Help me decide between the Treasure or Lighthouse Point

My family in five and I would like to cruise and we’re trying to decide between a five night itinerary that goes to castaway and lighthouse point or seven night itinerary that goes to eastern ports on the treasure.
Both the island and that ship are new to us. Know that this is our 11th cruise and we’ve done most all things and been on all five of the previous ships. Ideally I would’ve liked to pick cruise that checked off both boxes, but nada. We can really only afford one cruise in the near future. The next one won’t probably be until at least 2027.

Everyone is going to say 7 days is better than 5 agree with this. You said you went on all the other ships , did you like the Wish because the Treasure is going to be the same layout different themes. How young are your kids you can’t beat the kids club on the new ships.

If you are beach people maybe you would like the two beach stops. I really didn’t like Lighthouse point. Maybe it we grow on me , the water is beautiful with no little stones in the sand. It’s all board walks , most chairs are behind the dunes. Can’t say much about the kids areas on it though since we were 3 adults.

I am in the camp of choosing the longer cruise over the new location. Lookout has gotten mixed reviews, we have gone and enjoyed it. While it was beautiful and I enjoyed it, I didn't enjoy it more than Castaway. I wouldn't want to give up the extra days just to see it.

The Treasure has been getting a lot of great reviews and I am really looking forward to sailing the Treasure in May. We enjoyed the Wish, even though it gets a lot of criticism. I'm sure I'll really enjoy the Treasure because the themes and décor look really awesome to me.

All that being said, if you really didn't like the Wish, that may detract from your enjoyment of the Treasure.

Another vote for the longer experience. We've done both the Treasure (last week) and Lighthouse Point (August). I think the experience of a new ship for 7-nights far outweighs 8 hours on a private island.

Honestly, I didn't like Lookout Cay. I won't say hate, because a day on the beach always beats a day at the office, but it was definitely the worst beach I've had in my life.

I was really worried about the long walk with my kids, one who is special needs so gets overstimulated on long hot walks, but I asked if we could take the tram and was refused because neurodivergence is not a "mobility impairment"--it had to be something like a hip replacement or a back injury. We were even sailing concierge and had a cabana, which I did in the hopes it would help with the golf carts situation, but nope. And maybe for some people, or some cruises when the weather is nice, it is not a big deal. But we were there on a hot sunny day with no cover, and we were all miserable, and to this day it's the only thing my kids will talk about when we think of lookout cay--how horrible the long, hot walk was. To their credit, they did allow guests to take trams back whether or not they had mobility issues. The line was pretty ridiculous, because they didn't have nearly enough golf carts for the guests that wanted them, and there was no shade in line either so not sure that's any better than the walk, but that is an option.

The cabana beach was also a disappointment. Half the cabanas are on a rocky ledge where you are not permitted to enter into the water, so you have to walk down and enter the water with no lounger (there are a few "shared" loungers on the sandy/swimming part, but we witnessed a really ugly fight between two guests over the loungers).

Given we had a cabana which is on its own beach, we were a long tram ride away from the slides/splash pad, nature trail, and shops. We had planned to visit it, but talked to several other cabana guests who went there and said not to bother--according to them there was hardly any shade, no loungers available on the beach, and they waited over an hour in line for food and couldn't find a table so had to eat on the floor.

We were in the fall and water was choppy at our beach (and from what we heard, at both beaches). We've seen photos of calm waters others days so YMMV. But there is no sheltered lagoon like castaway, so if the water is rough, it is really unpleasant. Also the sand got churned up by the waves making it impossible to see anything when snorkeling.

Overall, we will never actively seek out going to Lookout Cay again; I won't rule it out, but only will go if it's on an itinerary that has both castaway and lookout.

I did leave my thoughts in the guest experience survey but was never contacted about it, so either Disney didn't care, or had too many complaints to respond to them all.

I love these honest opinions ! Please keep them coming!

I truly missed the lack of walking deck in the Wish, and honestly I wasn’t a fan of the gold Christmas decor either. We’d be sailing though in a much warmer month. And to me the Wish felt extremely “princessy” and I only have boys. I agree the themes on the Treasure seem way more up our alley. The boys will be 20, 17/18 and 11 on our cruise and have literally grown up on DCL so they still like most parts of it. That and we usually only cruise every 18 months to 3 years so it’s nice to switch up our parks trips every few years.

I vote the Treasure. Take the 7 night cruise while you still have some control over the vacation schedule. Save LC for a time when it might be harder for everyone to be off at the same time and you can only get away for a few days.

I have two kids at two different colleges with different break schedules and between internships, summer jobs, summer classes, etc., it’s a hassle to coordinate anything. We basically have the last two weeks of December 2025 if we want to do anything longer than a 3/4 night cruise this year … and prices are crazy during that time.

Lookout Cay is not a place I am eager to go back to... We don't do DCL for any of the ports though to be honest.

2025 has sadly proven to be not the right year for us to do the Treasure, but we are very open to doing it in 2026 depending on dates/itineraries aligning with us...

I have not done the Treasure yet- going in a month. I did do Lookout Cay last October on a 6 night 2 Castaway/Lookout/Nassau Halloween on the high seas cruise on the Fantasy.

The pier is long. Felt it on the walk back. There is a pretty long tram ride to where the stuff is. The beach is the Atlantic Ocean so much more wavy than CC . I was at the adult only beach. The food I thought was better than CC food. However the adult food area was super small and seating was limited. After eating lunch, I went back to the beach but the water was black flagged. So I went off and explored a bit. Hit the 2 stores and found the other dining areas which were much bigger than the adult only one. There’s not a lot of shade. Landscaping needs some time to grow in.

Treasure, hands down. I keep reading so many articles where people hated the Wish but somehow love the Treasure even though structurally it's the same ship. The power of the Haunted Mansion Parlor? I don't know. But, I'd definitely choose the longer itinerary, especially if you won't be sailing again for awhile. I haven't been on the Treasure but I've been to Lighthouse Point and it was not for me - especially not worth giving up 2 nights and seeing a new ship.

Apparently from what I have read about the Treasure, it’s more detailed than the Wish which from being finished after a global pandemic that wrecked the supply chain. I also think doing 3/4 nights vs 7 doesn’t help the Wish. Less activities and entertainment. I found I had way less interaction with my servers and cabin steward on my 3 night Wish cruise over Thanksgiving weekend last than my 6 night Fantasy sailing in October.

Totally agree on the 7 nights helping the Treasure. A lot of people complain about the Wish layout, but if you have 7 nights to get used to it, you have a chance to acclimate (and then can appreciate the detail) vs on the Wish, by the time you get your bearings you're already off the ship.

Definitely think doing the Wish already will definitely help me on the Treasure in a month. I know the layout already now. Coming from only being on the Fantasy then doing the Wish took the first day to figure out where things were and that there is no crossing from port to starboard midship because there’s no midship elevator bank. So you have to go all the way around the grand hall or the pool deck food court instead of cutting across.

I do wonder if this is why I didn’t come away from the Wish hating it, as I did a b2b. The itinerary is a big reason why I won’t sail the Wish again (unless I do another b2b or they mix up the itineraries when Wish class ship 4 sails) as 3 or 4 nights is just too short.

Yep, same for us. Flying to FL isn't worth it for 4 nights, so we did a B2B and I actually really enjoyed the Wish. But you pay such a premium for the Wish's short itineraries, I have a hard time justifying sailing it again when there are better options for a longer cruise.
