Trying to figure out which deck/possible rooms to look at. We snagged an aft on deck 5, but I am reading because the Dream is an older ship that its really noisy, has issues with soot, and its next to the laundry which reports have also said is loud. Thanks for any input and tips!

Hey just got off the dream room #7194 had an AWESOME verandah. Smack in the middle of aft - no noise at all - you wouldn't even know the cabins were there. No issue with soot or vibration - only con i can say was on 1 of the days you could smell some diesel but it wasn't prevalant. I would book this room again!

We sailed in 5668 on the fantasy in December. An extended verandah cabin in the aft. We were nervous it would be loud because it was over the adult entertainment area. Never heard any noise from deck 4. Would sail on deck 5 aft again.

We sailed in 8188 on the Dream, the huge aft verandahs are seriously amazing! There is definitely more vibration in the aft when docking, but in our opinion the pros far outweighed the cons. No issues with soot on our sailing. The only major downside is that going back to a regular verandah room after makes the regular verandah feel so small!

5650, we've had it on the Dream and Fantasy. HUGE verandah, could have a dance party out there 😂 Only downside is that for about half your verandah people can look down on you from their own verandahs but this never bothered us. In fact we had some of the best guest interactions while out on our verandah.

We just had this room a couple of weeks ago on a B2B and it’s the best we have had in 10 cruises. In addition to the verandah, it has a great location and was pretty quiet (some noise from the kids club but not hateful).

We had this room on the Dream too and also on the Fantasy - twice!! We just love the extended verandah rooms and always book them! Wish we were there right now.

I second the extended verandah's on deck 5 of the Dream and Fantasy. It doesn't bother me that the decks above can see down to your verandah as the trade off for a lot more space is great. The best are the ones that are at the end of a run of verandah staterooms where there is no verandah on one side of you. My favorites have been 5664 and 5164. You have a 270 degree view because the railing curves around where there is no verandah on one side. It's great.

Conversely as much as I like verandahs on the aft, being as low as deck 5 I found the noise of the churning water to be the issue (not the actual noise of the engine or the soot). I was in 5190 on the Dream and we couldn't hold a conversation sitting on our verandah because of how loud the water noise was.

We did GTY and ended up with 5052 and it has a verandah that’s 6x the size of the usual verandahs! Location was great and not loud despite being so close to public areas. IMG_5862.jpeg

That’s the aft room we had booked-5190 on the Dream! Decided to switch it to something else after reading some reviews but watching to see if another aft room opens up!
