Lookout Cay long pier.

Thank you for this reply! Your experience was what I was looking for! I just needed to know when to start walking to meet my husband about the same time.

Did you go to guest services before or call ahead to get your husband on the golf cart?

Our experience was on the Dream in December with my in-laws. My father in law was not able to make the walk, although he has no outward disability, just lack of mobility with his age and low stamina due to some underlying health conditions.

Our message said to meet at the Buena Vista theater, so we all went there to drop him off (we did nothing with guest services ahead of time). They said no problem and asked if any of us wanted to wait with him and go with him. He generally is in good health, not frail or anything that would make them think he needed someone, they just weren't that busy at the time. We did not go first thing, it was probably about a half hour or so after the all clear. We did not stay with him, the three of us walked. We headed off the ship right after dropping him off.

I'd say it took us about 12 minutes or so to walk, we got there a bit before he did. There are benches and stuff, so we just waited for him. He arrived about 5-10 minutes after us? I didn't keep exact time, but it really wasn't long.

On the way back around 2 pm, it was just him and me. We waited in the line for the golf cart and they had no problem with me going with him on the way back.

l think some of the timing and if someone can go with them depends on how busy it is and if there is space.

I hear all that is said both positive and negative but for me the walk was too long, and I did not enjoy the time on the island. Unless they come up with something to transport all I will not return to this island. I am 70 and by the time I got to the island I had no energy or ability to see the whole island. For me that is a failure for Disney.

Even though I have not been to LC, I have no desire to pay to visit the island. Disney knows that CC is the preferred location of the two because they are not even close in terms of what they offer. (as of now, this could eventually change) I never thought that LC would be so different from CC when they were getting it in place.

And it possibly wasn't supposed to be that different at first, until budget cuts took over? Not sure? (wasn't there a turn around spot for trams transporting guest, illustrated in the original artist renderings to begin with?)

From the beginning there was the commitment to not cause more ecological damage than necessary - that was part of the agreement with the Bahamian government. And from the first concept art and discussions it was clear this was going to be more focused on the culture of the Bahamas. So no, it was never planned to be Castaway 2.0.

I couldn't possibly know about budget cuts, but I do know that the smaller pier was presented by Disney as a way to be more ecologically friendly to the nearby corals and fish.

You are truly missing out. I honestly like it better than Castaway Cay. Ignore the internet fodder and try it for yourself and form your own opinion. It’s a fantastic stop! And no it was never meant to be Castaway Cay 2- and that is a positive not a negative.

I really like activities and some chill time too. LC looks like complete chill time. I want waterslides in the ocean.😄

I hear that but sounds like you have water slided a lot. Sometimes trying something different for the experience alone has value. But hey, these days you don’t have to choose you can do both :)

While I much prefer CC, I'm not really sure about this. What is it that is not offered at the other island?

Bikes are still not being offered, rafts & floats not offered because of the open ocean, there is no in Da Shade pavilion, no teen hideout, no hammocks that I saw, and the splash pad with those waterslides is a far cry from pelican plunge, also no climbing obstacle in the ocean like at castaway, no sunken Disney treasures to find when snorkeling…

It does have the cultural center and Junkanoo is amazing but I can understand arguments that it has less to offer
