Trying to pick restaurants for an upcoming trip and looking over menus. My baby has an egg allergy and I noticed on the Beaches and Cream the Mac n Cheese is blank instead of listing if it’s egg safe. Does anyone know if it is? Is there another place to look this information up?

Disney Dining is saying no. Which would make sense since most of the time the noodles used for mac n cheese are egg based noodles.

Ugh ok. Do I Google Disney dining allergies to find where these are listed for other restaurants? I noticed a lot of the country restaurants in Epcot don’t list allergens

You can look at the bottom of the menus on disney dining and they list what allergies each meal is safe for. But I would still definitely check with the restaurants when you get there (the chef) b/c you can never be too safe. Good luck!

I was looking on the app but a few of the country restaurants didn’t seem to have any allergens listed

I agree with @Giraffe_Zen, you should always check with the restaurant when you get there regardless of what the info in the app says. It's possible a restaurant changed sources for ingredients since the app menu was last updated.

My now 37 year old was anaphylactic allergic to eggs, tree nuts, peanuts and any form of milk including whey and sodium caseinate. You can do this!

Many of the world showcase restaurants are not Disney owned, and it wasn’t safe to eat at most of them for us. Disney was an early pioneer in food allergy safety, and a chef will come out and meet with you. Be sure to note in your ADR. Coral Reef was our go to in Epcot, as Garden grill wasn’t our thing.

We also discovered that with food allergies and young children, they were fine with us bringing safe food for him. It was different that bringing in chicken tenders for a picky eater.

Are the non Disney owned country restaurants not as good with food allergies? I had looked at the coral reef but their Mac n cheese isn’t egg safe and I’m not sure she’d eat any of the other food options on the kids menu. She’s a picky eater even at one which has been challenging with her food restrictions

I can't speak to the non Disney owned restaurants and food allergies, but there was a story on this week's Disney Dish podcast about Takumi-Tei restaurant's so-called plant-based menu items at the Japanese pavilion.

The Disney website menu for this location states: Our plant-based menu items are made without animal meat, dairy, eggs and honey. Someone who is vegan ate there recently and there were multiple instances of non-vegan items (such as egg yolk, honey, real cheese, and even duck) in the plant-based menu. When she asked the chef about it was clear they didn't understand the difference between vegan and vegetarian.

Sorry, I know vegan/vegetarian is not your concern but this story is to point out you may need to be very specific in your questions to the chef before ordering at any Disney restaurant.

Part of the safeness of the non Disney owned restaurants is that, at least pre covid, most do the kitchen staff might be from their home country and communication could fall thru the cracks. If I had a toddler with food allergies to eggs that only wants mac n cheese, I would pack some in a little thermos and bring it into the restaurant, and then pick the one you want to eat at. Once we said extreme food allergies, we were never prohibited from bringing safe food.

Oh wow that’s pretty bad a lot of that are allergens. I could see how the language barrier causing confusion I hadn’t thought about that before with the countries

We’d probably just pick somewhere else. She loves her food super hot like almost burning and gets annoyed when it cools off. I haven’t had good experience with a thermos keeping the food really hot. I didn’t think about the countries and most staff having a language barrier. We are new to the food allergies since she’s only a year

It isn’t just the language barrier, it is that all chefs at Disney-owned restaurants have allergy safe training and come out directly to talk with you. For my kiddo, a particle of cheese or a shred of nut could have killed him, so Disney became our only vacation restaurant destination.

At least in our day, the baby centers had microwaves where you could warm up food we brought. We often would warm up his chicken breast in the baby center by the Odyssey in Epcot, then would go to San Angel. He could safely eat the corn chips, and we would make him nachos with our chicken.

Oh I haven’t visited the baby centers that would be helpful. Disney has been really great with her egg allergy

Baby and Toddlerhood with food allergies is crazy. You can do it. We tried hard to make things as normal as possible, which back in the day the only nebulizers for the asthma needed plugs. So we got to know the baby centers very well indeed. The other is to make sure you do things YOU enjoy as well. It becomes so easy to center everything on their needs, and that isn’t healthy for any of you.
