I love credit cards so much! v7.0 - 2025 (see first page for add'l details)

Have any of you stayed next to the London Eye? After looking at lots of options and very high prices for a family of 3 in July, we found a Radisson that we really like. Our original thought was to stay next to Hyde Park but it looks like that probably won’t happen.

I can't answer your question about staying near the London Eye, but...Do you have any URs that you could transfer to Hyatt? I have found that Hyatt hotels have some of the best redemption rates, and there are a number of options in London. I am planning a trip to London with my mom in April (a first for both of us), and I was able to get 7 nights at the Hyatt Regency Churchill for 175,000 points (25k per night). I then connected on another website with a Hyatt Globalist member who had a Suite Upgrade award and they transferred the reward to me, so now we have a suite for those 7 nights. The Great Scotland Yard Hotel and the Andaz London are 2 other Hyatt hotels in London that get good reviews.

the SWA 2 month CP offer....I have an upcoming trip that falls into the category for getting this with no effort.... but if I use p2's points to book will I get the CP? or does he? (I input my rr# for ticket and already registered)

We used pretty much all of our URs to transfer to Virgin for our flights. Most of the Hyatts in July didn’t have award availability for 3. I think we’re planning to do cash back sign up bonuses and bank bonuses to help pay for the hotel. We have 220k Amex points though

We stayed at the Great Scotland Yard Hotel in late August and it was great, in terms of the hotel/room, breakfast and (in particular) location. While that's not an option for you, the London Eye area is just across the river and also within walking distance to many major attractions, e.g. Westminster Abbey, Big Ben, Horse Guards Parade, Downing Street, Churchill War Rooms, Buckingham Palace, St. James Park, Trafalgar Square, etc. I went back and forth on the Churchill or GSY and chose the GSY for location and it didn't disappoint. By extension, I think the area around the London Eye would be a great base location as well. Happy to answer any questions.

Thanks for the response! We ended up booking a studio room with two separate sleeping areas, a view of the London Eye, and includes breakfast. The hotel is the Park Plaza County Hall. I’m pretty excited! It was the same price and actually cheaper than a lot of the other hotels we were looking at and those would’ve been in standard rooms with no breakfast.

We’ll only have about 4 1/2 days so I need to start narrowing down our list of things to do. We have too many things lol.

We stayed here last fall. Very attractive price, decent rooms on the small side, but super convenient to Victoria Station - underground, rail, and buses - about a 5-10 minute walk. Plenty of restaurants in the neighborhood. We would stay there again.

We also stayed in this one near St. Pancras and Kings Cross Stations. We also would stay there again.

That location is very convenient to Waterloo Station and also the Imperial War Museum. At Waterloo, I think I saw Jason Bourne, but I'm not sure. He had his head down... :scratchin

The IWM is a great stop if you're interested in WWII history. This part was very solemn.

Long shot -- anyone here ever use "tickets at work" to book a cruise? Going to cross post this to the Budget Board to broaden the views. Thanks in advance!

I have an offer on my Amex for $150 back for a purchase of $375 or more at Marriott Bonvoy. Looking at these T&Cs, would the Dolphin qualify? It's on the Marriott app, technically a Sheraton, but this doesn't say excludes Sheraton properties.

Qualifying Purchases

Offer valid only on room rate and room charges at participating Marriott Bonvoy® properties in the U.S. and U.S. territories, the Caribbean, Canada and Mexico. Reservations must be made online at Marriott.com, via the Marriott Bonvoy® App or by calling 1-888-236-2427. Excludes The Ritz-Carlton®, St. Regis®, EDITION®, The Luxury Collection®, W Hotels®, JW Marriott®, Marriott Vacation Club®, Design Hotels™, Protea Hotels by Marriott®, Marriott Executive Apartments®, Homes & Villas by Marriott Bonvoy®, and Vistana™. Excludes gift card purchases. Not valid for online retail purchases, hotel amenities, or purchases of Marriott Bonvoy® points. Qualifying purchase means a purchase at a participating Marriott Bonvoy® property made during the offer period with your enrolled American Express Card and which is in an amount totaling at least $375 USD as posted to your account, following conversion from a foreign currency, if applicable, in accordance with your Cardmember Agreement. Offer not valid for lodging stays that are paid for before the promotion start date or after the promotion end date.

Haha, yes, narrowing down our list of things to do was tough. We walked over 40 miles in 4 days!

I would expect this to work on Dolphin as billing wise it codes as a Sheraton. I have used Sheraton specific offers at Dolphin on my Wells Fargo and US Bank cards. Fwiw you can call Swolphin direct and pre-pay any remaining amount you want, I like to do that to hit offers before my trips.

ETA- is this offer new today?

No it's not a new offer, not sure when I added it, but it expires 3/31/25.
