Currently staying at the Grand Floridian. I may be in the minority but imo there needs to be another pool. No chairs available at any pools unless you stalk them out early in the morning which I’ve seen people do. ((not planning on doing this at a deluxe resort ever) Would love to see maybe a “quiet” pool in the works for the renovations.

Anyone else have an opinion on this?

There's already 2 pools at the resort. 🤷‍♀️

I wish the pools required a magic band/room key to access them. While dining at the Beaches Pool Bar & Grill last July as a resort guest, the lady next to me, a local, said she hangs out there multiple times each month.

It is tough finding a chair at GF pools in July! Folks throw towels on chairs when the pool opens, and then don’t return to actually use them for hours.

Chair hogs have to be the worst people at these resorts (besides non paying guests sneaking into the pools).

I can and do move those towels in a heartbeat. It’s very obvious when they belong to people who are legitimately there and just ran back to the room or something vs chair hogs. I wish we didn’t have to do this though.

We have never had an issue getting chairs at The Grand, and we only travel during busy holidays and summer.
Must be a bad week . I wonder why there is not a room access entry to get into pool like at poly ? Hopefully this is just an unusually busy pool week ( although temps are very moderate) and not guests from other resorts coming over .

Thank you thought it was just me

I’m wondering if it’s just extremely busy this week. People have resorted To sitting on wall around pools. 🤷🏻‍♀️

NYC schools are out for spring break starting tomorrow, unfortunately it’s going to be really busy this week.

Magic band access gates don’t stop people from sneaking into the Poly pools either though tbh. Nothing short of wristbands a la SAB is going to stop it.

I'll never understand why most pools lack lockers (and not just Disney - I go to the beach regularly and this is a problem there as well at the condo complexes). I don't really like sitting out by the pool so I just end up using a chair to put my things while I'm in the pool. I would much rather use a locker and know that my stuff is safer there than just lying around in a pool chair. And if there were lockers I wouldn't have to tie up a pool chair just to get in the pool.

It will only get busier this week. The crowds started building on Friday night as Holy week started. It is a big break week for some major areas of the country and it runs into next week after Easter.

If I don’t see shoes or personal belongings on/near the chair with the towel, fair game in my opinion. People who do this are beyond rude!

I think many guests could not find the chairs they put a towel on to save their lives.

Many just put towels down and think they will be back but their plans change. We are like @elvispursley and others that just check for any personal items beyond a generic white towel. We will simply move it to the used towel bin.

However some guests will leave a random pair of flip-flops laying there all day long.

We were there March and it was a little tough for sure. We could stalk for about 5-10 min and find one. The pool is suppose to be only for WDW guests but there’s not a single check to make sure

The YC/BC have lockers at SAB. CR has lockers too.

I agree as well. We have loved staying there ( rooms and scenery) but hate the pools there. The larger one with the hot tubs is so dated. The feature pool is nice but no hot tubs and lacks a lot of space for people to sit.

Updating , so I’m at the pool at grand Flo at 8:30 am and ALL the chairs have towels and people’s stuff on them (ie beach bags, books etc) and only exactly 7 people physically here .
Can you please take pictures for us? We’d appreciate it. Thanks!
