How are rooms reserved far ahead of opening?

I look at room availability as far out as possible, and rooms are taken when the date has not come yet. I am not expressing this very well.
Today, 2/10/2025, the rooms are gone for 1/10/2026-1/16/2026. How do they do that?
It seems too often to say they just booked today for a full week. Someone, or lots of people, are on first thing and getting every room when it becomes bookable, or somehow some people are getting around the dates. I know there are faster connections and people than me, but how does anyone ever get a club room at AKV?
It isn't just walking, because they aren't ever available later. Unlimited points?

In this case, a combination of fastest fingers and internet to get started, walking, and finally luck. Just so few rooms at AKV club level.

Everybody seems to want it now. It's gotten extremely popular.

I don't own at AKV and have been lucky enough to get random nights there in the past but that's only a dream these days! I enjoy the resort as do many people.

I would say keep trying but don't count on it.

ALso remember that you can book arrival day + several days beyond, so those rooms may have disappeared a couple of days ago to somone arriving on the 8th or 9th.

AKL club or value rooms are gone by 8:00:01 EST, if you aren't hitting that button at exactly 8:00 am your chances are almost nonexistent.

Could be wrong here but 1/10/2026 looks like it may be the Saturday of race weekend? So this is an incredibly popular time and people are likely booking starting mid week at the latest through the full weekend either intending to go or sell to those who are. So it could also be just a bad time for this example.

I am guessing there was either a system problem or what you actually saw was not reservations for all club level rooms for 7 nights beginning Jan 10, 2025, but instead a designation that the club level rooms will be out of service for those dates, possibly as part of the planned refurbishment of AKV DVC rooms starting with Kidani this year and continuing into next year with Jambo (and if they are doing all those club level rooms at the same, they will likely assume they will be refurbed fairly quickly and the rooms should be shown as available again beginning a little later in Jan).

It is highly unlikely, absent a closing of the rooms or a problem with the system, that one would otherwise see a room category actually filled for 7 nights at 11-months out from one given date of arrival If the rooms were actually in service. That could happen only if no one who reserved shortly before Feb 10 had Jan 10 as one of the nights they would be in a club level room. Example if one member had a reservation for a club level studio for an arrival date of Jan 7 and a departure date of Jan 11, then, on Feb 10, though Jan 10 could be shown as filled for studios, the system would still show Jan 11 and after as open because that member will check out on Jan 11 and make a room available to be reserved beginning then. In other words, absent taking rooms out of service or having a system issue, if you see, on Feb 10, all the studios filled for 7-nights beginning Jan 10, the only way that could happen is for all those who already had reservations with arrival dates shortly before Jan 10 were checking out on Jan 10, and those getting those rooms early on Feb 10 with a reservation starting Jan 10 were all booking for seven nights . That is not something likely to occur.
