Inexpensive FUN holiday gift.... LCR dice game

How many quarters do you start with? I am going to a convention in a few weeks and this looks like it would be a fun way to pass the time.

ETA: When you have more than 3 people do your play more than one game at a time?

Robin, you play with 3 chips, quarters, whatever.

No, you only need the 3 dice to play no matter how many are playing.

We have played LCR for over a year and it is soo much fun.

What is pass the pigs?

Pass the Pigs is a game where these little pigs are dice and you score point according to how they fall. Like if they fall on their back its a razorback and you get a certain amount of points. They can land on their side or up on their snout. It gets to be really fun in a rowdy group. If they land a certain way its pig out and you lose all of your points. You can usually find it will all the little travel games. We enjoy playing it and the kids can play along too. We always have a hard time finding games the kids can play and the adults can enjoy as well.

I found LCR at a teachers store many years ago! I guess it was to teach kids their left from right.
We play at most family parties and it can get wild, especially when using dollars and you have 10 people. My only problem was it taught my kids gambling very early on. But then I figured it was no worse then Bingo. :goodvibes
My adult sons play with their friends with $5 bills-now that is scary. Huge pots!

We love LCR. Haven't played in awhile, though. Think I'll have to pull it out and play soon!! :teeth:

We usually play with quarters, but have played with dollars at a friend's house. Now THAT was fun!! :teeth:

I will definately try to find this game around here (Don't want to pay shipping). It sounds great for the family. We spend many nights playing games together.

Thanks, OP, for the suggestion!

Thanks, I ordered three on ebay! This will make great fill in presents for my family, and I got us one too! We are hosting Christmas for the first time this year (wish me luck) and we will definitely be breaking this out after dinner. Thank you so much!!

OH MY!!! $5 pots no way to scary for me thats a lot of money lost super fast!
I was trying to think of something kids can play with besides money, but oh well it can help them learn to count money lol. I ll just stick my younger ones with pennies, and yeah it prob is no worse than bingo lol.

You could play with marbles couldn't you? If you could control them rolling around that is, I'm not sure exactly how this works, lol.

My favorite game!! We play with all the relatives(ages 4 1/2 to 70). We play with quarters and we have sooo much fun. I think this game is a blast for all ages. If you don't own one, go grab one. It is such an exciting game!!

Oh my I didn't think anyone else played Pigs! We have so much fun with that game. DH and his best friend like to make up new pig positions and give them points. :rotfl2: (they cheat ;) too).

Could you play LCR with candy? I am in charge of the 8th grade Christmas party and I need a game for 31 8th graders. Something to keep them interested and out of trouble! Would you feel comfortable taking it to school?

Oh yeah i totally would bring it to school, it comes with small chips.. but you need more for that big of group. I would break kids at the least into 2 groups, but 3 would prob be the easiest. Since its a school party you dont want it to take to long to get around the table and give them candy to play with that would be soo fun. Little mini candy bars would be neat, if you could keep them from eathing them lol.

We had the Pigs game when I was little, may still be in mom's closet! We got it at Spencer Gifts which are no longer around here. Where can you get the LCR game? Besides online with shipping cost?

Love this game too! We have an old one....it was my dh's from his childhood. His is called "Pig-Mania" but it's the same concept. :)

We actually took this game to the hospital in the Lamaze bag for dd's birth. Unfortunately I walked in 10 cm dilated so we never played! :) :lmao:

Check your mall. They usually have those "game and puzzle" stores that go in for the Christmas season. That's where I found mine.

I wanted to come back and say thank-you. I got one for my son's 14th birthday party with the family. This can be a difficult group to have together (all the in laws on both sides) but they all played and had such a good time. It was by far the most stress free evening we have spent with all of them. They even suggested we bring LRC to Thanksgiving next week. So Thank-you OP!!!! :thumbsup2

WELL you are very welcome!!! Im glad you all had fun. My dh and I sat around the other night teaching our 4 yr old to play lol. He has recently figured out right and left... so it was easy and he had a good time. We have 20 coming for Thanksgiving and we are looking foward to lively game after the meal.
