Have you ever given up doing online check in for your cruise?

Today is day 1 for us to do online check in. I tried early this morning to get it done before work. My passport photos wouldn't upload. I was able to upload my photo but I couldn't save my progress until both photos uploaded. I have used both of these for several cruises and never had an issue. I had to get to work and planned to get it done tonight.
So I tried again. This time I can upload my passport, but not my photo. Just that awful blue spinning circle.
I thought maybe it's my computer so I tried on my cell phone. Same BS.
We're Pearl so I don't have to worry about PAT but sheesh, if they're going to require us to do all this from home, they can at least use some program that isn't so glitchy. I will try a few more times and that's it. I'll be telling them at the port that their website keeps malfunctioning and they need to go back to paying humans to do this at the port like they used to.

I don’t understand why you can’t fill the stuff out beforehand and just review it before submitting when check in opens up. I have done mine at midnight and didn’t have site issues but definitely had site issues trying to book summer 2026 cruise when booking opened.

I tried again but instead of starting at the beginning, I clicked on Onboard Account. It allowed me to enter my cc info and flight/transfers info. I uploaded the pp again and tried to click SAVE without uploading the photo. No go.
It's past my bedtime. I'll have to try some other time.

I've had it run really slow before but I've never had to close out what I'm doing before.

I had that same issue recently. Weirdly, it worked better for me if I had a saved photo rather than taking it right then. It also seemed to have less problems if I did the photo first and the passport 2nd. This may just be random chance, though.

It took me 6 or 7 tries to do my daughter. The rest of the family went fine.

I also hate how it always lays the picture on its side, regardless of what orientation I take the it...

That's odd. My pics never upload sideways. I never tried it with taking a picture; I always keep them saved for this purpose but I was about to try that next. It eventually worked last night after around the 10th attempt. This shouldn't have to be so difficult. What a relief our kids are grown now and it's only 2 of us.
Disney should consult with Amazon; they'd somehow make it super easy!

It's not just Disney. I never could get our pictures to pre-load on the Norwegian site and when I called them, the rep said that they know it's glitchy, just have them take your picture at the port.

For what it's worth, I checked in Tues night / Weds morning for a cruise (only silver here) and all the folks in our group were complaining that it was the worst check in they'd ever had. Personally, I think I had to close and reopen a couple dozen times across multiple browsers before it would finally take. At one point, it even had me through to the PAT form but then the form was blank. When I closed and reopened again, it said we didn't have any cruises booked and did we want to link one! Short of getting Sitch Ate The Page, it was Disney IT at its worst.

When you're ready to try again, I would use Incognito mode on your browser. I found incognito on Chrome to work the best, after bopping between several to try to get my stuff to go through.

I have had to give up check in before too. It was a few years ago before they started the castaway tiered check in system and all 4 ships were going out on the same day because it was the first after new years sailing and the system couldn’t handle that many people trying to check in all at once. I think I woke up at 5am and finished checking in.

I always check in early the next morning. Checkin never works for me at midnight. Always works the next morning.

Did you try using an incognito browser? That's pretty much my standard practice now so I don't have to re-enter passwords for every single site by cleaning my cache.
