Help with deciding which room Contemporary or Boulder Ridge

Warning long post of indecisiveness.

I have two rooms booked right now and really indecisive on which to keep. I booked a two bedroom theme park view suite at the contemporary and a two bedroom villa at boulder ridge (cash not DVC points). 3 night stay so not a long trip, but during spring break so busy time.

The contemporary one I booked with a bounce back offer otherwise it would have been too expensive. It’s slightly more than boulder ridge but not by a huge amount.

Here’s my dilemma of which to keep:

The contemporary seems to be doing renovations to the roof and have had to move people out of the rooms this month. Mine isn’t until another month, but I’m worried about being moved. Since it’s during spring break other rooms are limited and with our party number we technically fit into a normal sized room which will not work for us at all. I am still somewhat leaning towards this since we can’t do this without a bounce back and I don’t see this room available often.

The trip is over my mom’s birthday she’ll be 74 and it’ll be first time over her actual birthday we will be at Disney. My dad’s birthday is a few days later. So both will be celebrating.

Boulder Ridge I know is newly renovated, we’ve only stayed in the main building before so it would be something new. I love layouts of 2 bedrooms I find them really quiet with it all inside doors and none to outer hallways unlike the contemporary suite. I’m a very light sleeper so that’s a huge plus for me. Pool time is important to my kids (1 and 4) and haven’t been in either hotels pools before. This hotel would save money which is always good. Don’t love the transportation options as much we will have 2 strollers and I know some of the boats have to fold them and every other park is a bus. This room didn’t have any discounts available but was still cheaper than the contemporary discounted room.

Honestly I’d really rather stay at the Poly Tower again. We just came back from there and loved it. We watched fireworks from our balcony every night and then the kids went right to bed. But it’s booked up so these are my options. I’ve asked my husband for some input and he said which ever one I want is fine, which isn’t really helpful. I’d like to cancel one of them so I don’t have so much money tied up in a room I’m not even going to stay in.

Help please!

Are they moving people from contemporary, or BLT? I thought the renovations were happening at BLT?

It was someone on here that was moved out of club due to the roof construction on contemporary. Separate from the construction happening at Bay Lake Tower. I tried calling Disney to get any information and the person I talked to didn’t know about it. I saw the crane when I was at Disney

Got it. Would the 2 bed suite be in the garden wing though, not in the main tower? If it’s one of those suites I’d do the CR one over BRV because you get club access as well for similar pricing.

I would vote for keeping the CR Theme park view, if you plan on watching the fireworks from your room at night. We've had partial-theme park views at BLT and I love watching the fireworks from my own private balcony at night. After a day of bumping shoulders with hundreds of my besties at the parks, I like having that personal space at the end of the day to watch the fireworks.

If you don't plan to watch the fireworks from your room at night, I would vote for the BRV room. I think the pool and splash pad are better here and your kids would probably enjoy them more. The "DVC" pool is a zero entrance pool and is really good for the little ones.

It’s in the tower on the top floor I believe. The one bedroom suite in the garden wing mentions it being in the garden wing mine doesn’t. There are definitely more perks with the contemporary room just so nervous about being moved

Did you call Disney Signature Services at 407-939-7777 or email them at disney.signature.services@disneyworld.com since you have a Club Level reservation? Please include your dates and Confirmation number if using email.

They are available seven days a week from 9 to 5 Eastern Time. Ask the CM at DSS to contact the Tower Club to see if a CM at the CR has more information. Based on recent posts it is confirmed that the crane is now at the south end of the Tower working on the roof area that would be right above the 2 BR TPV Suite.

Definitely would watch the fireworks if we go with a view of it. The kids go to bed around 8 but would push bedtime so they could watch. Our last trip was the first time the baby saw them and she was obsessed. Couldn’t do it in the park since they go to bed pretty much immediately after.

My 4 year old loves splash pads she spent a few hours at the Moana one at poly.

That was the number I called. The woman I spoke to had no idea they were doing anything to the roof. Do you know how long the crane seems to stay over a certain area? I know with roof work it could take a while so even though I’m not going for a month idk if that’s a good amount of time or not

Only based on transportation, I’d pick contemporary. Our trip at BLT, we would walk to mk in the morning and ride monorail back. However we never left near park closing.

Right the CMs at DSS don't have specific resort details. However they are able to contact the Tower Club Concierge team directly and they should have some information about any Tower Club guests be relocated in the next 30 days. Give them another call and specifically ask the CM to check with the Tower Club.

If they relocate you from that 2 BR TPV Suite they will not put your group in a standard CL room regardless of how many guests are in your travel party.

It does seem to be moving quick for this roof work but who knows if they will be done, and move the crane before your visit next month.

If you are sensitive to noise, I might avoid BRV. I love it, but depending on where your room is, you will hear the whistle of the boats going between the WL/MK and FW (after 3pm). It's literally from early morning until late at night. If you aren't facing the lake, it's not as noticeable. And if you are far down the hallway, it's not as noticeable there, either. But it's a LONG hall! I can't remember the location of the 2BR's in BRV, we usually stay in the 1BR's - don't have a need for the two!

The transportation is great from there especially with littles and strollers. We never stay late in the parks now with early bed times

Thanks I’ll try and call and ask them. Am I able to talk to the tower club or they ask them my questions and get back to me?

That’s good to know about BRV. We’ve stayed in Wilderness lodge a few times and copper creek which has been really convenient. I guess I could ask for not a lake facing view to limit the sound

So I tried calling and they said they didn’t have a phone number to reach tower club directly. They said at this time they don’t have any information on the construction and they would reach out before my trip if I need to be moved. So pretty much same place of knowledge I was at before lol

If it didn't bother you at the WL before, then you will probably be fine at BRV, especially if you aren't facing the lake. Enjoy your trip!

We enjoy both resorts for different reasons. The CR is so conveniently located. It’s a quick walk to the MK. There are some great restaurants (Steakhouse 71 and California Grill) along with Chef Mickey’s if a character meal is on your agenda. The views for fireworks are awesome. However, the pools are not a strong point in my opinion.

We recently stayed in a two-bedroom unit at BRV and loved it. The renovations were very well done. Our room faced the woods - no view to speak of; lots of trees ;) (room #4528); it was quiet even though it was only a few feet across from the elevator. We have generally found the BRV building to be pretty quiet. The pools are really nice. Geyser Point is one of our favorite WDW restaurants and many kids especially seem to enjoy the Whispering Canyon Cafe located in the hotel lobby. Artist Point has a character dinner. Transportation is okay (if you don’t mind using buses) and the bus stop is very close to the BRV building. Watercraft is also available to the MK.

You can’t go wrong with either resort; we’ve stayed at both multiple times. Good luck with your decision!

I’d say go with Boulder Ridge. I’ve stayed there before, and the two-bedroom villas are perfect if you want more space and quiet – especially with young kids. The contemporary is tempting with the bounce back offer, but the renovation thing would worry me, especially during such a busy time. Boulder Ridge is more affordable, and even though the transportation isn’t ideal, the quieter atmosphere and the layout might be a better fit for your family. I get it – it's tough when you’re torn, but for a trip like this, I think Boulder Ridge would be more relaxing overall.

The CR suite is tempting but I've stayed at WDW resorts during construction before and I wouldn't ever do it again. I found it very disruptive and it wasn't worth the discount I got on the room. I was recently moved from POFQ to AK because of a refurbishment and that was a lovely upgrade. If they have to move you from a CR two-bedroom suite, there just aren't a ton of rooms on property that compare to that room and almost no way to upgrade you. I don't think I would risk it.
