DVC “Confessions”

That’s the beauty of the wide range of themes for DVC. It gives all the Riviera vibes to me and totally gives the welcome home feels with the unique Disney artwork everywhere and Disney songs sung in French and Italian. I love the pics of Walt and family vacationing in Europe on the walls too. I’m glad it’s not everyone’s favorite though as it’s not as hard to book .

Yeppp I actually like that the rooms feel deluxe and hotel like. It makes me feel that the product I bought is NOT just deluxe adjacent while others like the casual homey vibe of OKW. One persons con is another's pro.

I hate the deluxe adjacent feeling. I don't feel like that at blt I guess cuz it's it's own standalone hotel with good front desk service. I think that's why I like akv and riv so much

I believe it's used in other places but I also LOVE the smell of the lobby at the Riviera. Whether it's just arrival or coming back from a good day at the parks it has come to smell like home for us. To the point we bought a candle that mimics it.

The antidote to addonitis is enough points at a home resort you like for a room you like at the times of the year you like. That and a limited budget and/or limited PTO approval (says the person who sold back over 100 hours of PTO this year…).

I think I have maximized our potential points. Only way I’d change anything is a direct fire sale. And then some points would have to be sold.

Id use the PTO payout as a reason to buy more. It's like free money why not spend on DVC.

DH used to get PTO paid out and we for sure took way less vacations back then.

I dont think so. Ive declared "Im done" more than once... and turns out I was not done.

For me it's a fire sale on pretty much anything. Not sure I could pass it up

SSR is my fav resort. To me it doesn't have the hussle and bustle of the others I stayed at and I feel most relaxed there.

That's how we feel at OKW.

We never rent a car so I will probably avoid SSR and OKW forever. Unless I want to add a SAP into my mix lol.

I can understand why some people might like them if they want to get away from all of the hustle and bustle though

If I ever add SAP points it will be from SSR

Don't sleep on Congress Park at SSR though, having every resort essentially be able to take you back to your resort through Disney Springs is really nice. Doesnt hurt to pick up a cookie or dessert on the way back to the room either

That's what I would be on the lookout for. A steal of a deal on a loaded contract that I would use everywhere else except there lol. And then sell if the 2042 problem makes it too hard to book the other remaining resorts

The theming doesn't appeal to me at all. We are starting to learn how to golf, I'm not sure if that is the one with the golf course or okw but if that one is in then maybe it's in my future

How many do you have

310 (210 at BLT, 100 at BCV), which can get us about a week in the winter in a 2 bedroom in either of my home resorts during my state’s coldest months (ie, when I want to be in Florida). And if we don’t use the 2 bedroom, my BLT contracts can get us a week in a 1 bedroom and my BCV contract can get us six days in a studio. So we have options for different trips with different numbers of people!

If we ever go to visit Universal we will probably try out Saratoga. My kids are very interested in Universal.
