaurant’s will still have French fries even if they are not listed on the menu? I have a picky eater and French fries are a staple(I know that’s bad) and I’m praying someone has heard or seen them being available. Thanks!

Thanks...that was what I was afraid would be the answer. New times, just trying to adjust and still be able to sit down in air conditioning to cool off.

The good news is, there are options for sit-down meals that include fries on the menu:

Magic Kingdom: The Plaza, Columbia Harbor House (quick service but has indoor seating), Cosmic Ray's (Quick service but has indoor seating)

Epcot: Rose and Crown

Hollywood Studios: 50's Prime Time, Sci Fi, ABC Commissary (quick service but has indoor seating)

Animal Kingdom: Restaurantosaurus. Yak & Yeti

**Many of the buffets also include a "kids food" selection that may have french fries, but offhand I can't remember exactly which ones. That might be worth reaching out to Disney to find out for sure.

Yes it will limit where you can eat, but there are definitely indoor options at every park that will satisfy your picky eater! Good luck!

Thanks for the list! I was looking at the menus that disney has posted and really wasn’t seeing them on the kids menu, guess I should have looked to see if they were being offered for adults. Maybe I can get my little guy to be more adventurous lol!

If they are not on the kids menu, but they are on the regular menu, they will let you sub out the kid's side for fries. That has always been the case. Fries rarely appear on the kids menus.

Are all those places going to be open now? I was hoping for Columbia Harbor House

That I'm not sure of, but what is and isn't open will be an evolving situation anyway - not sure when you're traveling but the more state restrictions are lifted, the more restaurants I expect to see open.

My DH can’t eat many vegetables anymore, and I’m not sure we’ve ever requested fries at any restaurant in Disney and been told they weren’t available. There may be some, but I do t know right off hand. And you can always bring some in with you from another in-park location if it’s critical. We’ve never once had an issue doing that at Disney.

True, my thought was since I didn’t see them on several menus as I was booking our dining(FINALLY!) I assumed that due to the virus they may not be able to do them for health reasons. I may tell my little guy he’s just going to have to eat things he has no interest in lol.

My concern is Disney is restricting menus right now to not risk over stocking on items, less guests so less sales, and less employees in the kitchen for social distancing. I would not count on them having anything extra that is not on the menu. It wouldn't make sense.

I would play around with the mobile ordering options in the app to see which substitutions are available for quick service kids meals to put your mind at ease. I tend to order kids meals for lunch, especially where I can sub my drink for a small fountain beverage and get powerade. It was nice to know all of my options ahead of time.

They generally aren't listed on the kids menu (sometimes you'll see fries can be substituted etc.) Generally if the place has fries, you can get them with a kids meal. Any restaurants in particular you're looking at?

As pp said, you won’t find it on the main menu. Kids meals come with the healthy options by default. On the in park menu it isually say in small print what subs can be made, and mobile ordering has unhealthy options listed. This has me thinking...why isn’t mickey check meals and healthy(ish) sides as the default a thing for adults too?

Thanks for the replies! My personal thought was due to the social distancing needed due to the virus, they are limited to what they can and can’t do in the kitchens. Hopefully someone will see this post while they are there, and post what they are experiencing. Right now I have reservations at Skipper Canteen, Brown Derby, The Wave, garden grill, Via Napoli(not worried about that because Pizza lol),The Plaza, and Kona Cafe. I know here in my town menus are limited and that is the norm. Have a great weekend!

I mean, yes and no. Many restaurants (including the one my husband works at) pared down their menus a bit to control costs while they could only do curbside/takeout. Most have gone back to full menus now that they can do outdoor and limited indoor seating.

Even in "normal" times, if a food item isn't anywhere on the menu (kids or adults menu), they can't get it for you. The only dining locations that I'm aware of which share a kitchen are Hollywood & Vine and 50s Prime time, so that would be the only place you could reasonably order something that is "off menu" at one place as long as it was offered at the other. Outside of that, the kitchens are always independent of each other.

Of the list that you posted, I am pretty sure Plaza and possibly the Wave are the only ones that have Fries on the menu even if it's only on the adult menu.
