Happy Entry Logistics Question

I feel like we may be overthinking this but given how illogical a lot of booking at Tokyo Disney is perhaps not.

We have unlimited VPs for day 1 and day 3 and plan to book at either MiraCosta (where our VPs are) or Tokyo Disney Hotel for night 2 room only. That should cover all of our park tickets (through the packages) and hotel nights.

If we want to do Happy Entry on the morning of day 3 (waking up in the hotel only room) how do we get our HE tickets and park passes? Can we pick them up the night before? When we check in on day 1? Or do we have to go all the way back to MiraCosta that morning to pick them up, thereby negating the benefit of early entry? Will our night 2 room give us early entry even though we would not yet qualify under our second package?

If we have to be at MC that morning anyway to get our tickets then it doesn’t make sense to try to stay at TDH, but if we can get them in advance it may be nice to be right there as that’s a Disneyland day.

If I am understanding your question correctly, you need to go to the hotel that is connected to your VP to pick up the package, which will include park tickets connected to the VP.

Again, assuming I an understanding your question correctly, some people have had success picking up their VP the night before and others have had to go to that hotel the morning the package starts to get all the tickets.

That was my question. If our package starts on day 3 when can we pick up the tickets? If not until day 3 (vs the night of day 2) doesn’t that negate the entire benefit of early entry?

We could only pick up our VP tickets at the hotel we had the VP - the morning of the first day of the package. Some folks have indicated that they could pick up the passes the night before, but we were told no. You'll probably need to ask there - and I'd do it in person at the VP resort.

It doesn't negate the benefit of HE, it just makes it a very early morning for you. If you are moving between Disney hotels, bell services will move your bags without you being there. But you might need to get to the lobby of your Day 3 hotel early for your tix, including HE.

We would be staying at the Disneyland Hotel Night 2 and our VPs are at Miracosta (Night 1 and Night 3). How long does it take to get between the two, and do all of us have to do or can one person pick up all of the tickets (2 rooms)?

Thank you for your help. I understand how to do the US parks really well, but this is so unintuitive to me.

Perhaps we bag the idea is staying at the Disneyland Hotel and look harder for MiraCosta options?

You're looking at a few minutes to walk to the monorail station, 5-10 minutes on the monorail, and then a few minutes to walk to MC. Maybe 15-20 minutes. Seems like earlier in the morning, there might be less wait at the MC front desk for your package.

If the package is in the name of a particular person in your party, they can probably be the one to pick it up? Honestly not sure about that since ours was a group of '2' and we were together getting our stuff. If you can work it out with your schedule, I'd probably see if I could fit in a visit to the MC front desk later in the day on day "2" to see if they can arrange to get you the package items a few hours early with your situation. It might not work, but they are very focused on the guest experience and might be able to help.

Is your HE for DIsneySea that morning? If so, remember you'll need to head outside the hotel to get to the park entry line (sorry if you already know that!). The entry to DS from inside MC doesn't open until later in the morning - 10AM when we were there.

Thanks. I’m never going to be offended if you remind me of things that I *should* know about Tokyo logistics. I probably don’t, and even if I do it’s still a good reminder.

I believe our HE is for DL that day, which is why we were thinking about making use of the early morning from the Disneyland Hotel (I believe packages go DL then DS and this would be day 1 of package 2).

I guess we’ll try going the night before (coming from DS anyway), and if that doesn’t work 2 of us can go back as early as we can that morning and we’ll leave the other 3 to sleep in or deal with breakfast.

I know it's stressful and complicated. But I can tell you it's worth it - we absolutely loved our experience at TDR. The parks are amazing, the people are amazing, and we wouldn't trade the up front anxiety for the great time we had - hope you have a similar amazing experience!

Our vacation package is Fantasy Springs Hotel but I had Disneyland Hotel booked the night before thinking we would pick up our VP the evening before and then be right at Disneyland for the first morning of the package. When I started reading people's mixed success at being able to pick it up the night before, I started to "stalk" the hotel reservation page and eventually was able to get a room in the Fantasy Springs Hotel. Different room category so we will still have to change rooms but at least we are there to pick up our package. I will still try to get it the night before but if we can't at least we are saving the back and forth time. It was a difficult decision and every time I read someone's report of being able to pick it up the night before I second guess my decision lol!
