I was thinking about that, too. How do you transport the chairs? I am worried lifting in and out of the car will cause more injury.

The zoomer is really easy to transport. We separate the bottom wheel/motor from the chair itself. The chair itself is really light, not much different than a beach chair, but it is bulkier than we would have thought.

The motor/wheels is quite heavy, there’s 2 handles that allows us to lift it. We leave the battery in but you can take that out as well. It’s maybe 200lbs in total and easier to handle than our luggage.

When it’s all one piece, that’s a different story. While possible, I disliked trying to drag it behind us. Lifting it all as one piece was also unwieldy.

That’s where we liked the ATTO. Especially since I don’t need it normally, it’s easy to put into trolly mode and walk through the airport, wheeling it out to the car or to the hotel room.

However, both pieces are heavy and more difficult to handle than the zoomer. It does separate into two lighter pieces, that makes it easier to move, but I wouldn’t call it luggable. I almost preferred it as one puce fully folded up like a carry on. While heavier the handles made it easier to get in and out of the car.

Some size perspective with it separated:

In terms of comfort, the zoomer is more comfortable. In terms of ergonomics, the ATTO offers more intuitive controls. Both are good devices and I haven’t been able to decide between the two right now.

Not all Zoomer chairs have the removable "power" section with the rear wheels and battery section that comes off - although if you can find a good used one with that feature, that is on the newer Zoomer chairs, and it does make a huge difference. The new models that are now being sold by Journey (the manufacturer) all have the removable power section. The only downside to that modification that they made is that it did lower the maximum weight for a user from 300 pounds to 275.

Trying to contact MamaBunny (IDK how this forum/contact stuff works). I’d really, really appreciate talking w/you about TravelScoot seat alternatives. I need alt seating solution (like how you did a boat seat), otherwise love my new TravelScoot.
One more Q: Have you found a way to “lock” front tire & steering so front doesn’t move during transport?
TY for any help.

Has anyone done the MK Keys to the Kingdom tour using an ECV?
I did one in an ECV as long as you can transfer into a boat and a moving walkway ride ( you go on two rides and I do not know if you know what ones there are) then you will be fine there were 3 people in my group that had mobility device the only thing that took some time is the elevator going down to the utilidoors only fit one device ( or it was the one that was coming out) any ways very fun and do able in an ECV

I have been using Gold Mobility for many years and been very happy with them most of the time. However, I don’t know if their ownership has changed or just their customer service policies but this last trip I’m sorry to say that my experience with them was a disaster and I don’t think I’ll be using them again. I have trips planned for May, June, September, and December.

this last trip was actually a solo trip and I came because I got a ticket for the After Hours event at HS the evening of my arrival and a ticket for the “Keys to the Kingdom” tour the next morning. My ECV was delivered as requested and certainly looked like a brand new model that was fully charged. I had a late lunch at the resort and my room was ready so I unpacked and rested until around 4:30 when I decided to take Skyliner over to HS. I was very surprised after I went through security and entered park to see that the scooter was already down to 3 bars and I had barely used it since it had been delivered with a full charge. At that point I was worried that the battery did appear to be holding its charge so I left the park and returned to the resort hoping to call Golden Mobility and get help so I could use scooter to attend the AH beginning at 9:30. A wheel chair was not an option since I couldn’t push myself far enough. And I didn’t think I could walk far enough to rent a scooter at the park. So I called Golden Mobility and got a recording so I immediately texted them instead as I usually receive a response quickly and I know ther business hours are from 7am to 7 pm. I got no response and even though I immediately hooked scooter up to charger I was afraid to take a chance. So I missed the After Hours at HS. I called guest services to see if I could reschedule the Keys to the Kingdom at MK as I had to check in for that at 9:00 am at MK and I didn’t see how I could make it. I was told there was no availability and I had passed the deadline to cancel for a refund. I sent another text message to GM explaining my situation. I did not receive a response that evening. I began calling right at 7 am the next morning and called repeatedly until I got through the woman I spoke with was apologetic and said she would arrange to have a different scooter dropped off.
A few minutes later I got a response to the text message I had sent the night before. I think it was from a different person from who I had just spoken to on phone. The text message informed me that the scooter would be replaced and they would “run a diagnostic on the scooter once it was back and it something did happen to be wrong they would refund a days worth of order” they also said that if scooter came back working completely fine there would be a convenience fee of $25.
Of course by the time another scooter was delivered I had missed the Keys to the Kingdom tour and I hadn’t bought the LLmultipass since I figured I would be doing the tour. The lines were so long I just returned to the resort and the day was pretty much wasted. I never heard back from Gold Mobility. I never got a refund which I hadn’t even asked for anyway and I haven’t seen a “convenience charge” On my credit card.
If. I hadn’t plan to go the After Hours event and the Keys to the Kingdom tour I wouldn’t even have come back to Disney until the trip scheduled for June. So extra disappointing.

Now I’m considering using the company that leaves scooters at the resort with Bell Services. The scoters I have seen from that company don’t look anywhere near as nice as the Gold Mobility scooters but I believe they have longer business hours and respond quickly if you have a problem. Has anyone used “scooter Bug”?

I’m sorry you had that experience. I rented from ScooterBug in August. They delivered my scooter without part of the charging cable, but a series of phone calls led to Bell Services giving me the missing part from a returned scooter. I charged during our afternoon break, but had no other problems.

I am so sorry that you had this experience. You were counting on the ECV working for you and when it did not, it completely messed up your plans, I would be all over GMS asking them to refund a large portion of my fee to make up for missing the AH event and the tour. I rented from GMS last week and while I didn't have any problems with my ECV or the battery, actually the battery rarely dropped one bar after a full day of use, I did text them a couple of questions about drop off and pick up and they never responded, so I think they need to work on their communication some. I would rent from them again as I had a favorable experience, but I completely understand your hesitation to use them again.

Exactly right, it is disappointing to hear this experience.

I do know that Gold Mobility has changed hands, but that was a while back and I wonder if things have slipped slightly, which would be really sad as none of the other companies are very good when things go wrong.

Done that. TS will not help w/other seat options besides their own, & I have bought/tried all 3 of theirs. Mamabunny stated in her comment she had converted a boat seat for her TS, & I’m needing to learn more about how she did that. I do not know how to contact her directly (or if that’s possible) about her boat seat conversion. This possibility is the only hope I have to stay mobile, at this point.
*If someone could give be step by step instructions on how to send Mamabunny a msg on here (if that’s even possible) I’d greatly appreciate it, & am desperate to find seat solution. TY.

Unfortunately that poster has not been online here since November.

Once you have 10 posts you can "DM" her using the "send direct message" option when you hover over her username. But no guarantee when or if she'll return to see that.

Here are links to some threads where she talked about -- or at least mentioned -- modifying with a boat seat. Maybe something here will help:

I hope she is ok, she used to be a lot more active than that.

Have you considered talking to someone locally who does boat or automotive interior work? If you can find a shop that does custom work they can likely help you.
