I love credit cards so much! v7.0 - 2025 (see first page for add'l details)

I've been denied twice for Chase Biz cards. One was December 2024, but I had three open chase biz cards when I applied. I closed one in February, when it reached a year since opening - applied for a new card, two days later and was denied again. Both letters said "too many requests for credit or open accounts with us" and "insufficient business revenue." I have five open personal cards (CSP, CFU, CFF and 2 OG Freedoms). And I was 3/24 when applying. I'd like to try again. Do you think the number of personal cards matter? I could close a Freedom. Maybe I didn't wait long enough after closing the last card before applying? Any thoughts/advice?

Edit to add: I just checked the Chase Credit Journey - Experian report and it says I have 9 credit checks. I looked at the dates and 5 of them are chase business cards (including the two denials). I know this was an issue recently with biz apps showing on credit reports, but I thought it was fixed. They shouldn't be showing right?

Credit checks will show for both business and personal applications, even if you aren’t approved.
The issue recently was the actual business cards showing on the report as open accounts.

Not sure about the number of personal but check your total credit to see if it’s too high

oh shoot, I thought I had figured out the reason for the denials. Total credit is under $75k, so that should be ok, right? Is it usually wait 30 days after a denial before trying again?

I'm you didn't wait 14 days from closing one till next app,and your acct still showed as open? (this is still the recommended timing, right?)

I try not to worry about not having backup with me. I am fit and healthy and take all necessary precautions when I travel to limit risks. If I needed backup either my sister or ds could fly to wherever I am and my travel insurance would cover the cost of their flights and accommodations. There are places that I would not consider going solo such as Africa, parts of S. America, certain areas in Mexico, etc.

Destinations I go where my heart leads me; currently that is back to back to Japan next January, perhaps followed by a detour to Labjuan Bajo to see komodo dragons in their natural habitat. Also there are places that I'd like to visit again, such as Norway, Italy (can never get enough of Italy), Antarctica, London (trying for once per year or so), etc. I'd also like to visit Morocco, Iceland, Egypt and Churchill, MB (polar bears!!), to name a few places!
Well,I've decided to go for it solo- gonna dip my toes in somewhere 'easy' and see how I like it- I think a few days in DC will be fun..... here's hoping it all goes as planned! Maybe after this I can try somewhere "bigger" (I've got to say, it's intimidating knowing I'm not going to be meeting anyone I know for meals etc while there)

Do you do stuff solo at home? Movies, eating out with a waiter not counter etc, not just running errands.

If it's not something you are comfortable doing on your own at home I'd start there before traveling. There's nothing weird about doing anything alone. Sure sometimes, though not as much in the past few years as over a decade ago, telling a hostess one would sometimes get a reaction. I think it's more common now but also I don't care, I just want to eat.

I'm also an only child so I often played by myself and just learned early that if I want to do something and I don't want to miss out on it then I need to go alone or be ok with not going. Am I still annoyed with myself for not going to see Romy & Michelle the musical when it came to Seattle, yes but at the time I just didn't want to deal with going by myself. But I also skip stuff in general when it's in Seattle because it's become so annoying/$$ to park in and the light rail takes too long.

The other thing to remember and it holds for at home too, when you are out, you'll probably never see these people again so it doesn't matter what they think and no one will probably say anything anyway.

You should be okay with that, the other thing I do before a business application now is make sure I have a balance on my existing business cards….no idea if it helps or not but 🤞have been getting instant approvals

so finally got my friend to get a CSR, he added his wife as an AU is he out of luck for the SUB for the new 100k? or can his DW cancel her card and apply on her own for a year?>
or can he get them to do the difference for the 40k?

If he signed up for the CSR, chase will not match it to the CSP offer.

As far as his wife’s AU card, she can still apply for her own CSP card. Is he aware there is AU annual fee…I’m not sure of the amount on the CSR ?

Looks like the 100K CSP offer is now available online! Rumor is the support links are coming 4/8. Hoping this sticks around a few weeks... I need to wait until May 1 to app.
P2, 2nd Chase profile, only has on personal card currently, and 3 biz. One of which I can close next week. The biz cards should not affect a CSP should it? His 1st profile had a CSP in 2020, but his 2nd profile has only ever had the current Disney premier from October.
Of course with my luck this app would go to his original profile that just opened a Chase biz a few weeks ago.
And boy, laptop, prop taxes, income taxes, camper insurance, car license fees and 2 dental crowns put one heck of a dent in the CIP spend LOL.

Perfect timing for me. My AF just posted the other day. I plan to call tomorrow to downgrade. Then I will reapply with P2's support when the offer is elevated to 100K.

Does anyone know what might up with my Chase.com/mybonus? It has only populated an offer for me once and that was several quarters ago. I have 5 personal cards, and 5 business cards, none of them give me offers.

I have a really stupid question. I have a Hilton stay tomorrow night, and my app says I get a $15 food/beverage credit. How do I use that? And can it be used for a cocktail?

Yes it can be used for a cocktail. When I used it in San Diego you had to charge it to the room and then it came off the folio before settling.

You should be able to use it for anything that codes as food/beverage that you charge to your room. Make sure you are registered for 2 guests and you’ll get $15x2=$30.00 for each night of your stay. Typically, you have to use it each night of your stay or you lose it. Meaning, if you stay 5 nts, you can’t pool all your credits and spend $150 on your last day.

PYB categories through 6/30/25 on my CSR this morning…Gas, Grocery stores(excluding Walmart and target), pet supply stores and veterinary services, select charities and annual fee
Well that's interesting. I ended up putting my emergency vet bill on my CSR and now I could cash out all my URs if I wanted to lol
But also I did not realize the categories were changing and I had some utility bills I was going to pay myself back for that I missed out on. Boo.

Thanks. It’s just me and I am there for two separate nights leaving for the night in between. My 2nd night is booked through cap one to use my $250 credit so that stay isn’t in my Hilton App.

Doesn’t appear I can add a 2nd person at this point.
