Garage Sale Price for Battery Operated Vehicles?

What condition is it in? I sold a Peg Perego riding toy that was in really good condition (new tires, extra battery) for $100, but it was about $500 new. It sold really quickly so I might have sold it for more if I'd priced it higher.

Good luck. $100 sounds right to me. But based on my garage sale experiences.......I always think I under price stuff, and everyone who comes to the sale thinks I over priced it. :)

Well, except for the bar and barstools.....after my mother in law passed away, we had a garage sale, discovered later we sold the bar for $25 more than she paid for it new 20 years earlier. But Austin Powers had a similar bar in his movies, and so they were hot.

I was thinking $100 and hoping for $75. Amazon has the Jeep listed for a lot, but that's because I don't think they carry it anymore.

In our area I've never seen anyone asking more than $50. We must live in a cheap yard sale area of the country.

I was thinking the same thing, $100 for a garage sale seems like alot. I would list it on Craiglist for that much since it would draw peopel who were specifically looking for that. I think garage sales are places where people go to find a great deal so they may see $100 as expensive for that.

My dd had that Barbie Jeep, I miss when she was little enough for that stuff :sad1:

Not as cheap as where I am. They go for $20 at garage/yard sales. Bought ours when the girls were little for $20.

Yep. $25 seems to be the average price for them around here. $50 is just the highest I've ever seen. Every area seems to be different but in our area if I walked up and saw it marked more than $50 I'd assume everything atthe sale was overpriced and head back to my car. I go to yard sales to get stuff for CHEAP. I don't care how much the owner originally paid for it. If we actually want to try to get a decent amount of our money back out of it then we put it on Craigslist. Not knocking the OP or the prices suggested at all, just talking about how it is in our area. :)

Around here it would go for 20-25 dollars, There is no way I would pay 100 for a used toy

Hmm...I guess it does depend on where you live. I wouldn't let the jeep go for less than $75 since it's bigger and a 2 seater. Heck, I sold kids bikes last year for $25!

Actually, thanks for the Craigslist idea. I checked our area out and found one in poor condition ("sun faded" and without a battery) for $75 and one in good condition for $175, so I feel comfortable asking $100.

If you get 25% of retail on anything at a garage sale, you're doing great! I'd ask $60 and take $50. Around here it would be next to impossible to get 50% of retail unless someone was specifically out looking for a battery-operated vehicle. Other places would net more, so I guess it just depends on the market where you live.

When going to garage sales people are looking for cheap. Most times when I was going to thrift stores they were charging high dollar for stuff. I leave. You can always start at one price and negotiate down. That way everyone feels like they got a good bargain.

$25-75 depending on condition of car & age of the battery.

Side note: I have a friend whose daughter competes in power wheels mud drags & demo derbies LOL

I'm guessing they're probably sold after 4 years.
