One of us sends you a link. You fill in your contact information for the initial tour (live or virtual) with Disney. Because you signed up for the tour with a referral link, you get $500 off. The rest of the process goes normally, just with an extra "referral link" step at the start. Is the referral process defined anywhere? We are looking to buy direct as new members
Here’s the listing on DVC websiteIs the referral process defined anywhere? We are looking to buy direct as new members
Right? That's why we have this thread. Nobody wants to leave money on the table with a Disney purchase if they can avoid it And so Buyers don't think this is about DISBOARD people trying to take advantage, the Buyer (should) get $500 off their purchase while the member referring "may receive a dining experience or other non-monetary item or service" at DVC's option lol. Honestly, I think most referring members just want to help.I would be happy to be a referral; wish I had known about this when we made our first DVC purchase!
Oh good. How long was the gap between your referral and getting the card? At last check, the person who referred me had not received their bonus yet, nor have I on someone I referred in June. So we really are doing this to help folks save $500, and maybe there will be a referrer reward someday.FWIW I got a credit recently from a Disboards member (thank you!) and it was $150 dining card “good at Disney properties throughout the US”, And good for a year. Mine is getting spent at Aulani .
I’m not entirely sure when they actually signed their papers, but definitely quite a few months.Oh good. How long was the gap between your referral and getting the card? I am happy to refer folks. Copying from a previous page:
To stack bonuses, you might also want to:
Create 10 posts on the Test Board if you cannot send direct messages yet.
- Take a tour and buy immediately after; I got a $1000 bonus for buying within 24 hours of a vacation.
- Take a tour while staying on-resort (any resort). The gift card reward is reportedly $100 right now; I think it was $50 back when I first did so, was $200 earlier this year.
- Purchase somewhere that currently has incentives (per point and flat rate with tiers based on the number of points)
- Get Magical Beginnings so Disney buys back your first year's points ($20/point was what I was quoted)
- Put your payment on a credit card for rewards
Eligible to do this once a year. An email will have the giftcard info. We printed it out to bring with us but then found it was easy to put the GC into our phone wallet as well.
If you guys got a spare referral send one over my way.. I haven't had one in a minuteI learned this the hard way. I had 2 referrals last year that turned into purchases and got just one gift card.
Not sure why they would limit it to once a year. Seems counterproductive if they have members spreading positive word of mouth (and it also materializes to a $25K+ sale) to not reward them.
I haven't had one since you got credit to your dues...If you guys got a spare referral send one over my way.. I haven't had one in a minute
First post here!
Has anyone used this incentive with a Canadian buyer?
Thank you for letting me know. I will ask if I can provide the name of a US member for the referral.Happy to try it out. Fine print says I'd have to be a US resident. Nothing about you...
You need a few more posts to be able to DM.

Sorry I just saw this! We started paperwork on 150pts at PVB on Oct 2nd (right after existing member sales started) and I believe our contract officially closed on Oct 21st. I had filled out the referral link a couple of months ago, but refreshed it (or added a duplicate?) right before we signed the contract. This was our first direct purchase, but we owned a resale bought earlier this year. @CastAStone got the credit on Nov 2nd.I’m not entirely sure when they actually signed their papers, but definitely quite a few months.
