I love credit cards so much! v7.0 - 2025 (see first page for add'l details)

Amex targeted me for the Blue Business Plus 75k for 6k spend 0% for 12 months. I cant decide if I should go for it or not. I currently hold 3 Amex business credit cards, 2 Amex business charge cards, 1 Amex personal credit card. Any downside to getting this card? I got Cap One Venture, CIP, and Hawaiian within the last month. I have 50k in expenses (federal taxes and DVC)

Which AP's do you have? Is that the Sorcerer pass renewal? I just activated a certificate for an old platinum pass from 2015 on my last trip. It had cost me $561 including tax back then. Had the photo pass thing on it as well, so it was the equivalent of the Incredipass (says so in MDE) and the photo thing. Now I'm fretting about how to proceed in February of next year when it expires. Meanwhile I now have 4 more trips booked between now and then. Meanwhile MMB gave me the 30 day memory maker and looks like I won't need it this year. Wondering if it will stay on my account after Dec 31?

Meanwhile in credit card news I am being hounded by Amex to upgrade my Surpass to an Aspire. Hard no. Unless they come through with a decent points offer to get me an easy free night to go along with the one already coming with the card. But, if not, I'll close the Surpass before next AF and app for the Aspire or I'll try to take it down to the basic card. I need to get rid of some more cards also. I think the Hyatt is on the chopping block since they raised the points needed for the Hyatt Regency MCO. It was useful just for that free night but I can always use UR's if necessary. I culled out a Disney card but have another one ready to go also. My credit line with Chase is way above what people talk about on here and this path should deplete it. They give me smaller lines for UR products but huge lines for other cards.

Also need some Staples fee free visa or MC. Got bills to pay soon. Will drop $200 at a time onto my electric bill for March, April, May, as it will be higher by June so Just put over $950 on my Freedom for the insurance 5%, saved the Amex $20 offer for something else as it's good until December 31. There is a Harris Teeter offer out there that I may do a $500 gc on with Freedom 'if' I'm close to HT soon.

Okay, just musing here so off to do anything.
We do have the DVC Sorcerer’s AP. Mine has the $99 memory maker and DH’s does not. I’m not sure about the MMB memory maker, but from what I understand everything included with it will expire 12/31/25 no matter when it was purchased.

I have no AmEx cards. I thought about getting the Hyatt card, but decided not to and just transfer UR’s when needed. I’ve been debating whether to stay at Hyatt MCO in august because we have a late arrival that first night or to just go on and use DVC points and get there and settled before we hit the parks the next morning. I have to discuss with DS because they plan to save the money on flights and make the 12 hour drive. So if they plan on being there early on the same night we arrive, we will just use DVC points for sure.

On a happy note, our waitlist came through for BWV in May. We were split staying Poly and CCV, but put the waitlist in just last week for BWV (instead of CCV). I was hoping, but not confident it would come through, but glad it did. I wanted to be closer to Epcot for a couple days.

So sad to be sitting here in MI instead of Galway today. My daughter told me 20 times to cancel, then today asked if we'll ever ge there. UGH! I told her we are okay to go, even w/ her brother having surgery. Heck he was out on the deck w/ a hockey stick in his left hand on Friday (when we were supposed to leave). I now have IHG and Hyatt credits to use, and the $50 Hilton. I wanted to take the kids to San Diego next week during my son's spring break. But now I have added ANOTHER job to my plate, and I have to work at that! UGH.

Is there a way to see why my Hilton Honors application was denied? It said I would get a letter in the mail. I haven't. And the email I got didn't show that application when I clicked the link, it did show all my other Amex apps though. Can I just try again? Do I need to wait? I was using a NLL link off either Reddit or DOC.

I'm catching up on about 10 pages, but before I even got to this I wondered if you were working on an Ireland trip this month! The Sphere is a great choice if she'd rather that, not that you'd need Vegas advice from anyone!!

We don't have Ireland plan this year, though we'd love to, but we're going to Italy/Switzerland in May so no complaints.
I'm seriously gutted we're not there this year. UGH. She was totally okay w/ it, until today. She's in a terrible mood though, and apparently hates her bday :(.

Ha good lordy I hope not, I have a plat that will need to switch back eventually. I have moved mine up and down over and over.
Just called AMEX and asked to change my Delta Plat to Gold. Was also told on the phone that they cannot not do that...Now, I am stuck. I need to have a Delta Card but when I apply for the Gold I am in PUJ - I hate to have to suck it up and pay the annual fee on this one... UGHHH!!!

I'd huca, mostly because you are the first I've seen of anyone not being able to downgrade any amex card. It seems super weird they'd stop allowing it and I feel like either you have bad luck with who you are getting or are the 1st. This is something that would make DoC, r/churning and r/Amex and there's enough of us reading one or all of those that someone would have seen something.

Many of us do. I like to think of point currencies like diversifying a financial portfolio. I don't want all my eggs in one basket. In addition to Chase URs and Amex URs, I also keep Citi Thank You Points. I will likely add Cap1 down the line. Additionally, various hotel programs and their points are beneficial when it comes to mitigating vacation costs for some of us. Hilton, Hyatt, Marriott, IHG, Wyndham etc.
i agree with this 100% but capital one what does it have that the others don't? I think with Amex/aa/chase ur you have everything covered no?

It's a great offer. Only small downside I can think of is it will take up your last Amex credit card slot.

HR MCO is going up to a category 5 on March 25, so you'd want to decide before then (or just book it in case).

I think you'll have to call because you don't know when the 5th credit card you canceled will actually fall off in the system.

The lady I first spoke to told me I could do that but would have to go through one of the specialists. Then came back and said this card was no eligible for DG to the Gold.

Would it matter that this card started out as Delta Gold Biz in 2019. I got an offer to upgrade to Plat and did that in 2021. Got Retention offer so kept the Plat but now can't seem to DG to Gold...

I have gone up and down several times on my Delta card, that I have had since 2007. I am currently upgraded to a plat, I am going to be very very upset if I can't go back. I too need a card, and this is one of my older cards in my credit history.

It sounds like PP is using Delta Biz cards. Is yours a personal? I have downgraded my personal to the blue card when I wasn't planning on flying with delta during the year.

Very weird. Grasping at straws here, but could it be a minimum CL issue?

Alternatively - if you really can't PC, you can still open the card without SUB. P2 would still get the support. Since it's a biz card and Amex won't hard pull you, the only "cost" to do it this way would be digging your hole deeper with Amex by canceling a card.

So they don’t pull for biz cards? That would be amazing not to have to unlock my credit.

That might be an option... hmmm. Will have to think about that. I have a few weeks before the annual fee is due.

I hope this isn't the case. I'm planning yo cancel my biz gold when the af hits because I just got the plat biz. My full intent was to downgrade back down after a year. I can't see why it would matter.

It's not a cl thing either because gold is the lower card.

I never unfreeze when I app for amex. I haven't had a hp since my first card with them which was the above mentioned dl biz gold. Maybe I shouldn't close it...

This is a pretty awesome perk imo.
