Gambling

i don't know if I'm the lone ranger or if those who go to casinos just aren't on this thread. I go about 3 times a week now that I'm retired. I read somewhere that our area has the most casinos within a 45 mile radius (Indian casinos). 8 that I think of, probably more. Ooops 9. forgot about HardRock. 2 I can get to in 15 minutes, 2 more in 30 minutes. I use to play blackjack at $1 a hand but darned if I'm playing $25 a hand. I do like the slots with different bonuses. Something wierd since October but with playing a maximum $3.52 every once in awhile sometimes $2, sometimes $1.25 I have won about $35K.

I don't enjoy casino gambling, but love going to and betting on horseracing. I can pick one or two long shots if I'm paying attention and have a decent return on my fun money. I tend not to make large bets, I just don't enjoy that kind of stress, but $10 here or there can be fun to turn into $200.

I love playing slots. I know, it's just throwing away money, but I still love it. I used to go on a regular basis when I lived in KC. Now, it's to far to drive. I was always pretty lucky playing slots. My highest jackpot was $3000, but I would win several hundred almost every other time I went. I always had a limit of how much I would lose before leaving. I could usually tell if I was going to be lucky within a few minutes after arriving. Unfortunately, they've changed to many of the slots over to the new style with tons of play lines. I love the old style.

One day, I won two jackpots within a few minutes of each other on machines sitting side by side. That was fun!

Love playing Blackjack. My running joke is that if you're really good at blackjack it takes you all night to lose. I charted my spending and winnings one year and ended up just about broke even. The wife and I did get onto a tremendous tear on a vacation in Aruba and ended up paying for the 6-night trip with what we won. Mostly we just go for the banter and free drinks.

When not on a vacation with a handy casino, we usually set aside a weekend morning to bet on the ponies. Generally $1 and $2 dollar stakes.

I love to gamble! I'm probably lucky that the closest casino to me is an hour away so I only go once or twice a month. I have to set a limit of how much I'll spend going in and if I lose it quickly the drive home is so sad - lol.

I mostly play slots, I like the fun ones with crazy bonus rounds and the plain 3 reels. Crazily enough, I find it mindless and relaxing even with all the flashing lights and loud sounds. I'll also play roulette if I'm there with friends, it's more of a social than winning thing to me.

The most I've won in one day is around $2400, that's hitting several big ones and just plugging along winning a little at a time. On Facebook I just saw that someone was betting 88 cents a spins and won $94,000, now that would be nice!

I haven't gambled for a while, but used to a lot! My husband played in a lot of blackjack tournaments and was on a winning streak for a year. He bought a lot of nice things for his boat, motors, etc. Then, the winning streak busted and he learned quickly to quit playing. He hasn't gone gambling since. I love to gamble and like others on here I take only what I can afford to lose. We have lots of Indian casino's here. There is one 10 minutes away, another is 30 minutes a way, a couple an hour and so on. They are everywhere. If I play, I go to one pretty far away and spend the night, eat out, play bingo, and have fun. So far I'm pretty lucky in that I bring home more than I take 6 out of 7 times. But I don't play much now. Just lost the interest for a while I guess. I agree that it is like any other form of entertainment that you spend money on that you can afford. The problem is that it can be very addicting and some people have a hard time fighting that addiction.

^^ I agree, the LAST place someone with a gambling addition should go is any online casinos. You also have NO idea if they are simply scams and are largely based in some off-shore location which is poorly regulated.

I used to be quite the gambler too, but have taken a step back from it in recent times. I agree that it can be a fun form of entertainment as long as you're only playing with what you can afford to lose. It's important to keep in mind that gambling can be addictive, and some people struggle to control themselves once they get started. I noticed that you mentioned Indian casinos, and I'm familiar with those myself. If you ever do feel like playing again, have you considered trying out online platforms?
Really??? Really, londynt??

Hi: I think you were asking me? If not, the answer is No. I think online playing for money is something not for me. I like the trip itself to the casino, which is about 90 minutes away. We have a place we stop for breakfast and coffee. We like to eat out, catch a show if there is one, play bingo, check out the gift store, and wander around checking out all the new machines and old favorites. Just spend time together and have fun.

Gamble a little. Like to play slots and poker in casino. Slots for minute Pokser for hours though not everywhere has a poke room and thats a problem because slots for hours can be ugly.. Play fantasy Golf on draft Kings. But I only play a couple of teams a week. And its more like playing lottery as I go in bigger pools. Had I pick Scottie Sheffler instead of John Rahm this week would have easily won $500 on $10. And would have been top 20 with winner getting $10K. Wuld have been close to top spot if Hovlinad and Fleetwood didn't mess up last few holes. John Rahm withdrew from tournament after first round with a stomach bug. Way I figure it - I do research/Analytics(Which I enjoy) and then play a couple of big pools. Some payout over Mil to 1st place and I come a lot closer to that the I do lottery.

I like bingo though it costs around 50$ to play but it takes around 3 hrs
plus Ive won pretty much once I won a 3000$ jackpot--
DH also won the jackpot on one of our disney cruises so we went right to the cruise desk and booked Alaska
